Nintendo is so weird sometimes...they still refuse to localize Mother 3. They begrudgingly brought the original Xenoblade Chronicles for the Wii to the west. Yet at the same time, they're totally down with bringing cult classics from third parties to their platform, like Bayonetta 2 and this.
Well that's what I'm talking about. You don't come to Deadly Premonition because you're expecting good framerate, lol

As far as we know its not a Bayonetta 2 situation were the game was fully funded, but there is some sort of deal going on behind the scenes, with Nintendo publishing the game in a few territories

It's the closest thing we've gotten to a Twin Peaks game. Murder mystery set in a small town, you're called in to investigate and shit gets weird.
From a gameplay and visuals perspective, the original is pretty jank, namely the combat and driving around the open world environment. But if you're a fan of that Twin Peaks-ish quirkiness, it's worth looking up some videos and seeing if you can overlook the aforementioned jank.
