This is the first I've heard of this. Why no Funimation dub I wonder?
If I remember right it only on special dvds from a contest and it only like 20 min. long, and come to think about it there is a sizable amount of DBZ stuff that is not dub.
-Goku is on earth
-Gohan is still like 5/6 in that movie, meaning they should be on namek, or at least Goku shouldnt be around
-Goku still has to be angry to be a SSJ despite easily doing it within a few mins of when he arrives on earth after Trunks kills Freeza

That Goku returns special was awesome. They put it out like a week after it was a part of the tour. You had to download their weird video player but when they released it on the internet it had english subtitles and everything. Or you could have just wait an extra day and have it show up on youtube.

What was also awesome about that Goku Returns special was the fact that it had a new Saiyan character show up (one who was related to an established character no less) and, instead of taking the shitty fanfic route of basically making him Broly but even more """"""""""awesome"""""""""", they actually make him a complete fucking wimp because he hasn't been at the epicenter of the fucking action like the Z Warriors have been. Tarble comes in asking them to help him defeat a foe that is as strong as Freeza and Goku's reaction is literally "sure, the 10 year old kids could use the practice." That's how far behind he fucking is.

The fact they're being so quiet on this has me slightly worried. It's only a few weeks away and we literally know jack shit about it. I'm starting to think this might've been a rushed project in response to Kai ending.
All the promo art for it shows reused Z era Goku art. I want to see how Goku looks in the new series. Will he uses the blue gi? The Revival of F gi? I just want something.

The sword Trunks gets in that movie is the one he uses like twice in GT.
They're treating it as a sequel to Kai, that's why they're quiet. I've also heard from people on other forums (don't know if it's true) that it isn't super uncommon for anime to be dead silent until a month before release.
IIRC that movie came out before GT and it is HEAVILY implied in the credits of that movie that it is the same exact sword that future Trunks.
EDIT: But yea I know its the same one in GT, which is non canon in itself. Well at least non canon to the manga

Licensing issues. The production committee for the 2008 special (and the two recent video game specials) is different than the usual for Dragon Ball anime. That piece of animation has actually never left Asia, outside of that brief period where it was officially streaming online with subtitles.

Goku and gang getting their drivers license was funny. Vegeta singing seemed uncharacteristic of him.

The point of the scene was that Vegeta had matured enough to put his pride aside when it mattered.
It suppose to be uncharacteristic dude was dealing with a god while goku getting his license was super dumb since piccolo wouldn't be scared of chi chi and wouldn't fit goku clothes.

God I hope it takes place between the Z and GT series. I wasn't a huge fan of GT, so I'd really like it to not be a sequel.
GT isn't canon. It will completely ignore GT just like the recent movies did.

The Bingo song served a purpose, Vegeta was trying to distract Beerus so he wouldn't get mad, it was a point of character development to show that Vegeta now cares enough about Earth and his loved ones to throw away his pride to protect them. Beerus and Goku even talk about it in their battle and Goku mentions that he has a lot of respect for Vegeta for doing that.

GT was done by Toei animation with VERY little input from Toriyama, since Toriyama has come back to the series there have been many additions that completely ignore GT. Basically think of GT as a really long DBZ movie, it's a side story that is self contained that doesn't actually happen in the main series.

I think I said this earlier, but I want Master Roshi to be a powerful character in Super. Like, "can fight a Saiyan" powerful. I think it'd be really cool if this character, I dunno, became enlightened once he hits a certain age, and goes back to being the formidable opponent he was in Dragon Ball.

Makes total sense, other timelines clearly exist in the DBverse.
