Are we talking Dan Dan or Grand Tour? The opening and ending theme are amazing. The story...
Definitely, that's why I really enjoyed the Bojack movie. The Tournament sagas were easily one of my faves in the DB/DBZ series. I really don't care for Dragon ball trying to be too serious and dark all the time, I'm all for the light hearted tone of the original.Easiest way for an action-packed movie with some fun? Tournament anyone? Those were always the best dragon ball episodes and they had action and fun![]()
Forget him, we need more Tien and Piccolo action. Kinda am a bit bummed out that Goku only gets the good scenes in the series while the side characters get their asses handed to them. And to think they were all rivals to Goku at Dragon Ball.

Hopefully Toriyama finally decides if he wants to do a serious movie or a funny one. That was my main grip with Battle of the Gods, it didn't decide what it wanted to be.
I'm all for lighthearted DB, but a recently popular opinion seems to be that it's flat-out superior and more welcome than the more serious story arcs. No way, man. Freeza and the Androids (up until Cell showed up) were the pinnacle of the series. I wouldn't mind seeing a good balance of action/silliness.
The only way in which Dragon Ball needs is to let characters that aren't saiyans fight opponents that make sense for them to fight. I want to see Tien, Piccolo, Krillin and Yamcha have fights that push them to their limits but they actually have a chance of winning instead of getting beaten up by a singular big bad. Sic a big bad with an army on them. Let Goku/Gohan/Vegeta deal with the big bad, everyone else takes the minions or whatever. There are times similar to this throughout the series, but someone else still usually has to save them.
So toriyama been implying that the upcoming movie was originally meant to in the manga... This could mean the return of future trunks(wishful thinking) maybe the movie takes place during an alternate timeline with the Z warriors or that future trunks needs help who knows?! or it could take place during the time where goku and everyone is training before the androids appear there's a huge gap there.

Nah. Dragonball is about how much Goku's power level can increase. I don't care about what happened way back then.
The Jump Victory Carnival event is underway this weekend in Tokyo and many Japanese Dragon Ball fans have been tweeting out pictures of a flyer being handed out to attendees for the upcoming Dragon Ball Z movie. The artwork is the same as that used on the movies official teaser website, with the front of the flyer featuring Son Goku and the back showcasing Shenlong, along with a reprint of author Akira Toriyamas initial comments about the movie. The only new piece of information is inconspicuously tucked away in the lower right-hand corner of the front of the flyer, listing veteran animator Tadayoshi Yamamuro as the movies director.
With Tadayoshi Yamamuro becoming Toei Animations go-to guy for anything Dragon Ball-related in the past, including being animation supervisor for Battle of Gods, it is unclear what will be happening with the animation supervisor position for this film. More than likely it will be filled by another animator, as opposed to having Yamamuro perform both roles, but nothing has been officially announced as of yet. Previously Yamamuro has only provided direction for the opening and ending animations for Dragon Ball Kai, so it will be interesting to see how he adapts to a much larger, and more important, project such as this.
I doubt we're getting a direct sequel to battle of gods since he said this is a story that was originally meant to be in the manga. The hard part is trying to figure out during which arc it takes place.
Is BoG any good for people who have seen it? Heard bad things...
we do have oneThis thread just reminds me: Why don't we have a teamfourstar official thread? That needs to get made.
Official Site and director revealed:
![]()
Tagline: "The worst wish in history. That is the beginning of despair."
Kanzenshuu:
That was mistranslated info. It's a sequel to BoG.
he has also, “…deliberately increased the amount of action scenes by a good deal."
Just watched BotG. Bills is an awesome character. I don't like when Goku is just suddenly granted a power boost though. I want him to earn it. Also the lack of continuity with power levels is aggravating. Why are characters still talking about Frieza? Even Buu in his current state should be able to sneeze and obliterate Frieza.
and immediately after that he got his arm broken and was laid out by 18.
In the movie Vegeta became temporarily stronger than SSJ3 Goku, lasted longer against Bills than everyone besides SSG Goku.......then he got laid out.
plsdontbebardockplsdontbebardockplsdontbebardockplsdontbebardockplsdontbebardockplsThe complete teaser for the upcoming 2015 Dragon Ball Z movie, initially shown in segments just the other day on Mezamashi TV, has been added to the movies official website at d2015gw.com:
Most notably, after Shenlong provides his usual spiel about granting a single wish, the video contains a new quote in text:
生き返らせてほしい者がいます
Theres someone I want you to revive
Adjusted text from the initial V-Jump reveal is also included:
いま、絶望が始まる
Now, despair begins
The as-of-yet untitled film will debut in Japan during Golden Week next year. Original manga author Akira Toriyama is heavily involved with the script and character designs, while series veteran Tadayoshi Yamamuro will also serve as director.
The January issue of V-Jump, officially slated for release this Friday (21 November 2014), features a detailed DB Scoop on the upcoming Dragon Ball Z movie (originally reported by Anime News Network). The scoop features a new visual for the film, the first seen since the movie was announced this past July. It is more than likely the movies official poster, which features our main protagonists, Beerus, Whis, Freeza, and two new unsavory characters.
The movie poster also reveals the films official title and release date:
Dragon Ball Z: Revival of F
Opening day, set at last!!! Saturday, 18 April 2015: A super-wide release nationwide in 2D and 3D!!!
Unlike with the previous film, Kami to Kami / Battle of Gods, no supplementary or alternative English title is provided. The movie will premiere nationwide in Japan 18 April 2015 in both 2D and 3D formats. This release date is a bit earlier than expected by most, but it is perhaps intended to build the movies momentum going into the Golden Week holiday break.
At the moment we cannot verify plot details or Toriyamas comments beyond what is currently described elsewhere. However, the general plot details from Anime News Network are as follows:
An Earth where peace has arrived. However, remnants of Freezas army Sorbet and Tagoma arrive on the planet. Their goal is to revive Freeza with the Dragon Balls. Their dastardly wish is granted, and the F that plans its revenge against the Saiyans is revived !
Two new characters will appear in the movie: Sorbet (ソルベand Tagoma (タゴマ
, shown below on the left and right, respectively. Following the fine nuances of the name puns in the last film, these name puns seem awfully transparent. As with all of Freezas minions, as described by Akira Toriyama in the Super Exciting Guide volumes, the names are unified as food items that one puts inside [a refrigerator]. Therefore, Sorbet gets his name directly from the frozen dessert sorbet, while Tagomas name is derived from the Japanese word tamago (卵
, meaning egg.
Toriyamas original designs for the characters are included in the magazine, along with a brief description:
A mysterious pair of planetary warriors, equipped with the latest type of battle armor!! Tagoma in particular looks to be wearing a new type of Scouter!!
The tidbit about the new type of Scouter is very reminiscent of what Toriyama revealed in his interview with Naho Ooishi in the July 2014 issue of Saikyō Jump. He stated (bold added for emphasis):
If youre a soldier in Freezas army, you can have one made to order to fit your ear. The different screen colors can be chosen to fit the peculiarities of different aliens eyes, or to suit ones tastes. Also, dual-eye types exist as well.
This comment came just one month prior to the new movie being officially announced, so it is likely that Toriyama slipped this tidbit in solely because of his work on the upcoming movie, possibly having just drawn these character designs. Also of note is the text reading 更なる変 that is cut off in the upper right corner. This is likely the phrase 更なる変身, which means further transformation(s). Based on the image available, there is no indication whether this is in reference to Freeza or a Saiyan warrior.
The only way in which Dragon Ball needs to change is to let characters that aren't saiyans fight opponents that make sense for them to fight. I want to see Tien, Piccolo, Krillin and Yamcha have fights that push them to their limits but they actually have a chance of winning instead of getting beaten up by a singular big bad. So... Frieza, how will he compare to a SSJ2 or higher? He must have been doing a lot of training in hell.
Just in time to be kicked by Young Trunks. Can't wait for the return of Freezer.
You get two wishes, so they can wish him to be stronger than Goku. Hell, Saiyans get stronger when they're near death and revived. He can learn Kaio-ken and increase his power or he can obtain a fifth form and increase his power that way.
Random power boosts are hardly a problem in the Dragon Ball Universe.
