Why would Gohan become protector? It's not who he is, he hates fighting, years of peace made him soft. Goku loves to fight and so years in the other world made him strong.

Like how? Do Gohan fans really expect him to be able to take on someone who 2 shot SSJ3 Goku without even trying?
If its any consolation, he was the strongest by the end of the series and the only reason he didn't end everything himself is because Japanese fans wanted goku to be the center of attention. So ya know it was decided for you... years before you knew what DBZ was.

I have absolutely no idea how anyone likes that Battle of God's made GT non-cannon. BoT has nearly all the same issues, but extremer.
- New SSJ form that makes no sense vs. SSJ 4, which in its context was a pretty awesome transformation. Honestly? SSJ God? 6 pure hearted Saiyans? That's so Damn lame.
- Power levels are all over te place in GT. The Z Fighters seem underpowered in GT. But dude, Beerus nearly killing Goku SSJ3 in a flinch? vegeta temporarily getting stronger than Goku due to a slap?
Goku fighting Beerus is his normal form most of the time because his God Mode ran out hold up? What is this BS? Apparently his body learned SSJG powers while he was in it.
Oh and Tarble. This is an insult.
GT had Baby Vegeta and Dark Dragonball saga. GT is infinitely superior to Shit direction BOG took.

I feel like frieza will be a red herring for the main villain of the movie, which will be another god and they cant win once again but beerus come's back cause its been exactly 3 years which is old enough to have pan walking and talking

They are so incredibly weak I reckon Krillian could take them all out.
Actually any powerfull good guy should be able to just launch off a huge ki blast to take them all out at once.
And Freezer mentions some new evolution? A new form that gives him a BS power increase that he didnt use on planet Namek? And come on a powerup I seriously can't see it being stronger then Goku or Gohan or Buu etc...

They did.
He promised he wouldnt fight again once Goku decided to suicide-teleport Cell, and Gohan proved to be stronger than both of them, he was dissapointed in life and everything. So he went back to Capsule corp, where he only trained for 7 years. Probably in the gravity chambers made by Bulma's dad.
He even states so, when receiving Majin boost.
About BOTG plot -
in my opinion, 1000x better plot than GT. Bills is stronger than SSJ3 due to the fact he is a F-in God. Vegeta going stronger in SSJ2 is due to the perfection of the form. At that point he probably could pull off SSJ3 but his SSJ2 is maxed out. good reference for that is the power difference of SSJ1 Goku fighting Freeza (10 times weaker than 17 and 18) and SSJ1 Goku fighting Cell (10 times stronger than 17 and 18)
Babidi power up, he kept it after death.

Well here's the gist of it:
Gohan's latent powers were fully unleashed versus Cell. But hey, turns out he still has plenty of latent power that hasn't been drawn out yet. So the old kaioshin does some magic ritual he inherited from a witch he fused with which magically draws out gohans power and makes it so that he doesn't have to transform to use it.

I think that's the worst part about GT. The designs were horrendous.I suppose you make some good points, but I have a rebuttal.
- SSJ4 and its trigger make absolutely no sense
-Toriyama explained the power level thing and its probably going to play into all the future movies.
The only good thing about GT is the Japanese opening and endings. GT's issues were much worse than everything I've ever seen brought up about BoG.

That design wasn't in much of GT though. Oh and judging by the designs of the newly introduced characters in Goku Friends Return and BoG, you'll see worse designs than that (the villains in Friends Return were horrible, Beerus' watcher was horrible too).
But that design was redeemed anyway:
I'm not arguing GT is good. SS4's trigger next to SSG trigger makes SS4 trigger look reasonable. SS4 is basically Super Great Ape in human form. SS transformations are usually triggered by hurt of loved ones, in SS4 case, Goku was attacking his granddaughter.
This SSG however.. Why does this have to a form?

The issue with GT I had, power level wise, is that the Z fighters had way too much trouble fighting regular foes. The issue with BOG I have is that they still have trouble, but not because they look weak, but because the enemy is way too ridiculously overpowered. Added to that, like I said earlier, Beerus swatted SS3 like a fly. Another issue this leads to is the immense power boost Goku got just by beeing is SSG form. Goku went from beeing swatted like a fly in SS3 to holding his own against Beerus while beeing in his normal form in the span of a day. The ridiculousness of this transformation is unmatched by GT.

I know I'm gonna get blasted for this, but I actually somewhat enjoyed GT, just because super Saiyan kid Goku is just the most adorable thing ever.
That, and I really liked SS4, which had a unique take on getting the power up instead of just "taking it even further".
Other than that yeah it's not so good.

I have a bit of a shallow appreciation for GT. I was always a bigger fan of original DB and found DBZ's endless fight arcs exhausting, so as contrived as Goku turning into a kid and going on another silly Dragon Ball hunt was, it was more my cup of tea. The "Grand Tour" part was fun to me, but it fell apart when it changed gears and went into DBZ-lite mode.
I doubt it would hold up on rewatches or something, but I was grateful for the change in tone.
I also oddly dig the awful character designs, though I think that stems from nostalgia for how exotic some fabled bad Japan-only DBZ sequel seemed at the time.
