New gameplay screenshots of The Order 1886

This is my most anticipated game of 2014 so far.

Dear fucking god! This game will be the definition of a system seller. Such a great setting...
It took me far too long to see that you copied a picture of Galahad onto the concept art, I was puzzled as to why his hair looked so choppy. :P

So what kind of enemies are we facing in this game? Monsters? humans? vampires? The setting makes it look like it could be either or all of those lol

Seems like werewolf type enemies based on the initial trailer. Although, sounds like you will be fighting humans as well. (I think it was mentioned in the Game Informer article)

I didn't do that, that's the way the concept art came. Most concept artists use 3D/real life images blended into the overall image, it looks like they took the in-game model and transplanted into the concept art.

If there is anything that resembles that concept art in this game...

Trust me, there will be. These too:

It looks incredible. I will admit to being somewhat underwhelmed at the e3 trailer (too vague and too short) but the Gameinformer article and those screenshots have rocketed this game all the way up my most wanted list. The lighting and the cloth physics really stand out - I'm not sure anything I've seen can compare to that.

The setting and the intriguing backdrop to the story seem to be well chosen. I really hope RaD takes their time with this and don't rush it or try to do too many things with it. The tech seems to be cutting edge, and it deserves a story and gameplay mechanics to match. The world this game is set in seems tailormade for a huge franchise if they get this first game right. I'm having fun just imagining the other alt history settings possible (I think restoration era Japan or raj era India would be really cool to see)

The game so far is so visually pleasing. Nah fuck that, its sex on a tv screen, but I hope their focus on visuals doesn't interfere with story or gameplay.

I will be pissed if this game looks so good then ends up playing like shit.

I mean I'd like to believe, but actual games rarely ever match the ideas represented in concept art.

See: Every Halo game ever made.
I'm going based off what I've read. They said there will be slower areas/downtime (similar to TLOU most likely) every now and then. Your group are basically like The Fantastic Four of the time lol. Anyway, there will be areas where we'll be treated to the sights in Victorian England.

No. On those black bars, the pixels are off. There is absolutely nothing to worry about. Now, if they put the HUD elements in there, then maybe, but no less than any other stationary HUD.

What do you mean "the pixels are off"? That the screen is not using those parts of itself so there's no worry about a burn in?

Half-breeds (monsters) as well as human rebel enemies are what we know of so far.

The rebels are intriguing me, wonder why would the order be managing them rather than the local authority. They must be helping the half-breeds.

There's basically an authoritarian/elite ruling class in the England in the game, and these 'rebels' have broken off from society and feel disenfranchised with the leadership, etc. Like I said, these guys, The 'Order' are pretty much like the Delta Force of the time, elite marshalls if you will.

Who knows, maybe they're tasked by to take them out by this leadership, or maybe they have a different reason.

The tech is all in-house.
My respects to the team. I'm just happy to see the work going into it being presented the way this has. The GOW PSP titles were also fantastic in what they achieved on the hardware, alongside a lot of fun gameplay. Heard some things about The Order through the grapevine that I'd very much love to see.

I see a lot of potential on Ready at Dawn. Played all their PSP games and had fun with them. Ghost of Sparta, to me, is a better GoW than the console counterparts. Really digged the Story, Graphics and the gameplay, albeit being a little too short. I hope this game is bigger and fully featured. If they nail the shooting, the weapons and the mechanics, it can be even a fun little multiplayer game like gears was in the early life of the x360. If it's short, I don't see it really selling well.

Yeah, except your comparison is way off because it's not a generational difference and we've seen that games look just as good without those visual hacks.

It wasn't a comparison, it was an example. A demonstration of an ethic that doesn't value what Digital Foundry write about and instead focuses on the look of the game on your TV screen.

Ah ok, gotcha. I don't usually look at concept art, but I'll make a note of that. :)

I think it looks very nice , i hope to see streets with lots of people to interact with and stores for to buy charms, upgrades, etc... against werepeople, werestuffs, errr things! ...those! :)
Like the image shinobi posted above :)

One thing i dunno if i like (i think i don't) is the top/bottom black bars i have to see more gameplay vids first to be sure.

I'm expecting a twist with this now haha.

Actually this and the other black and white one were the initial concepts for E3 teaser poster.

Even this has a strange resolution. I CAN'T PRINT THIS STUFF, RAD. Still cool though!

Stahp now I'm just going to be disappointed when all of this isn't in the game...

"Rebels" in video games always feel like an excuse to have human-like enemies.

I think it serve a purpose for the narrative, like The Order is supposed to be the group fighting half-breed and protecting humans but now they're fighting against human rebel too, a good setup for some personal conflict for the main character.

Such a cool looking game...it's got something about it that definitely has me interested. It is without a doubt on my "to play" list.

I feel like this is going to be one of those issues that seems like a bigger deal initially than it is once we're all playing the game. The experience shouldn't be too dissimilar from watching letterboxed movies, and I think most of us adjust to the change in aspect ratio pretty quickly in those cases.

I prefer get the stuff in the pause menu. I can't be bother to find which shops that I can upgrade health bar.

I don't want everything only get from NPC. I don't mind the option like PS3 Home, you get clothes from mall or using the menu.

D:

I imagine the game like this (speculation):
At the begining read the newspaper, hear rumors about beasts and solve the issue, then with time people will know you better and ask for yer help, for example someone says there is a werewolf on his manor ,you go in with yer team, explore kill the thing then get paid in coins, with those coins you can buy alchemy stuff for pots, liquids for special stuff, upgrade the alchemy lab , the hideout, buy new gun parts, armor parts, a horse, or a carriage with horses for yer team and for to carry more loot or for to put a captured monster inside a cage for to be studied at the lab, a zeppelin, maybe even gadgets for to get on top of the buildings. At night the guards would ring a bell for the people to go home and that would be a good time for free hunt and then sell the skins, teeth, etc of the beasts.

For monsters i would love to see, werevolves, vampires, hags, leprechauns, harpies, ghosts, zombies, killmoulis, etc ... with all their variations.

EDIT: should also have detective stuff ala Sherlock Holmes.

I hope there are stores, hotels, haunted manors, haunted forests, sewers, trains.
This awesome city can't be empty inside :(

A man can dream :3
