awesome awesome episode. True American! Nick's coat, them pre-night dancing, Jess's bat-knife-hammer. And giving us development instead of becoming too static.

Huh, what a really very dumb post. I mean, not for the not liking the show part, that's whatever. Opinions, feel how you want. but saying relationships are only for girls, that kind of thing? very vacant. and ignorant of/uncomfortable with the fact that everyone is in relationships all the time. whatev though

It took me a year and a half to realize I wasn't enjoying this show but I kept watching it and enjoying it until I was able to define something to dislike enough to stop watching.

In other words, my Testosterone levels got a funny look from my one friend on XBL so I'm dropping the show.

Well, bye then. If you're not secure enough in your manhood that's okay. Me, I love this shit. And I'm a straight white male. I don't know why I needed to add color to this but here we are. Don't know why you would force yourself to like something you were actively trying to find something wrong with.

Lmao this is dubious post of the year material.

I hope so. Lamonster is silly too. This show is great. Chick show? No way. If this is a chick show, The Office was one too in its early days. This is just a way to get beautiful people into our TV sets every week. And I like it.

Saying this show is a chick show either because it stars a female lead or because there are relationships would make like 90% of shows chick shows. The majority of sitcoms do the "will they won't they" trope, Friends practically lived off it.

So I always hoped Jess and Nick wouldn't ever, ever have anything happen between them but that was one of my favorite episodes aside from the one where Winston stripped to his briefs.

I'm pretty much in love with this show thanks to Amazon and iTunes.

I think it might be my favourite too. Although I'm really enjoying this show, it's been hard to remember particular episodes as stand-outs, which speaks to its consistency (or maybe just my habit of viewing it in big blocks of episodes), but this is an exception.

I think my favourite moment (besides the end) is Schmidt surrending his shirt.

"Wait, he's doing it on purpose! He's trying to impress her!"
"USA" :lol

I believe I heard Smith yell "It's Abu Nazir!" :p

Lovely episode again :D

edit: Found a gif of it.

This show is having an incredible season. Mostly due to the guys becoming real, 3D characters. Even Winston. I lamented how underused and underwritten he was last season, but this season he's becoming way more involved. I like his new friend, and was hoping to see her in a bra as well. Great last scene, but I'm sure they'll do what all shows do and pretend it didnt happen etc blah blah blah. Doesn't change how great the episode was, and it shall remain on my DVR for another few viewings. So long, Trenchcoat Nick. We hardly knew you.

God, you were so wrong about the bolded.

I wasn't thrilled with the way they broke up Jess and Sam (felt weakly motivated on his part) but otherwise, this was a lot of fun. Too many great one-liners to count.

This show is on fire lately.

Yeah, it's kind of crazy how much this show has grown. I remember ditching it initially in Season 1. Then eventually I got hooked when marathoning it during the summer. I've pretty much loved most of 2.

They just did a good job building up the characters, and making it an awesome ensemble show.

My only criticism would be that there is no way in hell someone who looks like Cece would have trouble finding a suitor. Even in her profession, she'd meet some rich bastard at a party and find a partner that way.

I thought the issue was, she was trying to marry within her parents wishes. So it wasn't so much an issue of not being able to get a suitor, but finding a suitor that fit her parents needs/expectations or whatever.

It was established before she met Schmidt that she dated any guy she wanted. But after dating him, she realized she wanted someone more like him (in terms of personality). Hence her dating that other loser guy.

It might be unrealistic. But I think it's at least consistent with the character, and her identity/romance crisis or whatever you want to call it.

I know right? One of the weirdest reasons to drop a show. Honestly, one of the strangest posts I've ever seen on a forum.

God, you were so wrong about the bolded.

I was so happy to be proven wrong. I just hope it doesn't slowly disappear over the next few episodes. It's a fun dynamic that ultimately could doom the show. The will-they-or-won't-they schtick has killed some good shows. Anyway, I thought the episode was good, not great. Winton's storlyline was too small, but he was great regardless. Schmidt and Cece's frenetic scene at the end is something I could watch all day. TURBAN ON!

Bullshit. Paid for the season pass in iTunes and there is an ad for other fox shows at the beginning. Lame.

FX is doing that too. Archer season 4 on Amazon is getting blasted in the user ratings by people pissed off about all the FX promotional shit in the episodes they're paying money to buy.

Later episodes just have a fox logo at the start (that is fine ) and preview for other shows at the end of the episode. That is fine as well. It was the first few with ten second or longer ads for other fox shows that were annoying.

God damn this was a great episode. Laughed pretty hard numerous times.

"I'm a squirrel. You're my nut. Winter's coming, I'm going to store in my cheek girl."

I loved Nick the most from the very start. I can relate to his character the most. Throwing your potential away, fucking up things in life, being grumpy cynic who makes weird faces and is dude who pretty much always means well.

I do think they've gone a bit too far with his zaniness this season, I preferred him when he was a bit more grounded. That said, these last two episodes were great.

He thinks he's being way zanier and out there than he actually is, when in reality he's just being stupid in not a particularly weird or fun way for the others. That's the joke. He wore a women's coat for a whole day because the writers wanted to emphasise how massively he fails at trying to be interesting. Same reason he got wasted at the zoo. The other characters pointing out how dumb his shit is is the funniest part of the show to me.

Stuff like mute Chinese man and the time-travelling hobo were a bit much, yeah, but that's typical early-season try-hard attitude almost all sitcoms have.

Funniest episode for me in awhile. Schmidt will Calcutta bitch! That was some funny stuff. Love no-filter Nick, too. Says the most inappropriate stuff at the most inopportune moments. I'm not the biggest fan of Zooey, but she's been looking adorable lately.

Haven't had any leggy outfits lately. :( love her thighs, and I am not usually a thigh man.

I remember now. I actually went back and looked through Ep 15.

Its funny, I started watching New Girl because it had a black guy (I admit it, watching shows with all-white casts, doesn't entertain me as much) then he was basically just token filler until halfway through this season. He was literally the only character to not be almost naked until Episode 6 or 7 of this season.

They talk about his junk a lot though. One of my favorite Winston moments was when he rips off his pants every time he freaks out. I think the writers/creators went into the show with a distinct plan for Coach (Wayans), and then they had to scrap it immediately when Happy Endings got picked back up. Winston is criminally underused in season 1, but he's been getting a lot better material in season 2(getting Schmidt to buy him crack was hilarious). Some of my favorite moments are when it's clear he's laughing at Jake Johnson. Naturally laughing, not part of the script. The show could use more brown people, as Schmidt would say.
