I did notice the cockpit view suffers on 1080p but from the bumper view everything was fine..

Why do these people insist on pushing "1080p"? It's not even 1080p. PD is such a contradicting company. Yamauchi said in the past that a game is not a game if it doesn't run at 60fps, but will throw in 1080p support anyway without caring that it makes the game suffer from constant frame dropping. They will absolutely not outsource any aspect of car modelling so that they don't compromise their supposedly high standards, but have no qualms about throwing 800 PS2 cars in the mix.

Well, on the upside since they've been pushing for 1080p so much this gen it should be a slam dunk for them when they move to the PS4.

GT5 was pretty inconsistent running 60fps at launch as well. After some updates it was rock solid 60fps. I'm not defending them; I doubt I'll buy this game.

Can anyone quickly confirm how long the load times are for an average race?

Once the game installs the particular track for the first time you ever play it (install is now done completely in the background), it takes 20 seconds from the entering the event from the menu until you are prompted to the start.

All menus are literally flying compared to GT5, it is 100% streamlined experience. Ability to recall the garage, cars and tuning menu from anywhere by pressing start is a given as well.

GTAuto operations are also fast and responsive. Change oil, chamge rims, whatever. Few seconds for anything.

Only slow thing is loading/saving the cars into the Depository garage (cars you own but you don't want to have them on the main list). Game probably holds them in the separate part of the game file and have to completely overwrite/recall them. However, I guess that will not be oftenly used so it is not a big deal at all.

This is how the headlights are handled in GT5

GT5 runs fine in “1080P”(runs great when compared with GT Academy demo) the things only gets uglier when you have 16 cars together in the first corner of the race .

Man, IQ seems pretty poor. I know it's YT but looks rather blurry and there are jaggies. Is this game really running at 1440x1080 resolution? GT5P still had the best IQ out of all the PS3 games.

The OT is up – feel free to judge me :)

There is a lot of missing information, and I'm hesitant to fill the gaps with unofficial, leaked info. I will keep updating and tweaking as the release approaches and the launch event happens on Monday and Tuesday in Ronda.

Suggestions welcome, criticism expected. Let's do this.
