You fuckin' shittin' me? I seriously thought this was a troll thread when I first clicked on the video. It genuinely sounded like a joke, like intending to be comedic. Or like someone else that hated M83 made a song with the intention of making their music sound as comically awful as possible. I'm kind of stunned.

Not feeling it. Still confident the album will be great. Hammock released a new song yesterday as well with preorder for their new album. It sounded different as well but still solid. This one is a pass for me.

yikes... not liking this at all :(

I really love earlier M83, especially Before The Dawn Heals Us for it's noisey atmosphere, or the nostalgic dream pop on Saturdays=Youth. I was a bit down on Hurry Up, We're Dreaming because it ended up being too pompous/ambitious for it's own sake. But that new song feels like almost lazy, edm remix friendly, almost cookie cutter synth-pop. I'm not surprised tho considering the massive pop they had after Midnight City.

You know, I really liked "that song" from Midnight City - was hugely nostalgic and inspirational - it always brought up good or crazy memories. So it's nice that you sold me on their other work.

Listened to it for 30 seconds and clicked off.

The piano backing track makes it sound like some drunken karaoke performance. I honestly thought it was a joke at first.

Mmm yeah this is just not good. The chorus has waaay too much going on. Sounds like buzzing noise.
*nit picking here*
but that distorted dog mouth for the video is just really stupid. It like "Lets be super funny and have a super cheesy talking dog!" Weak.

wow, i really like it

the start reminds me of Miike Snow

It has an addictive quality but it sort of just fizzles with no payoff even with the build-up. I have been saying "do it, try it" to myself though FUCK.

Not what I was expecting, but it was fun.

Gonna miss Morgan on this new album.

Not really feeling it.

Saturdays = Youth is a perfect record. After falling in love with it I bought all the M83 albums. He's OK. There's some good stuff in his backlog, but also a lot of disposable electronic beeps and boops. The latest album was disappointing. I'm not sure if he's actually that good. Having the one perfect album elevates him against the rest of the beep boop world, but might also be his high point. Like, by a long shot.

I just have one question : if I like Midnight City what other songs would I like?

Try Steve McQueen and We Own The Sky. You will probably enjoy the entirety of the album, 'Hurry Up We're Dreaming.' If you like that then try Saturday's = Youth, but It's a much less upbeat album overall. Depends on your preference.

Korallreven - An Album By Korallreven (2010)

wow this is shitty.

Oh wait the chorus just hit. May be salvageable.

They should still bring back their shoegaze-dreampop-ish sound.

How dare he experiment? How dare he?

This is one of those songs that's going to grow on people, I think.

It makes the full album promising for me.
You sir, I like.

Um, this song is awesome. Can't really get what you guys are saying.
I'd say I like you as well but this isn't a surprise to me, I've noticed you and I having very similar
awesome
music tastes over the years. *highfive*

I think this is a great song.
It really is.

The reaction to this song reminds me exactly of the initial reactions to Daft Punk's RAM album, man oh man were people so immediately turned off upon first hearing some of the songs.

I love that he is taking his music in a new direction (subtle trademark M83 can still be heard throughout the entire song though, so it's not like it's drastic). I'm pumped.

Not really digging it, especially around the 2:45 of the song, doesn't vibe well with me. Hoping the rest of the album is better.
