they could be doing something with lobotomization/human minds in artificial bodies. Or even the inverse of that.

This game looks fucking phenomenal, but that wasn't a great trailer, surprised by the amount of footage from the demo. Perhaps they're just holding their cards close to the chest not to reveal too much, I thought the last few RE7 trailers coming up to launch weren't so hot, either.

Well the Japanese demo seemed to default to English audio and subtitles if I recall, though maybe it started with them just because it detected my system settings.

I can't decide between this and Mass Effect as my second March purchase, I already have Horizon preordered and don't want to overdo it when I realistically don't even need a second game.
I mean, i'm biased as fuck because i dislike modern Bioware and Nier is my favorite game of all time, but i'd say that - if your desire for both games is completely equal - you should buy Nier over ME because Yoko Taro and P* need that support overall more than Bioware does.
That was my thinking as well, I guess I'll wait out until impressions hit post JP-release and let that tip the scale for me on way or another.
Ahh this trailer raised my hype level to new extremes when I promised myself that XV would be the last game I get hyped for. Who am I kidding though, its NIER!! A game I didn't think a sequel would see the light of day, ever Q_Q
Also please don't let 2B die and be replaced by A2, that would suck as I don't find A2 appealing as a character at all + I am totally shipping 2B and 9S, I know this is a bad idea since its a Yoko Taro's games but fuck it.

I tried the demo last night (LTTP), and its not for me, sadly.
The attacks felt like they needed more work. Comparing the attack system/gameplay to Bayonetta, its not as fun. And yeah, I looked at the control map and knew what to do (dodge and all that stuff). Still not as fun as Bayonetta, or (some of you might want strangle me for this) God of War's simple attack combos.
The enemies and the world is not interesting to me (abandoned world filled with robots), so thats a small turn off from the game as well. Coming from the same creators though, I'm sure the story will be surprising.
Just sticking out my opinion out there to see if someone else agrees.

YoHRA units Type A and Type B are named as such due to connection to Ending A and Ending B conventions in Taro's games.

If its anything like Nier (which I hope it is) the open world is just a place for the story to take place. Not even close to the focus of the game. Its all about the story. And this one actually has great combat! So as long as the story is good, the game will be awesome.
