New Offical APF 2k8 Xbox 360 League Thread: Here comes the rain again!

Ok since we're 70 bronze short we HAVE to make this reasonable for everyone. So the only thing that sounds reasonable is that we have the first 3 rounds of bronze be fully exclusive to picking from ingame list ONLY and the last 3 rounds you have to option of just making a custom player or picking one from the list. And the custom player should be able to be any player name that played in the NFL that is not currently playing.
Because if we go until the bronze run out in the 4th round of bronze 65% of the way through you will run out of players. So this seems to be the only fair way to do it.

So when are we thinking about having the draft and starting the league? Personally, I would like to wait at least a few days so that we can all play the game and see what players we actually like to play as (how they control, etc.), although I am pumped for the draft and really looking forward to building my team... Pick #28 kind of sucks, but at least I'll get two good players in a row, basically.

FMT...how will this work being that the game doesn't seem to force you to pick unique players (unless I'm reading things completely wrong)....

i will post in-depth details tomorrow on how the draft will work. but here's the jist of it:
the draft will be in either an AIM chat or MIRC (up to you guys)
we will have some type of site or list with the to the second players available.
once the draft is complete, you go into the game and create the team you created in the draft.
take that team into the league and you're done!
now, i have the draft planned for this sunday at 10 am pst. if this doesn't work for you, tell me. if NO ONE can make that time, ill try to pick a different time. does friday work? saturday? sunday later? give me some input guys.
also, if you just can't make it anytime this weekend, put together as comprehensive a list as you can, separated by gold/silver/bronze, in the order that you'd want players and ill draft for you.

I just thought of a big potential problem with a normal style draft. What happens if (by choice or by being forced by other drafters) a team gets all silver/bronze or all bronze players and no golds/silver? Will the game allow you to create-a-team with no golds/silvers? Will that player (if forced to take no golds/silvers) be able to create-a-player to make up for those missing players? Perhaps we should just have drafts for each tier of players to ensure everyone gets an equal share? This is all assuming the game doesn't let you proceed without players from each tier or let you have more than a certain number of one tier (because with 330 players needed, we're all gonna have more than 6 bronzes, which is what I thought the game's limit was supposed to be).

everyone is limited to 2 golds, 3 silvers, and 6 bronze's. how would someone not end up with 2 golds? when you create your team the game forces you to pick 2 golds, 3 silvers, and 6 bronzes.

So we either need to limit players for this first league or create a shitload of new players by group vote and have a template to create-a-player properly for those who end up having to draft the additions.
P.S. I'm not saying I will draft this way but just trying to point out any hiccups that could occur on draft day.

I won't be able to draft Sunday at 10 AM PST, but I will be able to do a draft Sunday after 6 PM PST or Thursday anytime.

Can't wait to get home and try this out. I wasn't excited for this game at all, but the prospects of online leagues with this game are more exciting to me this year than Madden for some reason.

Also I seriously believe when it comes to the bronze players we need to just be able to create who we want because this is going to be absurd. There are hardly any players in some of these positions.

Also, is it true that every player on each of the tiers as the same overall stats as another player in the same position on the same tier, but some players just excel in certain categories?
I would ask for it to be IRC. Sure, it'll probably be hard to fully keep up with who's taken and who's left, but should work out alright. I'd have to dl AIM and stuff for that.
I don't have a job, so I gotta base stoopid finacial stuff...
Or sell some games I don't really play anymore...actually, that might work, I'll check on that tomorrow.

Note to self: 360 games don't work in regular Xboxen, PSX, or PS2s...and don't even try to put it in the gamecube...that was just a disaster.

IF you cannot make it, please make as comprehensive list as possible of the players you would want in each tier. i know that is kind of a lot of work but the alternative is to just be there for the draft. if you'd prefer i pick for you i really dont have a problem with that, but realize that i'm in this league to win it too
also, because it is impossible to agree upon, i'm going to do another randomized list AFTER the draft for team/city selection order. lots of people want dallas, or los angeles, or whatever, and there is no other way to do it. but, so as to avoid confusion, i will be doing that draft order in the next few days.
