Doesn't look like plastic to me. But hey, plastic looking shaders on cars would still be better than plastic looking hair our skin on characters right? And i don't need to work on shaders for a living to know that.

And PGR3 looked great in motion, can't wait to see this one.
 
You guys are too quick on the trigger. He probably shouldn't have posted the first comment unsubstantiated, but come on...he does this professionally. It's what he does. You can't call someone a troll for posting their opinion on something, especially an "expert" opinion.

Whatever, I think it looks cool.

Do you think it's fair to criticize the game at this point in it's development? I've heard Fall 07' release so Bizarre still has some time to butter everything up yet- no?

WTF man... If thats sucky car shading then I want sucky car shading in every racing game.

Hey, no offense because everyone is certainly entitled to their opinion. But many of us consider it bad form for a dev of a rival platform to pooh-pooh the work on a competing console.

Che can tell you all about that one. :D

I was giving my opinion about current shots, if you want to extend it to the shipped game it's your fault, not mine
 
He's just judging the screenshots. It's what Gaffers do in every single screenshot thread. Of course there is the looming "it's not done" concept. He shouldn't be jumped on for posting his opinion.

He said the environments look great and the car shaders are still, in his opinion, lacking. It's just his opinion.

WoW those PGR4 Pics are drop dead gorgeous! :D

Insane Visuals + Weather Effects + Team Livery System + Motorcycles = Must buy for me!
 
So many fallen warriors (warriors lol) before the battle even begins. Everyone's on the edge. I mean the cars didn't look spectacular in the earlier screens shown off, and they still need quick a bit of work. Chill out guys.

We've seen better and better already exists in GT:HD. There's little question that Bizarre will refine its shaders before release and there's no reason to doubt their ability either. As of today though, I think Nostromo is correct.
 
I think it looks great! Yeah, it doesn't quite capture that metal-under-wax sheen in shots as well as something like GT, but then again, the PGR games look quite awesome in motion. The light doesn't bounce off of the material quite as real as that stuff...but to say it sucks...well, that's pretty discriminating. Your opinion, of course.

Can you explain why you think the shading isn't good? What is it that you don't like?
 
bikes are awesome... it'll probably be a lot of fun to ride those with all of the weather effects.

i bet motogp 07 is gonna flop now

His first post was typical GAFer troll. Small, even has the confirmed, with no insight.

Just because he is a dev doesn't mean he doesn't have to play by the rules like others do, why the hell should he have more freedom to "troll" than me?

I'm sure you don't. Heck, even the Microsoft guys hook up with with their friends from Nintendo for some multiplayer gaming. In the real world, who cares who you work for... it's just a 9-5 job. But on a public gaming forum filled with rabid loyalists, each and every comment from a dev is analyzed and dissected. Fair or not.

As if Bizarre are incapable of getting their cars shading right. Of course I could've read you wrong.
 
Forza 2, DiRT, MGP '07, and PGR 4 in one year. That's an unbelievable year of racing. Only thing missing is a new TOCA game.

I said above he shouldn't have posted the first comment like he did. It was just inflammatory. I guess it doesn't matter now though.

He was just guessing the material. He was wrong, though. He should've said "Polygon cars confirmed".

Well, his first post was the kind of troll that makes a statement without any reasoning behind it that isn't usually tolerated around these parts...unless you're a known personality or it was actually funny.
 
How will bikes vs cars work exactly? I'm sure Bizarre have thought of that but it must be a tricky balancing act.

Only difference I see is the car color, which mainly has to do with the environmental lighting.
