It was reported back in July by Nintendo Life that a "massive amiibo restock" was on the way. As reported on by My Nintendo News yesterday, Ajimi, a Famiboard forum member, claims to work at a retailer in France and has apparently seen the new amiibo inventory.
What's interesting about this batch of Nintendo figurines is actually what's on the back of the packaging. Nintendo has curiously removed key parts from the amiibo packaging. What's been omitted by Nintendo has seemingly hinted at the company's plans for the near future.
In a side-by-side comparison, the Kirby amiibo on the right explicitly declares that it is compatible with the Nintendo 3DS, the Wii U, and the Nintendo Switch. Additionally, it's explained what the Kirby figurine does specifically for Super Smash Bros. for the 3DS and Wii U, though it can also be used for various other games on Nintendo hardware.
However, the new batch of amiibo has none of this on their rear parts of their packaging. There doesn't appear to be any mentions of the 3DS, Wii U, or Switch.
