A lot of cynicism in this thread.

As far as this goes, I think it looks very good. I don't care about the "Remember this?" aspect of it. If you're going to "pass the torch", you have to appeal to the past also.

It was apparently good enough to get Murray and everyone else on board and he was vehemently against anything Ghostbusters for a long, long time.

I believe a scant few people did see screenings last year before Covid caused all the delays and said it was very good.

I'm very happy it is being made and if it ends up being a bit mediocre, it'll still be better than that 2016 travesty.

Deepfake aside, I'm of the mindset that passing the torch is fine in certain films, but there are limits.

If isn't Harrison as Indy, fuck it, I'm not interested in it. If it isn't Arnie as the T800, same deal. I think certain people and roles are irreplaceable and once they've kind of closed their roles via movies like this, that's it for them. No coming back.

Buncha people wanna make meme jokes about Harrison in Indy V, but the reality is many of us will be lucky to see that age, much less be in that kind of shape.

Hell, Sly was in his 60s in Rocky Balboa and threw and took real punches against an actual boxer, also got speared by Stone Cold in the original Expendables.

“Forced diversity” is a valid criticism only in historical movies where it doesn’t make sense to represent certain races in context. Having a diverse cast of people in the most general sense isn’t a problem since it reflects reality.

It still applies... Winston was the LONE black guy in that cast..

We haven't seen the sequel yet and ONE black girl isn't a diversity hire... Shoot, she might not even BE the only black or nonwhite person in the movie. We've ONLY seen these two trailers.
