From the outside, it'll be 1923 again. Limestone walls rising like a fortress, standing sentinel in refurbished parkland. It's the view Babe Ruth had when he went to work in the house they built for him. On the inside, a mix of modernity and antiquity has officials from City Hall, Albany and the Bronx gushing.

Haven't the Yankees not won a World Series since this plan was approved? Hmm......seems like the curse of the Babe has just moved on to something different.

Haven't the Cubs not won a World Series since that idiot fan interfered with that foul ball? Oh wait...

the big addition is that they added tampon dispensers in the locker rooms just for ARod and Garroid.

No,no, those are just cosmetic. The big deal is the murals adorning the right field wall:

God, I still can't believe last year's collapse.

I can. It was great! :D

As nice as it is for the Yanks to get a new stadium (although I'm partial to the old one), I wish the Yanks could buy some confidence. Lately the Yankees have been pissing me off. They have now lost 3 straight, even with a start by their ace. Boo! I'll take a few wins over a new stadium. With that said, the mock-up looks good.

Yup.

What the hell, have the local sports teams gone stadium crazy? Jets, Giants, Nets, now the Yankees? There's not enough real estate in the area for all this!

Seriously. Under certain circumstances, I can understand the desire for a new stadium. In this case, while it would be nice to have a fresh new stadium, I cannot. The reason being that they will build it directly across the street from the "classic" Yankee stadium, and will screw over all the kids who use that area for after school recreational activities. I'm just partial to the old stadium because of the history it has. In any case, I'll still support our team, ass soon as they get their heads out of their arses and win some games. :)

That sucks, but they do a much better job at giving new stadiums in baseball personality than hockey. New hockey arenas are a bunch of clones. :(

I've always heard that Yankee Stadium is in a part of town that isn't exactly the safest place to be when there isn't a ball game. So if that's true (I really wouldn't know), why the heck would they build the new digs right next to it?

I'm not really for this, but at least it's still in "da Bronx". :D

There probably isn't much space anywhere else in the Bronx to put it, and if they moved it to another borough, they couldn't be called the Bronx Bombers anymore. BTW, Bx isn't as dangerous as it was in the 90's.

The current Yankee Stadium is on 161st street in the Bronx. The new Yankee stadium will be moved one block up, to 162nd street in the same area. As far as the area goes, the current Yankee stadium isn't in the best of all areas. During the daytime, it's an "ok" area, at night, there's a high probability that you could run into trouble. Directly up the block from the Yankee stadium is a big courthouse, and up even further is a huge 10-story welfare center. I don't live in that part of the Bronx, but my friend used to, and let me tell you, there's nothing pretty about the area at night. It's not the most dangerous area in the Bronx, but it's no Riverdale either. They have their fair share of druggies, thugs, and drug dealers at night. With that said, I agree with Beezy in the sense that it's not quite a dangerous as it used to be in the 90s.

Same reason every other cities sports teams are built in the most rank, shittiest ass part of town: land is cheap. Sure, you may get shot, robbed, or raped, but at least the owners don't have to pay that much!
