That design... uh.. wow. It's obvious what they wanted to do but the execution is remarkably terrible.
They should (literally) go back the drawing board and use the first sketch as inspiration again, but follow it a little more closely maybe?
Too cruel?
Pretty rough, yeah.Looks literally two generations apart lmao. MN9 looks like a PS2 game rendered in PCSX2.
I don't hate the design, but she went from cute to creepy in the transition from 2d to 3d. Wish the final version was a bit more cute lol
Yes, but i think paypal could be an option.at least was with BloodstainedSo if some nameless fool idiot didn't back the Kickstarter for this when they should have, how do they go.. about getting it? Just wait till it's done and out on whatever platform we pick?
Dehumanized the face, subtracted the chintacles, and simplified (I suppose?) the four arms by wrapping the lower two around the upper. All this said and done, there may be a very good reason for her design that we haven't seen yet. Either way, still totally excited.
Dehumanize the face and give 'er some good ol' googly eyes. That'll do it.
Oh, and no tentacle beard. It's... weird.
EDIT: Oh God. I figured out exactly what it is about her that bothers me.
She looks like a goddamn Cabbage Patch Kid.
At the risk of being the asshole backseat character designer (you know the guy):

How does that fish live in the hair of the Splatoon shop girl's hair without water???How does the water stay in her bowl?
According to the deep lore of Splatoon it doesn't need it.How does that fish live in the hair of the Splatoon shop girl's hair without water???
They're video games.
There are a lot of characters and since these guys were from Rare and some of their designs were questionable, I'll take a few bad eggs out of the lot. This is the only character that I'm not really a fan of so far, just doesn't look right.

And at the risk of being the OTHER asshole backseat character designer, I decided to do my own take on how I would've gone with Dr. Puzz's look:
Priorities; got rid of the weird tentacle beard, and instead gave her "hair" as the tentacles from her weird jellyfish cap thing. Also removed her nose entirely, because an aquatic character like her looks bizarre with one. Other than that, I left her bottom portion intact, because I quite like how it looks.
Cuuuute. I love how you took her bottom set of tentacles and wrapped them around her arm... tentacles. The eyes also fix one of the main issues I have with her actual design.

Y'all people are crazy, Dr. Puzz is beautiful just the way she is, yer all sounding like all those loons who want to reduce Laylee's wonderfully bulbous nose~
That said, the fan designs are cute on their own, but fuck them, i like Dr. Puzz the way she is, she looks like a cute scientist suffered a cute but horrifying mutation!

Sorry if might have been answered but that game got a 2017 timeslot right? Or end of 2016?
So will this maybe Come out before Mighty No. 9? :-DI believe it's just "2016" at the moment. End of 2016 or early in 2017 is my guess.

If the game turns out as good as it seems to be I could see microsoft hiring them to do a new Banjo or Conker.
Microsoft doesn't need Playtonic to make a new Banjo or Conker sequel.
Especially since Chris Seavor, the main driving force of BFD, doesn't even work at Playtonic.Microsoft doesn't need Playtonic to make a new Banjo or Conker sequel.
Not sure if it was explained properly, but Dr. Puzz is in charge of Yooka's transformation machine, so the idea behind her design is that she's had a small 'accident' during her experiments
Needless to say she looks at her best animated in-game.
