Actually, I wouldn't be at all surprised if EA made a bid for them. EA's been looking to break into Japan for awhile now (they just set up EA Tokyo Studio this year), and out of all the big 6, Capcom looks like the most vulnerable target.

They'd welcome investment, but I think they'd resist takeover...

they were hoping at one point that Nintendo would invest and not do the latter remember. If Ubi shows EAs willingness to invest in good publishers, then yeah Capcom would be a good choice out of the 6.

Nintendo should've invested when Capcom was begging them. I'm still holding out for a Capcom/Namco merger though.

Where EA's concerned there's not much difference. I'm sure EA would much rather have a controlling stake with veto power (like they now hold with UbiSoft) rather than try to eat the whole company. I also doubt Capcom would welcome any level of investment.... it'd likely be seen as a hostile move by a foreign competitor. EA might as well be Microsoft in Japan.

I would rather settle for that, only because it would mean bioware working exclusively on consoles.

Still I want them to stay 3rd party.
