Newsweek: Donald Trump helped spread Russian disinformation about Hillary Clinton

I remember reading that Trump doesn't own a computer. All of the news he reads come from the people below him printing out online articles and handing them to him.
I now think his sons are feeding him right wing propaganda.

The sad part is they will spin this by saying Hillary uses the media to plant disinformation or something along those lines. I hope this story gets out to whatever undecided independents/moderates are left.

I'm fucked up wtf is going onhere. Is this for real? Wtf do we do then?

It didn't only appear on Sputnik; it's possible Trump's camp got this dogshit story from other reputable sources like r/The_Donald.

Nothing to see here other than the usual Trump being willing to parrot lies and misinformation and his base continuing to not give a shit.. as long as they have something to boo or cheer at.

I don't blame the Newsweek author for being upset; and the reddit crap doesn't show up in normal internet searching. I only found it because I had a hunch and went specifically to r/The_Donald.

Okay... godamn. That was a hell of a thing to open a laptop to in this state.

Is this really even "news" at this point? You could use the exact same topic title so many times this campaign.

Way ahead of you, Hillary Clinton's a demon. Smells like sulfur, apparently

I still don't understand who these reasonable undecideds are. If you give a damn about voting you've had plenty of time to hear and read and notice a boat load of shit and should know one way or the other.

If somehow after all that you still don't know or have remained clueless and are just now paying attention... You cant be trusted to vote well at all. Might as well do eeny meeny miiny moe.

Not worth courting.

Would his campaign really accept something from Reddit, though? Have they done that before?

Well it all links to WikiLeaks; if you read the leak without paying much attention it looks more nefarious than it is.

But I wouldn't put it past Trump to KNOW it's misinformation and speak about it anyways; as the Newsweek article stated even Sputnik deleted their article about it.. no way Trump or his camp would issue a correction.

So will the Trump supporters still defend him after this, or continue to be morons & spin it?

There isn't anything he can say or do that will make his hardcore supporters stop supporting him. Like he said, he could shoot someone in the middle of fifth avenue and wouldn't lose a supporter.

There's something going on with him and Russia

During Sunday's debate, Donald Trump once again said he doesn't know whether Russia is trying to hack the U.S. election, despite Friday's statement by the U.S. intelligence community pointing the finger at Putin -- and despite the fact that Trump was personally briefed on Russia's role in the hacks by U.S. officials.

A senior U.S. intelligence official assured NBC News that cybersecurity and the Russian government's attempts to interfere in the 2016 election have been briefed to, and discussed extensively with, both parties' candidates, surrogates and leadership, since mid-August. "To profess not to know at this point is willful misrepresentation," said the official. "The intelligence community has walked a very thin line in not taking sides, but both candidates have all the information they need to be crystal clear."

If I understand correctly, the floor he has reached here is significantly bigger than the only trump group. So alot of those these people aren't necessarily defending him but think Hillary must be worse.

You're preaching to the choir. But those people I'm talking about they do exist. Ken Bone said he is still not sure who to vote for earlier today on CNN. As long as people like him are still undecided there is at least a chance they will vote Hillary. People like him in battleground states are who Hillary's campaign needs to target.

Read it after it was posted in the other thread. Trump's Russia connections really don't get enough attention by voters. It's ridiculous and scary... and kind of hilariously weird coming from the republican side...

I think at this point they need some kind of evidence on tape to really care about it.

A crazy thought went into my mind

What if Russia is just sabotaging Trump at this point by making really overt shows of actions that would 'support' trump.

If I were Hillary, this would make me a bit sad as it shouldn't even be a question as to who to vote for. How can you possibly still be undecided at this point?

The Russians are basically begging for a Trump presidency - There's no way they're rooting for Hillary.

Conservatives spent decades tar and feathering their opponents as communists yet they nominate a Russian puppet candidate.

The irony here can give you whiplash.

Russia isn't communist and Putin certainly isn't.

Putin is the ultimate free-market strong leader wet dream of the GOP and alt-right. He's the embodiment of what they have been politically aspiring to achieve for the past seven decades.

Huh? What Russia are you talking about?

If you asked me 8 years when I was browsing r/fffuuuuu that one day reddit would not only significantly influence a US election, but also be used as a puppet for Russia.... I would have laughed my ass off.

Also I didn't really browse fffffuuuu, shit was cancer

At this point does it really matter? With what is at stake, we need to keep engaging with the people still on the fence, not dismiss them. Republicans have worked long and hard to smear Hillary knowing eventually she would be the democratic nominee so its not surprising to me that a lot of people are affected by their bullshit. I will give people the benefit of the doubt until they prove to me they are deplorable.

Being on the fence after word #1 from trump makes you deplorable. He busted out the gate with facism.

Literally.

It's a game of hoping there's more sane people than people that can look the other way for hitlers round ups. But mind you, these are the same people ok with arpaios round ups in arizona. And ok with all republican hate rhetoric. Trump isn't saying something new. He's towing that identical line cruz Rubio and the rest all fell in line with. You can force people to have empathy when they don't have a dog in the fight, and buy that the other is causing all their misery.

But that was the uk's mistake.

His previous campaign manager is a Pro-Russian lobbyist.

His current foreign policy adviser, is being investigated for ties to Russia.

He's also being supported by Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, who's been paid by state-owned Russian Television network RT.

He's criticized NATO, praised Putin, defended the seizure of Crimea, etc.

Sadly the GOP is blocking any inquiries into it.
I don't understand. Isn't there some branch of law enforcement that should be looking in to this kind of thing. Or can anyone run for president regardless of their political ties.
