Do you torture your TV for long hours like I do? I just did 37 hours few days back on neogaf, imagine the bars and icon and what that would do to OLED's. Then pic Sony XH90 (X900H) as it supports full HDMI 2.1 features. If you are an OLED guy, then go for the old LG C9 or B9. Sony will most likely start with its own products for the Tempest (TV's, sound systems, etc).
And for headphones, you only need 2.0 Channel, but I'm with you there waiting for WH-1000XM4 if LDAC support is confirmed on PS5. You can wait for the new PS headest, heard that the Platinum has been discontiuned, or outsold, not sure, but a revision might come and implement Sony's LDAC tech for 990kbp audio quality bluetooth.
The WH-1000XM4 might still have 40mm drivers, so maybe waiting for a new PS headset that's more gaming-centered with 50mm drivers could be better.

An OLED TV is definitely on the top of my list,. Have a mid/high tier 2014 65inch Samsung that still works greats.
Ill probably stick with the 1000xm4 only because i want to upgrade from my Sony XB950n1. They have decent noise cancelling but the XM3s blow them out of the water, and i was going to get those, but i thought the XM4 would come out this past August. Ive been patiently waiting.
I dont care to have too many headsets sitting around the house so ill most likely stick with one.

I don't know how crazy this poster is on average. But that just looks like factual information to me. MS didn't use true audio on X1, it certainly sounds possible to me that they could have continued on with an updated version of the existing audio block.

New fans are impressively quite, dear friend. Here's my PC with a total of 11x* fans (5x intake, 1x exhaust, 1x CPU, 3x GPU, 1x power supply) and dead-silent. New fans are pretty great and silent, I personally expected so much noise and didn't believe what I read on the web:

Regarding the PS5 dev-kit and cooling patent. The patent is using the dev-kit as an example to patent aspects of how the cooling is configured. The same patent explicitly says the device the cooling is designed for can be used horizontally or verticaly:

Yeah as fun as these are the gpu having faster clocks and benefits were told from rasterisation and faster caches etc remain to be seen what that does. Also ray tracing can do more bounces was it with being faster clocks but less Ray's?
CPU if running at max with less load on it should almost equal the xbox with ssd related stuff on it and maybe some audio? Even without what's the maths on a 3.5 vs 3.6 but with at least 1/10 a core used up? I think 1/10 a core sounds optimistic but whoknows.
SX ram if over 10gb was speculated to have some issues with the effective bandwidth, certainly doesn't sound optimal as a whole.
Certainly doesn't seem as clear cut as was made out to be with the power narrative. I have the feeling its going to be tough for the dealers and colts of this world as xbox has to win and win big in performance every time and we are already seeing with the demo it probably just can't in some circumstances.

Seems to be absent from the recent dev-kit cooling patent, but who knows what the final design will use? The patent makes clear that it's using a "plurality" of smaller axial fans to ensure the airflow is evenly distributed over the entire heat sink, and because they're smaller and can be packaged more tightly.
PS5 might have a more compact form factor than XSX by using many smaller axial fans to achieve the desired CFM.
Also the patent has a provision for the airflow being the reverse of what has been shown, and the angle of the "V" can be over 90 degrees, also.
Maybe the dev-kits wacky design is to meet the criteria of this patent while hiding the true nature of how the production version will look.

What am I missing here? Why is the 4TB so much more money than the 2TB? The price delta between 1-2TB is decreasing but then all of a sudden it triples.

If they make an option for their games to be enjoyed on a more powerful platform and this platform allows me to play ALL games I cannot see a possible enthusiast argument to own a ps5. well I like to collect consoles and physical games, so I will buy both.
But for example if my little brother told me he wants to play some specific game I will buy it a console for price and
accessibility because yes PC usually cost more and requires many steps to have an optimal experience compare
to a console.

Yeah. Tough that I am going to have to make the switch though. The lack of trophies will be annoying but I'm sure sony will announce cross account sign in or something. Still, always thought they would be like Nintendo and try to sell dedicated hardware for another Gen. We will see I guess.

this is an excellent point. piracy is still rampant in the pc space, and this is despite the fact that games are dirt cheap on pc. and these guys spend thousands of dollars building pcs with high end parts. the cheapos dont even do that. why would they buy sonys first party games at $60?
i still remember andrew house saying how he made the pro to keep the hardcore gamers from switching to the pc like they do at the tail end of each gen. he didnt want to lose that revenue. he wanted them to stay in the ps4 eco system. he wanted those ps+ subs for four more years. he wanted that 10% royalty cut from every third party sale. 30% cut from every digital third party sale. and now they are basically telling everyone, dont come to us, we will come to you. you can stay on pc, not pay us $60 a year for online multiplayer, not pay us 30% on every copy sold, and invest more and more into microsoft's eco system instead.
its such a silly and short term move its bizarre. its a decision made by execs to make a few million dollars to line up their pockets. i dont see any ps5 game selling millions on pc at launch. you see this with third party games on pc. they simply dont sell as well despite pc gamers boasting about 200 million active online users.
this is just poor massaging, period.
Yeah I think it is silly as well. However, I think it is premature to assume how much they are leaning into this strategy. If we see demons souls remake and horizon 2 advertised for ps5 launch I can see the connection in getting people hyped for those games. If they also announce a big slate of ps5 exclusives with no mention of PC i see it being a years later thing too. Regardless if Sony kept all its IPs close to their chest they could have built an irresistible catalogue of games if they implemented BC. They could become what Nintendo has been striving to be.
I am going to take Hermans words to heart though. This could be how to get people who wouldn't otherwise experience playstation to buy into ps5. However, if more than 50 percent of their AAA library goes to PC I would say they don't give a fuck and will just be ok with 1 year min exclusivity as the benefit of having a console.
