Get your ears out for the lads. Let's see 'em.
Chances are they're very different from the "average". Cerny wants Tempest 3D AudioTech to be for everyone, and they're researching ways of being able to create your own HRTF profile, either by sending a picture of your ears and letting machine learning do the rest, sending a video of your ears to kind of 3D scan them and infer how they interact with sound, or by something like a VR game where you point and pull a trigger at where you think something is coming from so that your HRTF is gradually learned and refined over time.

At launch PS5 will just ship with 5 profiles where 1 may give you a better effect than the default.
Yes, I'm aware of that - I've heard the Cerny dev talk.

To be honest, I didn't think that my ears were so different from the norm. I just thought I had crappy earphones.

Yeah, I'll ... I'll probably ask for a custom HRTF setting. I will test the 5 pre-customized first, though.

They absolutely will. Why would a game that hit 4K 60 not be able to hit 120 with 2.5x GPU and 4x CPU plus more bandwidth and a richer hardware feature set?

Current PC hardware requires two 2080 Tis to hit 4k/120fps. I know the ps5 is designed specifically with certain hardware in mind which allows them to utilize it better than a PC could, but it's not enough to make up for it. I'll eat crow if I'm wrong but I just don't see how it's physically possible.

I'm still reading it as something he wants to do, not that the system will necessarily allow him to do it.

Well, they've been playing around with 8K@120fps, which is equivalent to 4K@480fps.

Could be 2 PS5 combined, a test for future PS5 Pro chiplet prototype. Those are directly from the mouth of the producer anyway, and we are less than 2 hours away to know more.

And let's put PC outside the talk for a moment, it's irrelevant.

Obviously not every game is going to get there, that's not the question at all. But many games will for sure have 120 FPS options. A game like Fortnite that runs at 60 FPS now should have a good shot. With Doom eternal at 1800p on XOX, 4K 120 seems within the realm of possibility. Benchmarks seem to have a 2080 TI with an average framerate over 100 FPS at 4K Ultra. Drop settings to med/high like current gen, and next gen consoles stand a good chance of hitting 120

I never said a PS5 pro couldn't do 4k/120, I just don't see the "base" model doing it given the specs. I'll keep PC out and only mentioned it in comparison to estimated specs that would be required for doing 4k/120 that we see in the PC world right now (but I do realize console chipsets and architecture are different which plays a factor into performance). Most likely, that demo is running on PC though. Developers often got a lot of shit for running demos of console games on PC at conferences and in some cases the game is developed on PC before they get the dev kit from sony or MS.

Obviously I'd love to see 4k/120 on consoles I just wouldn't get your hopes up is all but I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

One of my favorite series. This definitely one of the games that could make me pick up a PS5 on day 1.
I hear ya, this and Horizon zero dawn 2 are two biggies that i want to see tonight.

Dammit i wish i never had super already otherwise i would of ordered Pizza tonight, and yes it would have pineapple on it.
Don't hate me.

Apparently I didn't leave them there, but I certainly can't see them around the house. I basically walked-in and lay on couch to browse GAF all day until conference.

Are they bluetooth? That could help you by moving around until your device is in range and connects. If not, keep looking lol

You can play Bloodborne on PC right now, all you have to do is set up a PlayStation Now account and start a free trial. That has been the case for almost two years.

I really don't see a huge difference between paying Sony to rent a game on PC or paying them to own it in a more stable manner.

You don't see the difference between running the game on native PC hardware versus the game being streamed from a PS4 in a data center?

Really need to get a pair of headphones and really fancy the Sony 1000MX4's but they don't come out until September? What budget pair up to Β£50 are recommended to tide me over?

Sony needs to get their shit together and make their consumer headphones compatible with PS. I have an older pair of the h.ear series ones, but i would totally blow the cash on MX4s if they were compatible.

Gram turismo, ratchet and clank , horizon zero dawn - 6 month launch window . Thats my guesses. Also i think we will se some games scheduled for 2022 and 2023.

Do you think Sony sees a difference in the money you give them in one case rather than the other?

I was arguing about the general company strategy, not saying that Bloodborne should/shouldn't come to PC from a customer's perspective.

Just bluetooth or not compatible at all? I'm surprised either way.

Yeah, bluetooth is what I meant. PS3 was nice because you could use literally any bluetooth headset, PS4 had the proprietary shit going on. Sony should at least make their own phones compatible with the PS line. You can connect to the controller via aux cable but i would very much just prefer the wireless.

People are saying Twitch. I know the PS4 Event app will sign you into the Twitch feed. So just depends on your prior experiences with live stuff on Youtube. I'm going to try Twitch.
I can only use YouTube! My damn government firewall blocks twitch and nearly every videogame site! Thank the lord Neogaf sneaks through.
