There are no jokes on the internet!

THIS IS SERIOUS BUSINESS

(but seriously, I don't get your joke there lol)

How is it hypocritical?

The Greenburg quote is literally him stating a feature of the Xbox.

Just like Sony is proud to have next-gen only games.. and made statements about it.. and Cerny thinks a higher clocked GPU with less CU's is better... all of these statements are a company promoting their differences while making obvious references to the competition without actually calling them out.

Sony fans do nothing but whine about FUD and Xbox marketing... and take the most mild shit way too personally.
Today you are more salty than the usual.

4K is going to have a 4 times bigger footprint then 1080p. Even still it is just a bunch of jpegs that are not in 4K resolution.

When you buy a 4K tv and want to play games, you want the games at 4K, or the videos you watch at 4k. You don't give much thought to UX being 4k. The UI looks great, but the UI being 4K or not is a whole lot about nothing. I look at it this way, if sony still used the crossbar UI, sony fans would still say it was the "best" even when it wasn't. Good on sony for finally integrating everything into the UI. There's a lot of functionality in there now that catches up to, or goes beyond what xbox has.

Not logical

Which is bigger difference?

100mb vs 1000mb

10mb vs 100mb

Both are 10x the increase.

If you dont have hard data then it is just nonsense and fear of nothing

Like if 1080p UI would reserve 100mb for images

And 4k 400mb

= Not much, even if it is 4 times more, get it?

So I noticed Yakuza is optimised for series X, 1080 for stable 60 FPS . What exactly does optimised mean ?

You know there is a definition for what “optimised for series X” means.

It’s improved res, improved FPS or improved loading. Any one of those and it can be called optimised for Xsex lol.

So yeah - if it loads faster it’s optimised for Xsex ... :messenger_tears_of_joy: :messenger_tears_of_joy: :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I really want to buy one, but I just can't throw away a TV which still works without any issues...
And my dream TVs are too expensive...

i did not even buy an expensive one, there are people on this forum that are shelling out on thousands of dollars/pounds on tvs.

I got mine in a black Friday sale, 299 pounds 43 inch 4k LG7100 something, can't remember the exact number. It has Hdr. I looked for one with a low umput time i think it was called and this had one of the lowest, i can not fault it for my gaming.

My other tv was a 32" had green and yellow lines forming down the middle of it, yellows looked like mustard, blacks looked like greys.

fist game i open up with Tomb raider not the lastest the one before than, my jaw hit the ground. not only were the colours incredible and rich, i was seeing effects all over the place that i never noticed on my old tv,.

299 pounds was a lot for me, but it shows that even bottom of the range standard TVs are incredible today.

You realize it takes video memory away from actual games right? I'd rather have more usable video RAM for games. What does it being the weaker machine have anything to do with that?
Neither will keep a full 4k buffer allocated for the OS when you're playing a game. At least Sony's SSD is so fast, they throw out and load assets as they see fit for the UI. This might be more challenging for the XSX SSD, which might be why they might settle for 1080p UI.
i can promise you sony isnt stupid enough to allocate an extra 1 gb of vram just for the 4k OS.
ofc not. I speculated some months back that due to the PS5 SSD speed, the OS allocation could be lower than on XSX because they can run a skeleton OS when games are running, and just load assets for the UI as they need them with little perceivable delay. XSX might need to keep more resources in memory due to the significantly slower SSD.
How is this frustrating? Do you notice the difference on a 4K tv?
If you're not blind, you certainly will.

That makes 4k more interesting for me, if just an actual TV is a big upgrade itself.
Nevertheless, I need to wait a bit currently.. To many purchases/pre-orders at the moment 😂

Who in the world cannot see the difference between 4k display showing a native image against a
scale 1080p.
Nope, was an honest question. I don't have a 4K tv yet, was going to buy one this year with black friday. Was wondering if you really notice this with UI elements because they are generally very simple, just lines, so wasn't sure if you would notice that. But now that everyone says yes, I'm enlightened

Must be a bit depressing being and working at Microsoft.
Did you noticed?
Seeing that Sony would show the PS5's interface Microsoft gave he order to the partners to release their "pre-review" of the SeX immediately after. The result? All the videos about the SeX have low views while Sony's video in english on the main channel is racing to 3 million views in just 5 hours!

One advantage of what Sony is doing is that, when something finally comes out it becomes a topic for discussion and everyone points "oh, look at the hype".

Any Euro Gaffers here?

First time pre-ordering a system here.... how shipping usually works? Will they ship before launch date so it reachs you on the launch date or they`ll ship on launch and you`ll receive it a couple days later?

Same for games?

The new Xbox UI video on IGN's YT channel has more views than the official Xbox's YT Channel. I've gone ahead and included both of them.

This was uploaded this morning. The doom-and-gloomers still, to this day, are saying things like, "SoNy Is FuCkiNg uP tHeir mArKetIng."

lmaooo

When Sony put out the Ps5 logo, and it got more hits than the Series X reveal, the marketing game was over. They both knew it then and they both know it now.

Places like Amazon should give you an estimated delivery date, normally with pre-orders they'll ship it a day or two before release so it arrives on time (UK).

It’s a huge difference, dude. Microsoft have to update to 4K.

although you hate me atm, i can tell you this in good faith, its a massive Deal, Get one, you will be like wtf, why did i not do this sooner.

In just a couple of hours we pass from:

-Xbox will update the UI to have that 4k resolution (thing which I believe)

To:

-They are doing that in order to save memory if Sony was smart they will do the same

giphy.gif

When Xbox update its UI all those fanboys will start again with something like "look how superior
now looks the Xbox UI" or something. I mean common are 4k devices with a lifespan of more than
5-7 years cannot use the same resolution for the UI as the used 7 years ago.

huh? did you even read the article or watch the video? they got a sneak peak of the same demo earlier than us and then got to ask the UI guy some questions.

Now it makes sense...

The leaks start with the PS5 boot up sequence and user UI. The video down below shows off the console turning on. The beep sound returns too and we get to see the classic PlayStation logo which then loads into the user screen. Unfortunately, the leak does not go further into the UI so don’t expect to see the actual dashboard of the console. According to the leaker, he does have video footage of the UI but will sell it for €100.
