Nope, still 30fps locked. And Naughty Dog never said anything regarding potential updates. In fact, nobody knows what ND is working on currently (except TLOU2 multiplayer).

Nah they lock their PS4 games to 1080p 30 and 1440p 30 (Pro).
Kinda makes me wonder if they're doing a PS5 remaster to launch with the multiplayer.

Something tells me he was hinting at PS5. I've said this before, but I think PS5 has superior cache management. I don't know if it has anything to do with some form of infinity cache (probably not?), but I think it's clear that PS5 is more efficient with its design. Now I do also think Series X will have plenty of its own wins in the graphics/performance metrics that will value higher shader counts. Although it's not going to be a great margin and the PS5 will continue to have surprise wins here and there while always nipping at Series X heels. The parity of these two consoles are great and games are gonna be awesome this gen.

I think the I/O unit and the coprocessors may have something to do with PS5 seemingly having an advantage on the CPU, just a thought.

Regarding all the talk about Xbox dev tools maturity, Fafalada (game dev and long-time member here and other boards) said on Ree that GDK/gamecore is more mature than all previous Xbox generations SDKs at launch. And also better than what other consoles had at launch in the past. Basically another source corroborating what the Dirt 5 developer has said about Xbox dev tools.

I do not care for tech comparison... although initially I expected xbox series x to be the better console tech wise prior to release

Someone get hold of Lisa Su and inform her that she doesn't need to fund billion of dollars in R&D to find a DLSS equivalent, just pay royalty to MS for their new Xbox APIs! Also, that moron Jensen Huang first wasting billion of dollars in R&D and then spending valuable die space on tensor cores and other hardware for AI upscaling when he could've just figured it out via software!

i have said this before, this might not help right now, i know payback is kinda a bit of a bitch atm.
But xbox is still a wonderful machine, for me personally when i compare it to a pc and the price you need to pay to get similar performance, everyone on console is still a winner.

I'm not that surprised at all that they're near the same in performance on this first wave of games.. I also expect we'll see some form of patches/updates to mitigate the reported issues on these initial comparisons..
I'm more interested in next wave of games (and respective engines) built to target these next-gen consoles "natively"...

I am going to take a bait, but I feel this type of stuff is pretty shitty. Yeah I know that the feeling of satisfaction is great, but tagging users is bit much for me. But obviously I could be wrong. I have said this multiple times. I always target whole group and not people personally.

Basically xbox tools have been in devs hands for over a year.
PS5 tools are better now but both will improve overtime.
Xbox should see a bit more improvement just because they're not as good atm.
