I do not believe the XSX will "vastly" outperform the PS5 really ever.

Agreed/Same - based on the initial wave of discussions to-date - it appears this generation of games will (sadly) be about miniscule differences on framerate dips and fleeting image quality differences for the foreseeable future until game engines catch up and implement the native capabilities of the available hardware ...
I'm much more interested in the advancements that both of these consoles bring to games moving forward .. (example - latest DF video on RT enhancements between PS4P and PS5)..

I did try the cards on demon soul and saw the game help cards for areas but ran into bugs where when i tried to resume from the home menu they would just start the game from the main menu. I'm assuming the updates constantly on DS are working on it.

This is true but HDMI 2.1 TVs are still too new for it to make sense to buy one right now. There just isn't enough options right now to make a confident purchase.
Every article keeps hyping up the LG CX but there are just as much articles saying those TVs have issues right now, so waiting 6 months to a year for more options to be released is a smart move.

I feel the opposite. Indeed, my money is on the gap widening in PS5 favour.
The ssd feeding ram and devs tapping into the programmable geometry engine is still uncharted territory. Not sure what XsX has to offer apart from general refinement.

For the cards to work in Demon Souls you need to have first loaded the game and be in the main menu(conintue from checkpoint menu). From there the game works like a gem with cards. for instance you can choose "Shrine of Storms" card and it takes you right there without navigating to the nexus. then from shrine, say if you want to jump into the gates of boletaria, just pull up the card and there you're right at the gates in 2-3seconds without needing to go to the main menu or use the nexus or touch archstones

I think I saw the card for the archstones when I was in my first hours but yeah there would only have been one for boleteria, game help and the usual trophy ones so I think so you may be right.

My guess is that it's just developers getting more familiar with the hardware. Which is the same for the PS5 but they already have a head start with the hardware.

Interesting indeed. So rumors from this are:
- Silent Hill may be revealed at TGA and Kojima is rumored to be working on it
- GOW Ragnarok gameplay demo has been ready for some time, but Sony is holding off on revealing it due to PS5 demand taking over the headlines
- MGS Remake had been worked on for 3 years, simultaneously with Demon's Souls. MGS is the game Cerny has been working on (rumor)

If you're willing to sacrifice HDMI 2.1 the Sony A8H beats the CX in everything else. I spent an hour side by side with control over settings and content at my awesome local indie shop, the Sony just looks better especially colours and black/off vs near-black/on pixels. I am very happy with the A8H paired with the PS5.
There's always trade-offs after all.
You lose:
ALLM to switch TV to game mode and prioritize input lag. Samsung TVs murder picture quality to achieve this alas.
(if you have a Sony TV & PS4/5 they do this de facto)
VRR. Nice for minor framerate drops as the screen syncs refresh rate to prevent tearing but seems buggy enough to wait for 2021 TVs if that feature is key for you. Also more important on PC vs consoles, given consoles doing better on locking frame rate this generation so far.
120fps/native or dynamic 4K. If you play high level CoD and other multiplayer fast paced shooters this ends discussion of HDMI 2.0–buy a CX or X900H.
Chroma 4:4:4 is too much at 60fps/4K/HDR, dropping to 4:2:2 and costing minor colour and sharpness. Note that 60/4K & 30/4K/HDR both still do 4:4:4 on HDMI 2.0 at least.
