Finally Alex should mention which CPU is using if he is using a 3800x/5800x or better that is important.

It better NOT be a Zen 3 equivalent CPU, the PCMR community's devastation would be overbearing and non-stop.

I almost sure Alex is using a Zen 3 if this is true he "forget" to mention because now that is not important, a CPU of that
gen can have easily 10% more performance using the same GPU of course always that your GPU can deliver more.

Well I guess you cannot expect "gaming console" to do office work, same argument as always from the PC crowd. Since basically PS2 era, when PC gaming started to getting same level experiences.

A console can easily has a life of 6 years if you want your PC have a decent performance in that time life you
will need to upgrade:

-GPU
-CPU (the situation with intel stuck 4 cores was anormal)
-Motherboard (at least you have luck)
-Probably even now we should include a decent NVME

The two first components can easily reach and exceed the price of a console.

If you said he will never upgrade that PC the breach between a console and the PC will decrement
with the pass of the years because the optimizations still happens in console space meanwhile
your PC not so much.

Use the argument that PC can be use for more things is not so different than say I can play in my
smartphone but also can be use for more things.

For me the real reasons of why choose a PC above a console are:

1.- The money is not really a problem
2.- You want the best performance not matter what
3.- You don't care the console exclusives
4.-You want to play some specific games which are in PC

The prices are not so different now for old games and also the PC community is not know for buy games
is release date in some way they are similar to the people who bought a high end smartphone but don't
want to pay for a game.

PS5 really Impressive for a cross gen game in Valhalla. Sony really put out some good HW. Yeah if u have a PC you have the option to upgrade more often but bang for buck it's a no brainer, also show me a AAA game that loads in 2 seconds from the menu like Miles Morales does.

Not in the US.. so not sure what you mean (MS directly doesn't sell them, it's unclear whether 3rd parties are on some existing amount of codes that eventually won't be replenished)

Calling fake news on the 4chan leak. All of its low hanging fruit and we know MS will be there in some capacity. Another glaring omission is elden ring not being mentioned when Bandai Namco has made tweets about the game awards as well. That doesn’t necessarily mean elden ring is guaranteed but, come on.

They pulled them in select regions including the US at the same time, they’re slowly re-introducing them to regions like Latin America and Brazil at a higher price point not too long ago.

We shall see what they do with the US. But I feel they want to bundle up more with their streaming and game pass.

Sure but not every leaker knows EVERYTHING that will be shown. They could still have some legit info, but who knows.

They pulled the $5/month option to make Xbox Live cost $10/month and keep Game Pass at $10/month, so that Game Pass Ultimate at $15/month LOOKS like a better value.

"Spend more but you save money (cause we raised prices.)"

Current gen games do not tax the cpus. Neither the ps5 or the pc cpus are being used to their fullest. If you turn on cpu usage monitors on pc, you will see all the games top out at 20-50% even at 120 fps.

He probably didn't need a 20 core cpu but for the proposes of comparing GPUs, going with a high end cpu eliminates any bottlenecks the cpu might have had during testing which means the results you are getting here are strictly gpu bound for a more accurate picture of the ps5 gpu.

When doing a GPU benchmark, which Alex is doing here, you always try to eleminate all other bottlenecks beside the GPU. So you run your benchmark with the fastest CPU, RAM, SSD, etc. This way you can measure the GPUs at their peak performance. If you don't do this, you will compare the PS5's GPU to a 2060 Super running below it's potential performance, gimping the result. If you make your CPU slow enough, the PS5 would even beat the RX 3090, which would be incorrect. As you can see, the 10900K is not stressed and so should be the PS5's CPU. Thus the PS5's GPU should also not be constraint by it's CPU in this case, making this a rahter fair comparison.

My theory is it was less thought out than this. (although I like your theory too)

Xbox's numbers were low-key terrible right before they ditched the 12 month live cards. Like everyone was praising them for YoY increases, while ignoring that their competitors all had much better years last year, as well a higher percentage increase than they did, by far. MS got a covid bump that was meager compared to Sony/Nintendo.

I think it was just a bean counter asking them to increase revenue.

- A bug can make the game run at 45~50fps on XSX. To solve this restart the console
- Texture detail, anysotropic filtering, foliage density, all lower on Series X
- Resolution in Quality mode tends to hover between native 4K and 1800p on PS5, goes down to 1440p often on Series X
- Reduction in LODs on XSX.
- 120Hz mode turns Tesselation off on Series X completely. All the rest becomes even worse than the PS5.
