Klee was verified by Zhuge and Hecht. Both mods on resetera. Zhuge doesn't just verify anyone.Honestly, why did people believe him in the first place?
Insiders wise, it seems like Jason Schreier, Zhuge and Shinobi are the most reliable ones.
In all seriousness .. I've been thinking. What if there is no "event" but rather Sony releases a recorded "show" about the PS5. No need for invites or anything. Just, put it out there.
The other thought I had was ... what if the don't want to talk specs and yet also don't have enough PS5 games to show off content from yet or other types of info to share to fill a steamed show or proper event. If that were the case, you would hear nothing and see nothing until maybe March, April or May.
I really don't think Sony will do a State Of Play to reveal the console. I seriously don't think so. Perhaps upcoming next gen game snippets yes but the box itself? Fuck no. That would be best to leave for an event in or around E3 time so they capture all the chatter and go up against any hype Xbox will try to generate at their E3 show.I think it's totally possible for them to use a State of Play just like Nintendo did for Switch, but this time they must have people in the video, like Cerny, Helmen and Ryan.
Sony is in a very different situation this time compared to 2013: they have a very strong last year for PS4, which is still selling well and at a relatively high price. But they must release information to the public so that retailers and developers can get ready for the holidays. To find the optimal moment for that is their challenge and the reason for our anxiety.

I don't see Sony blowing their load before E3 with PS5 console reveal AND some next gen showcases.
Rogame confirmed it in his now deleted tweets. That is what kicked off the dual gpu rumours.
Anything but a state of play they are cringeworthy. Sony and MS have zero clue how to put on a direct to fans. I rather see another wired magazine interview or cerny on YouTube for 1 hour blabbing. People are really taking this cheaping out to line the executives pockets way seriously. They make billions a year on the playstation they can pony up a few dollars and put on a real event ffs.But what if they did a State of Play in February with content like 2013 PS Meeting and an event near E3 for all the rest?

I'm not against the idea of a State of Play revealing the console, I'm just against it being executed as flaccidly as past State of Plays. If they're going the SoP route, they need to have Cerny on screen and explaining the hardware, game devs personally introducing their upcoming titles, etc. Not the same disembodied voice that we've been hearing, because she sounds way too robotic and sterile.
Warriors desperate for that 2013 moment of 8 gigs. That and if that really was the PS5 lots of disappointment. I am not taking much stock in it unless Sony is hell bent on 399.99 and put the SSD over APU. I would be in absolute shock if the PS5 was a limp 36 cu chip no matter how good the RT and SSD is. It will probably be less than MS since they will use die space for extra RT acceleration such as tensor like cores mid 40s vs mid 50s..why did that kick off dual gpu rumors?

Two GPU's (Oberon and Ariel) both supposedly for PS5, both near identical in spec, both undergoing frequent testing and both receiving upgrades since 2018.

Lockhart 7tf? Where did u hear this? I must have missed it.Series s supposedly around 7.2tf... that supposed to be 300? I would get the xsx. But if series s is 7ish and ps5 9ish and xsx 12ish will be pretty interesting.
I'm sure ps5 and xsx will both be similar 10-12 wherever they fall
I don't get the major issue with what the event is called..what if it's the same shit as back in PS4 Feb event but they just call it state of play. That way they get to show the great PS4 games coming still this year and talk PS5.The idea of an anonymous state of play reveal quite sucks imho. A new console deserve a proper reveal
is there any kind of reasoning why Sony would have two GPUs tested?
For this to make sense for a dual GPU rumor...would one be with a CPU, and one without (but perhaps more RT)?
May only make sense if Sony has a dual console strategy (Base and Pro at launch)
I think it's easier to just disregard the rumour.
None of the insiders support it anyway and you'd think at least one such as Jason would know something and even he is in the stronger than a 2080 range.
Plus we had a verified dev in here earlier telling us the lowdown.
link to verified dev?
People deserve a better tomorrow, today.

Happens all the time. 2 genders? What do you mean 2 genders? Nice scientific lab you have there, would be a shame if you lost it.Why should people disregard the only consistent hard data that we have on the next-gen systems? That's complete foolishness. Imagine if scientists threw out testing results because they didn't personally like what they got. They'd get laughed out of a profession.
Because maybe, just maybe, it lacks context? And this is what Digital Foundry have said, it just lacks context, we still do not know if it is for PS5 or maybe a test of something or something else entirely. Why should people disregard the only consistent hard data that we have on the next-gen systems? That's complete foolishness. Imagine if scientists threw out testing results because they didn't personally like what they got. They'd get laughed out of a profession.

They'd get laughed out of a profession for using such data as github leak - it lacks completeness, context is unknown and all one can do with this data is to make random guesses. That is quite unprofessional in science world. Why should people disregard the only consistent hard data that we have on the next-gen systems? That's complete foolishness. So if only evidence about aliens is grainy home video, we must take it as truth? Retarded logic. Why should people disregard the only consistent hard data that we have on the next-gen systems? Everybody cringes when they hear 'State of Play', then what about a pre-recorded presentation just like Nintendo did with Switch, does that suit you better?

I really would like to ask you if what we have seen in the hellblade2 trailer is actually achievable on next gen consoles in terms of graphic or it is just a show off and game will look far downgraded from that
Live stream it or perma banToday or tomorrow something will be announced or I'll eat my own dick #McAffeeVoice

Your syntax is interesting. Not a native English speaker, I take it?I am what I expect from them. But as a user I would not see an incentive for a generational change. But let's not fool ourselves, logically not all games are going to look like this. With respect to Ninja Theory I have no reason to doubt its quality. Logically there will always be a difference between kinematics and ingame, another thing is that it shows in motion. If there will be downgrade? Well it depends on the resolution and frame rate you want to achieve. At native 8k @ 60fps ....? Emmmm no. But I think that is evidence. They would have to pinch me to believe me. But at a lower resolution both the machine and the software are ready for it. I personally if those levels are not reached with the games "First" I would be disappointed.
I take this answer to respond to others since my time is limited and this thread advances too quickly, if I leave something in the inkwell excuse me.
I do not want to divert the thread from its original route, nor do I want to be the center of its attention. Therefore I will explain it only once and in Spoiler so as not to saturate the screen. I am writing from the mobile in public transport, so forgive my spelling mistakes.
There are more markets apart from the "public" in which interactive applications or games are developed. Let's call it a "private" market. Specifically in my case I refer to Pharma (Pharmaceutical Industries). Our company is basically dedicated to it. Making "public" videogames is something we tried to do for 2-3 years and in the first attempt trying to publish on Steam an Arkanoid VR type we failed spectacularly.
Now we are going for the second attempt with two ideas, one for mobile devices and another more ambitious one that will be cooked little by little, since as the private sector is our priority we are not in a hurry and we prefer to take it easy and that it goes well and not fail of new. It's hard when what happens to my teammates happens to *Iwon'tsaythename*, they had to close the development study because sales were not good. And so one dream ends ... and another begins.
The luck is that Pharmaceuticals always have money (and very short delivery times), but once a year we have the possibility of doing something more ambitious. I cannot say what because it is private but basically they are MOA (mechanisms of action for new medications), which are presented internally in Pharmaceuticals or in their large private events. In which then you have to show how the medicine works within the body in the most realistic way possible in the minimum time. This often leaves interactive VR and AR versions. And that includes both mobile and fixed devices.
For example in an event they took ~ 50 HTCs for a mini-video game in which you had to destroy the invading organism (a bullshit, yes, but the creation process is the same as that of a normal video game). We have used all the VR devices on the market that we could, from the first Oculus DK1 to the PSVR. Hence, at any given time it was decided to try to enter the public world.
I am NOT a programmer.
Yes, at some point in the crisis I had to help with this task in a supervised and directed way, but it is not my task. I am in charge of doing or directing everything related to 3D / VFX / VR that does not include programming. To program the programmers are already there.
The public game we are developing is of "Indie budget". But that doesn't mean we don't have the knowledge to do it better, what we don't have is time.
Apart from personal experience, do I know people from the sector? Evidently/¿obviously?. Luckily, the 3D sector offers many possibilities and is very enriching on a professional level, where you meet many people constantly with whom you share experiences, doubts and concerns. If I have information "I can share" at any time, I will not hesitate to do so, and if I do not, I cannot. Meanwhile I would like my stay to be more normal, I like to develop games, but I like playing more. And on the other hand there are things that I DON'T know and that I also like to speculate like you
See you SOON (sorry, I couldn't contain myself).
