I think he's saying if you're powering USB, then the console is in a state of low power/standby, not fully "off". It's not bypassing the Xbox's internals and going directly to the power.

Anyway we've talked enough about this gens consoles powering USB stuff lol, they both do it.

Navi uses DCU (not to be confused with the terrible WB movies) which I think is able to fit more CUs in the same space. I could be talking out of my ass though because I just skim through things :messenger_grinning_sweat:
Agreed. I think it's more of what is meant by standby. For me, it is a software controlled state with cache and memory use.

Wth is going on with this controller charging talk. :messenger_tears_of_joy:
You people have turned this thread into a complete dumpster fire of irrelevant garbage.
Blame Soony.

We need something to bring us back on track here I see :)

Why? I mean, most of those games have been in development since around 2017, with a couple of them being in the works since 2016 and the Japan Studio space game from even before that. Of course plans could change and delays happen, but I think that all of them have chances of releasing during the said window.

Because a game being in development can mean a lot of things. There's planning, pre-production, various stages of full production, assessment, bug testing, etc. Things like feature creep or giant change of plans happening resulting in reworks can happen, too.

With the way bigger-budget game dev tends to go these days I don't start entertaining a game's release until at least some type of teaser or trailer comes out announcing its existence. Because usually, the sooner that happens, the sooner the game itself is likely to come out (funnily that didn't apply for some of the stuff Sony showed in the PS4 reveal trailer like Dreams, which only came out this year. TBF same can be said kind of about Crackdown 3 which took years and multiple delays to come out and, well, wasn't very well received).

When u think about it, there's no way Sony is 9.2TF and google 10.5TF. My bet for Sony is the same as Xbox 12 but not RDNA 2

9.2 Navi is equal to 11.5 GCN, and Stadia uses GCN. So that would still beat the pants off of Stadia even if the number appears lower.

Honestly none of us know what PS5's numbers are at (
some benchmarks out there for a certain PS5-related chip are progressively painting a certain picture however, though there may be more to surface and more context to be added
), but I think due to Sony stressing hardware-based back-compat with PS4 and PS4 Pro they'll have more space on their chip for GCN architectural features, since those systems are GCN architecture. And RDNA1 already provides that.

I do think Sony and MS are on 7nm so that's "effectively" RDNA1 but they will have varying amount of RDNA2 features pulled from the roadmap customized to their APUs, XSX moreso because it won't need as much space for GCN-compliant architectural features (using software-based compatibility). And that's even with Sony theoretically having the same-sized chip.

But, both of them will have so much RDNA2 features customized to their APUs they can essentially say they're RDNA2 (and afaik, MS hasn't mentioned if they're on 7nm or 7nm+ because no one's asked and it's probably not something really worth mentioning except for overly nosy next-gen forum posters such as ourselves xD).

Samsung's catalog now includes 16Gb (2GB) GDDR6 chips!

Wait, this is news? Honestly though Samsung already had 2GB GDDR6 chips available. Micron's had them for a while now, same with SK Hynix. The bigger news would be if they were 2GB 18Gbps chips.

EDIT: Yeah, they've had that page up for months now. Maybe one or two of the chips entered mass-production now, IDK. Never paid attention to that part.

I guess Micron would be the first to 18Gbps chips anyway since they've already overclocked some of theirs to that amount. Also IIRC Rambus (yep, those guys) have a PHY for 18Gbps chips too.

It wasn't from Ree. I created the paste and naturally was the first to post it. With no news coming from Sony my intent was to infuse some humor into this thread and without a doubt the pages running up to 2pm gave everyone a well needed laugh.

Lol, I knew you created it. You were so quick to post it the day it came up. Somehow you fooled people to thinking someone else on reddit posted it and deleted it.

Mod of War Mod of War is this allowed?

i didnt laugh. i dont remember anyone else laughing either. we can make up rumors now??

Yup, I would rather pay $1000-2000 on Big Navi and probably pay $10 to play and finish 1-4 xbox exclusives within one month. That's if they're good enough to pull my attention. Or just use my current set with Radeon VII as it's perfect for Star Citizen anyway, but Big Navi seems to be insanely good for 4K-8K video editing, especially for raw 12-bit video files that can destroy most PC's and give you nostalgic feeling of Windows 95.

Microsoft has its shit OS, and Nokia was dump enough to refuse Google's android at its prime era then goes for the horrendous windows OS before coming to android lately. iOS might be a great system for PC, but I'm not paying $43K for that. I'm waiting for ChromeOS to mature and be a true competitor or even wait for Harmony OS.
Windows mobile was not horrendous. It lacked developer support

Starting to belive that a longer version of state of play is more likely because of corona virus.

If anyone here plays modern warfare, there is a rumour that warzone will be announced/ released on that date. Is it possible that they will show the mode/ game on a sony event since they have a partnership? Sounds likely to me.

Yeah I mentioned this few pages ago.

Yesterday was hilarious. You'd think people would have learned their lesson after the Kugoson Pastebin leak? Believing Pastebin is like reading tea leaves pulled from the dumpster.

Main reason I wanted to believe it so bad, was that I found another Pastebin claiming an early March reveal with Resistance being shown.

INSOMNIAC, give me a new Resistance. Please. I need it.

LOL.

Please keep them coming.

There's something about pastebins that make them more mysterious, yet hilarious vs. other places like reddit or game forums.

Speaking of pastebinners, where they hell has Songoku been?

Wasnt talking about state of play but warzone reveal amongst other things might be happening on the 3rd. Wouldn't be surprised if Sony related stuff pops up tht day too.

Ahhhh ok. Makes sense. At this point I don't care what they reveal. I just want them to reveal it.

So... we need to get things back on track

What does everyone think the Next gen standby and USB power options will be?
:messenger_ogre: 🔌🔋
I want 36 different states of powered on. If they need to add useless ports just to give me more options of what to leave on and what to depower in various states then so be it!

So...next week? :messenger_tears_of_joy::messenger_tears_of_joy::messenger_tears_of_joy:
Well, there's possibility of tomorrow. Still got 1 day left in Feb gaffers. You never know. All those Feb reveal supporters still got 24 hours. lol

I didn't watch it, but there was some Giant Bomb podcast where someone slipped the reveal is March 3 or 4. Will see if that's true. Got about 5 days left for that claim.

As for all the chat earlier today about charging, shutting off the system, resume games etc...... I guess I'm old school. When I'm done, I just exit the game and shut off the system.

When I want to play, I turn the system on and reload my last saved file.

Not to spoil it for you all, but its actually not too hard to continue playing a game that way.

So maybe those dev kit at 12.5 or even 13TF are on a GCN vega architectures?? Well who knows

My money is on the Monday following E3 or that Thursday prior since most games would be revealed at their event! This would knock the winds out of MS sails if they have some megatons to drop as rumored! They'll announce price at TGS

MS is not going to stay quiet until E3.

Last year (and I think other years), MS's show are on Sundays.

If Sony does a big reveal to upstage MS, I don't know which is the better tactic (I'm no PR person)....

1. Do it before MS so people focus less on MS's show (or even not bother watching it)

2. Do it after MS so people forget about what they saw at MS's show

I agree I believe Microsoft will Keep revealing and talking about the Xbox Series X. I wouldn't be surprised if there is info drops every month. Then an Event to show it off and let Journalists play the Xbox Series X with Demos of Games at launch. Every Information drop is just gaining more mindshare and Publicity between and Launch.

E3 will be about games the next year or Two.

Shit Microsoft don't have any for the series X, so it's all gonna be third party and cross gen!

For real there is some xbox and sony fans are taking this way too serious

They do but I don't pay it no mind. I've been dealing with these types of convos since Sega, Nintendo and turbografx fans would go at it over which system had the larger color pallette and could have more polygons on screen 😂😂😂😂 Ppl would get savage over those systems.
