Gonna be cross-gen 3rd party games.. fun stuff but people are going to be disappointed.

(although they also might be disappointed when real next-gen games games are shown as I personally don't think cross-gen will make much of a difference in a presentation like that)

VRS and Primitive shaders are different forms of culling, they should be used together. MS spent a great deal of time talking about primitive shaders, so I'm not sure why anyone would say they didn't.
because it's different thing primitive shading != not rendering primitives.

The Geometry engine is just the PS5 API for using geometry shaders on the RDNA2 GPU. Microsoft calls them mesh and amplification shaders in their DirectX Ultimate API. It's just different names for the same thing.
no GE it's hardware unit inside GPU

they'r not the same while they might have some of the same features(VRS).

The geometry engine is not superior to VRS. They each do different things and will have different performance effects based on what you are trying to draw in the frame. It's almost a certainty that the PS5 and XSX will have the capability to do both.
GE can just not to draw primitives at start of render where isn't needed that means offscreen is gonna be just black no triangles or rectangles VRS or mesh shaders just renders bigger or smaller triangles and shades at lower or higher quality and it can't do that at the start of render because GPU have to render primitives in first place that's why GE is superior to VRS.

First party would definitely make use of the bespoke PS5 architecture. Can't wait for some GDC tech info on how studios can harness some of this and how many resources it frees up on cpu/GPU and ram bandwidth.
I assume that the system's APIs will be built around those hardware features, making a game on this machine will grand some almost automatic benefits. So I assume that first year titles will take basic advantage, and as time goes on devs and artists will find better ways to use them and optimise further (a bit like other consoles with their own features).

I see MSs console being better at older titles sometimes, however VRS already has demonstrated that it degrades the image quality, so it's not as interesting as I assumed it was... like overly compressed video, it makes 4K borderline useless.

PS5 event is apparently a few weeks away

Interesting. So 3rd/4th week of May.

I doubt MS marketing team will try to sell a "Lockhart" this year.
I can't see it coming later being a good idea. Although the current pandemic could be forcing a change of plans?

So June 4 one might be correct ?

Jeff Grubb clarified this and said something game related is happening on that day but the reveal could be before.

What can we expect on this? Is this their E3 show, or just a 30min show parts of some games?

Only thing I have heard is it will be a full blow out event.

Is that confirmed? Nope.

Do I believe it? Yeah, for reasons.

Full blowout.....Not sure I could take that given how long we've waited but I'll take it.

So I think Sony's corporate strategy meeting is on Sunday the 19th May so the following week for the big reveal could fit nicely (20-24th May)?

And what about this Xbox event? Is this a full blow out event? Because I don't have that feeling since they use inside Xbox for this...

it's going to be good to see some actual fucking games. hopefully at the sony event they will show a big time exclusive such as horizon or spiderman. We'll get a glimpse of what these things are truly capable of not the cross gen filler

I think it will be a gameplay reveal of the new assassins creed game as at the end of the trailer they show an Xbox SX logo.
Yeah people are way over-hyping themselves.

MS PR really sucks sometimes lol... I predict a thread of people making fun of them.
