Games are coming in exactly 1 week, I'm happy that they at least also keep pushing for getting the best possible value to customers. Sony has nothing that even comes close to this. If Microsoft delivers when it comes to games, they are so far ahead. But I agree that that's a big IF looking back at past-gen.

It's pretty clear. Gamepass needs subscribers, wherever they come from. Business wise it makes sense for them.

Enlighten me with Geometry Engine in PS5 plz. And how it compares to VRS and mesh shader in Xbox. Really curious.
Go listen to the Cerny road to Ps5, he mentions new geometry engine and most viewers think its old and switch of mentally.....
BUT if you listen carefully he says quite a few things about early backface culling, precedural rendering and the like. Most people missed it, he also says new a few times ....
Also tie that in with some tweets from teh ex playstation engineer now at Roblox, he also gives allot of clues.

What do you mean? Is this the only thread you actually visit on this forum? I would recommend visiting the Xbox Showcase thread and read all the rumours. Next week is that showcase, stop crying about "show me some games" when you know that it's next week. You fanboys are ridiculous.
Also read the article, because they aren't repeating themselves. Show me where it was said that xCloud was coming to Game Pass. This was a rumour sure, but now it's out in the open. For $15 a month you get +100 games that you can play on Xbox and PC, day-1 access to all first party games, and now this also includes xCloud. That's new, and it's amazing value.

Also, if software can close the gap then Sony should try to make a piece of software that does the same exact thing, add that to the faster base speed of the SSD......

Right now, as for ME personally i dont see any value MS has over Sony. I
dont care about gamepass because i play only best games on release and i dont play bad games. And in gamepass youll have old games, bad games or MS games ( which clearly i dont care about at the moment, it can change next week )

I hope someone asks him about why only commit to cross-gen software for only 2 years. If nothing is being 'held back', why even have a cut-off point? The devs at XGS are so capable of scaling from Zen 2 to Jaguar at drop of a hat, what is stopping them from doing so for beyond couple of years? Wouldn't that be even more pro-consumer? Nobody is left behind for the entire generation!

All this talk is hot air for not buying the studios on time, development takes a lot more than just throwing money at it. Most of these studios cannot whip up an exclusive next-gen title in space of 2-3 years hence the tremendous mental gymnastics they are doing at Xbox. And somehow, folks are lapping it up. They had 5 years to get ready for this launch and it's amazing this is the direction they are headed into. It'll be hilarious to see the tune change when likes of HellBlade 2 start to hit the shelf.

I saw the slides from AMD I think that both have GE in them. It's pretty obvious that both Microsoft and Sony haven't revealed everything about their systems yet. If Microsoft does have the GE I'm sure they will talk about it in their hot chips event.

Wow, the mental gymnastics on both sides is insane. Honestly, what the hell does it matter what's in the boxes that the other system doesn't specifically have? These boxes are so similar in power that it shouldn't matter about what's in the boxes. What should matter are what games each can play that you know about going in either at launch or in the pipeline. What also should matter is what you might need in terms of storage. Initial and upgrade option costs might matter to some, not to others. I have never once booted up my PS4 Pro or Xbox One X and thought, MY LORD, Look at those TFLOPS. I bet the other system would have been better/crappier running this. I have never once thought, thank the lord for this processing pipeline over that one. Load game.. play game. I've even played the same game on Playstation 4 PRO with some friends that I played on XBOX One X, and despite knowing the visual differences for a fact in action, I just didn't care. As long as I was having fun playing.
XBOX has more power than PS5. It's established. PS5 is likely to not be as strong in terms of Ray Tracing. That's established. I've seen some of the exclusives coming to PS5, so that's established.
For those on the fence between systems, some things may sway them one way or the other. For most on here, there is a brand loyalty that no amount of discussion will overcome. It's Coke and Pepsi, or whatever other two warring brands you want to insert. The only thing that bothers me about this stuff is when false information is being spread. I mean.. making shit up? Really? Lack of understanding the tech and then discussing it as if you do is one thing. Inserting facts and specs that have never been said by the mfr. is just stupid.
July 23rd might help inject better conversation into this thread by being able to discuss more of the games in the pipeline for launch or otherwise. I hope so. When you have a huge pre existing fanbase that blindly defends everything they do then yes, you can expect them to anticipate selling lots of hardware even at 599.
Not saying at all that XsX will outsell them, but I do expect MS to be more competitive price wise than Sony because Sony doesn't think they have to. Jim Ryan already said to expect it to not be cheap because of the experience we are getting.
