Sony Playstation 5 Pre Order email: Why has no one been speaking about this? Do we know of anyone being chosen? I responded to mine about 10 times now lmao.Bo_Hazem or @HeisenbergFX4 ?
$700 that to me seems fair assuming the performance is what Jensen mentioned. Let there be benchmarksYes, but the flahship gpu is RTX2080 and it is almost double RTX2080 ti.
So, the prices are really competitive.
Nvidia secured their PC audience from buying consoles.
Yeah seems likely.So
XSS 299$
PS5 DE 399$
PS5 499$
XSX 499$
for me its almost official.

1499$3070 $500 (better than 2080 Ti)
3080 $800
idk the 3090 price, probably insane it has 24 GB of G6X.
it's $7003070 $500 (better than 2080 Ti)

The RTX 3070 will out perform the 2080 Ti for only $500. Next gen consoles might actually be affordable after all.
These Nvidia prices mean these consoles better be cheaper than we thought.
I want to know how the RTX IO works, because, how they made it 100x troughput, like Jensen said.
It looked like a PC GPU version of what Sony showed off with the PS5 I/O. Custom hardware and software, SSD bypassing the CPU, etc.I want to know how the RTX IO works, because, how they made it 100x troughput, like Jensen said.
Damn yeah wow 700. crazyit's $700really positively surprised. Seems AMD's pressure is working finally.
that audience likes to play with Tflops rather then games. i would never buy any of pc card even at low prices if they don't have big 5 like sony has, because i look at games when i buy HW not numbers.Yes, but the flahship gpu is RTX2080 and it is almost double RTX2080 ti.

The way they described it sounded like it was just nvidia utilising Microsoft's direct storage api, no custom hardware which means it's probably limited in what it does.It looked like a PC GPU version of what Sony showed off with the PS5 I/O. Yes of course, im playstation guy.that audience likes to play with Tflops rather then games. i would never buy any of pc card even at low prices if they don't have big 5 like sony has, because i look at games when i buy HW not numbers.
Yep probably consoles are at 3060 level which probably will be 299$, also Nvidia also is using NV I/O.
Consoles won't be pricier than 499$
I thought he mentioned some hardware will offload the I/O work from the CPU. Decompression/ data transfers, etc I think. He said it would require a lot of CPU cores to do it otherwise. Kinda like what the consoles are doing. The way they described it sounded like it was just nvidia utilising Microsoft's direct storage api, no custom hardware which means it's probably limited in what it does.
I'm slightly concerned for XSX IO now
They just said that they are using AI, but it was not very explicit. It looked like a PC GPU version of what Sony showed off with the PS5 I/O. Custom hardware and software, SSD bypassing the CPU, etc.
I feel bad for whoever bought 2080 ti this yearYes 3070 being 2080TI for 499$ is reasonable as fuck.
I said that 2080TI owners would cry after ampere.
I'm slightly concerned for XSX IO now
This is not a serious question. at all.Do you know in which hardware astrobot was running? Or are you assuming it was on PS5? Honest question here.
Exactly, as far as we know Geoff's demo could be running on PS4.
Wtf are you guys onI'll elaborate a bit. This is just from what I understand.
It's Direct Storage that allows streaming from SSD to GPU memory, we've known this was coming to the PC space for months. See below:

This is what is being done in principle, and this is mentioned in the presentation itself. Furthermore, it seems that decompression is done on the GPU rather than the CPU? At least that's what "GPU lossless decompression" implies.
Easy enough. On the Series X side however 2.4GB/s (Raw), 4.8GB/s (Compressed) was only impressive compared to PC before DirectStorage landed. Now that it has, it's hardly up to par.
PS5 on the other hand is double 4.8GB/s at the bare minimum compressed (9GB/s). In real world performance we know it can peak potentially at 22GB/s. They've future proofed their solution.

I'm trying to keep in touch with Sony ME, nothing so far. No insider details though, zero from my side.
Wtf are you guys onit's still more than enough for series X.
It's what we were speculating from march.I'll elaborate a bit. This is just from what I understand.

So you think PCs will also be outperformed by PS5?I was thinking the same. Nvidia just validated Sony's approach to investing in I/O to improve gaming experiences, and PC enthusiast can't brush it aside anymore
The XsX seems like it will be stuck with the old obsolete way of doing things for a few more years but at least DXIIU can leverage the I/O for PC games too.

Yeah Nvidia seem to be claiming 2x compression from 7 GB/s raw.I'll elaborate a bit. This is just from what I understand.

So no loading times in the next PC games ? Like CP2077 and others ? And this will work in the old games (not so old but like before-Ampere).I'll elaborate a bit. This is just from what I understand.

So you think PCs will also be outperformed by PS5?
smoke on what game? marbles?Yes of course, im playstation guy.
But new nvidia cards performance/price is sweet as hell.
Being totally realistic 3070 will smoke consoles for 499$, they can't price it higher than that.

There's gotta be dedicated I/O hardware in the RTX 3000 GPUs for handling compression, right? Or are they claiming its all software. They didn't specify if that's minimum or peak though. But I'd wager peak.
Look you know my status and I'm looking at this picture with a true final understanding of Alex's more feminine qualities as of late. Wow this says so much. Why would he do this - that takes something like balls to do in his position!?Digital Foundry, we got a problem:

500$ just for a graphics card vs 500$ for a complete console is a big difference. So after NV show XSX must be priced lower than 500$ to make anyone even consider buying it over PC.

smoke on what game? marbles?
i guarantee to you that PS5 will have best looking games next-gen PC simply doesn't have enough talented studios it only have Rockstar and CD-Red which multiplatform btw, so sony is big 7 vs PC big 2.
3060 will be probably on par with nextgen consoles and it will be even lower priced lower at 299$-399$500$ just for a graphics card vs 500$ for a complete console is a big difference.
No need to talk that to me.smoke on what game? marbles?

Cant wait to pair this with a PS5.
Yeah cuz they claim it would take 24 CPU cores to handle the I/O otherwise. So the GPU must have an I/O unit.Compression is done at the software level during dev, pretty sure of that. There's decompression tech in the GPU I think.
And that is still just a graphics card. Without a CPU, RAM, Motherboard, PSU, Case...3060 will be probably on par with nextgen consoles and it will be even lower priced lower at 299$-399$
Happy to be aboard. WOOF!3 new passengers, welcome aboard folks

Well, well, well...look at this fancy fuck.BC is better than no BC.
But powering up an old console eats BC for breakfast.

Personally, as a Playstation fan, I find Sony's way of handling its legacy a bit unbalanced between soft and hard...
They strongly rely on IP (and the controller) to tell the whole PS story, but although certain games hold it together (e.g. Gran Turismo), I'm not entirely sure that's sustainable enough to fuel the brand in the long run.
I also think we already damaged some of the PS DNA when we lost Ridge Racer, SOCOM, Twisted Metal and others.
Beyond BC, I am wishing for software emulation and AI—powered upscaling of the entire Playstation catalog.
I still remember the fun of playing an upscaled PS2 Hokuto no Ken on my PS3 fat.
