Just for the SSD part it's around the same speed (because 8 channels vs 12 channels for PS5). But that's ignoring the API and hardware bottlenecks the PCs still have.Isn't the 7gb/s still slower than the ps5 one tho?

Which first commen?. In article or in comments section?
Ahhh very cool. And its 500 right on its own?7GB/s is RAW performance... so no it is a bit faster than PS5 SSD with the difference of the number of lanes (that makes PS5 a bit better at the same speed).
It is basically the SSDs Sony was waiting to certificate to use on PS5.
The 1.5GB/s more RAW performance is enough to compensate the lower lanes (PS5 12 x 4? that SSD).
Nvidia is claiming their GPUs can handle 24 cores of I/O data with what? Only answer is hardware. Fixed function accelerators.

So in the end PS5 is still faster.
When will his doubters learn?Based God cerny...... again
This is Insomniac, if people have watched the Spider-Man post mortem they'd understand that Insomniac can extract water from stone. If I had to bet on one studio to hit those 22GB/s cap it'd be Insomniac, so I totally believe when they say the world take less than a second to load even if they are slowing down the transition a bit with the inside of rifts.I'm late to the party, but are people seriously arguing about Ratchet loading times? Lmao what they achieve here is quite more than nice, and especially for launch window game. I actually wonder if they even used Kraken, actually i don't think so? considering that each new place probably don't hit "not even close" 22 GB. Also the tech is super new for the devs. Dunno what's with this nonsens ague but aw.
They have something like 30TFs. They don't need a dedicated hardware to be frank. They might be emulate all that PS5 I/O by software and not hitting 5% load on their GPU. The PS5 I/O is still better because it is not limited by other aspects in the PC architecture. No "IO core" was announced.
They will decompress with ALU (shader cores).
If not mistaken, the uploader was not aware of this i think, but that Samsung 8K was a fake 8K with "built in cheats". But since Samsung created their own "alliance", their own "HDR10+", their own "standards".
Samsung made up an alliance (Hisense was part of it, then dropped out), gave themselves an award and ... rest is history. Same shit going on with HDR10+ (standard created by Samsung, based on what makes their TVs look great, instead of going with dolby vision). F#ck´em.

[IFA 2019] LG says Samsung’s 8K TV fails internationally agreed standards

LG Electronics Claims Samsung Electronics' 8K TVs below Standard
The war over the 8K TV image quality is intensifying between South Korea’s two electronics giants Samsung Electronics Co. and LG Electronics Inc. LG Electronicwww.businesskorea.co.kr
EDIT
Well they created their "own" standard (8K Association of which Samsung is a founder member), that should tell you who they really are or how they operate.
Why would they "create" their own alliance, standards ... ? maybe because their 2019 8k did not reach 25% (images) as indicated by ICDM "standard" (to which most TV manufacturers agreed upon, but only 12%. (blurrier image).

Also, I am not sure how effective is their I/O in real application. We haven't seen developers talking about it yet.
Could Nvidia's RTX I/O also be using the Tensor cores for I/O?That's correct. Anyway, it's good that there is a solution to I/O, at least.
Could Nvidia's RTX IO also be using the Tensor cores?
When will his doubters learn?
They're getting BTFO'd again and again.
Jeez.
I will stick to my poor man's 65" 8000GAnd I was wondering why Sony 8K TV's are insanely expensive. Sony has standards, and they stick with it.
interesting... so I checked it out.
I dont see much reason to be concerned
video starts with an initial load of a couple of second for the open world, but we dont know if there was more before it.
then from its open world to battle, the transition is instantaneous:
then from battle to camping less than three seconds:
then from camping to in house less than three seconds:
from house to open world less than five seconds
and all these are playable segments
this is just a multiplatform release of a small indie studio of basically two people,
yet it beats both sony's first party (ratchet) and sony internal demo team (astro's playroom ) on loading speeds for gameplay
I have checked the translation to confirm that I have not made a mistake and I definitely believe that the translation is correct and that the part where I talk about "HYBRID" technology is perfectly clear. Same as the part where I say that everything doesn't have to be RT.
If due to my lack of English I have not properly understood your comment, please excuse me. Although at the moment I think that the one who has not understood me is you.![]()
I'm sure Sony would be quite comfortable with their main competition being the PC market, given how expensive entry is into it. There's a reason millions of people game on consoles and not on PC - well, actually there are two: cost and ease.
All Microsoft have managed to do by having this policy of everything on PC as well, is potentially funnel all console gamers to the main competition, given that only Ps5 will have exclusive games on it.
Who the hell is buying a Series X at this point, and why?
I will stick to my poor man's 65" 8000G.
They can use whatever. They have alot of power and compute to spare for I/O.Could Nvidia's RTX I/O also be using the Tensor cores for I/O?
Dont think we will get a mid gen refresh, ps6 in 2025 thoughSo with that Nvidia announcement in mind, what are your predictions for mid gen console refreshes? Would they aim to 2x or 3x the base consoles, or do you think they will go higher?
Just to piggyback on this. They would organize mass reporting of PS fans in the era Playstation Technical Spec thread, and get them all banned. This happened for quite some time until mods finally caught on and banned them all for mass reporting.
So they would troll PS users in a PS thread, and any people took the bait, they mass reported everyone. Mods on era have already said that they only look at reports when banning people so any time they saw multiple reports on one post, they would immediately look at it and ban the user. I remember when this happened. It was when Brad Sams said something about the PS5 being a 9 tflops system. Someone in the PS5 thread posted it, and just like that they all descended on that thread and started calling out users for insulting a forum member. (Bsams had an account there.) Around 5 PS fans were banned that day in that thread, but im glad to see these fuckers got their comeuppance soon after.
this was only a couple of days before monkeypunch posted the screenshots of the discord. they are losers. and it wasnt just relegated to era. They showed up here on gaf in this very thread within five minutes of monkeypunch first revealing the discord back in december of last year. I didnt even know colbert or shepshal had an account here but they both showed up to deny it immediately. proelite used to be the only one who posted here semi-regularly but he showed up immediately as well. these idiots indirectly confirmed the existence of a discord by denying it.
I am currently gaming on my olderNothing wrong there, you are currently 2 levels above my 55" X7000D (XD70/X700D). And might not even manage to get 65" X900H due to too much stuff to be bought in the next few months.![]()
I am currently gaming on my older
55" X8500E. My little one is not allowing me to use 8000G. Too much Johnny Johnny yes papa
reminds me of this video: even a few cm away from the screen it was impossible for a "normal" person to see a difference between 4K and 8K. Screens are still not large enough...
But that might change in 4 years

DUDE!No thats just not true is it. How does it beat Ratchet? What are you basing that off? Unless your actually sticking by that video you posted.
Firstly this is a small game and I'd doubt it was using all the ram hence why its a bit worrying it still can take so long to load such a small game, compare it to Ratchet and its like a generation behind and more. Its not even close is it and nor is it intended to be.
But Ratchet has already shown loading entire worlds that look like cgi in a second. Some take 2 seconds but dont forget that includes the portal animation.
Its not just a standard load, its animating the character through the portal and it loads then portal kicks in.
It could probably once loaded just instantly show the new world but that would look ridiculous and jarring and not fit with a character falling through it. You can see the worlds load before he passes through but you have to wait for the character to travel through.
Why you would use a video that shows a count going to 6.27 seconds only makes sense if your trying to mislead about the figures. That one he's out of the portal but whoever made it keeps counting whilst he flies down to the ground, clearly well into the other world.
I mean if were going to be this silly why stop there, may as well keep the timer going, say the whole demo is still loading.
As for astros playroom we dont know how Geoff played it, I very much doubt he had a PS5 physically.
It may have been over ps now or something, also that demo is designed to give differnt haptic feedback through it so may also be doing that through sections.
So all in all despite a small game you would think it would be easier for xbox to show instant loading on presumably a small title in ram comparatively.
After all we have heard on this velocity architecture were yet to see an impressive result.
Series come in at $399?I kid...Maybe.
I'm a Sony man through and through. Got 5 Bravias in my home (6, but gave one away) and I'll be damned if I get another brand!![]()

You still going on my friend Bo?I tried talking to him before, the guy seems to have difficulties understanding English himself. Your post was perfect.
I was planning to buy a Cheap tv for the living room. Not worth wasting money on Satalite channels, but I was lucky to get a big electronic store coupon from my company. So I got that 65" 8000G for half the price. The living room became netflix room before I restricted it to young age due to the too much annoying homo stuff. Now it became cartoonflix tv.Well, got another 4K LCD LG in the living room for that childish ear-torture, away from me.![]()
And I was wondering why Sony 8K TV's are insanely expensive. Sony has standards, and they stick with it.
When the FUCK are they gonna show shit again? I was dead sure today they would announce their conference date. Please note that PlayStation twitter account changed the header to PS5!
