So, worst case scenario, a clueless parent walks into a store, with only "new Xbox" in mind, and their choices are:

Xbox Series S - 500 GB (4K Output and HDR Supported) - $299
Xbox Series X - 1 TB (8K Output and HDR Supported) - $499

Part of why Xbox can get away woth that is because the Xbox OS, UI/home screen/menus are only 1080p.

Digital Foundry confirmed even the Series X will not be able to render the home screen UI or menus at 4K. 1080p only for OS.

The PS4 Pro does 4K for all of its UI and menus. Hence why it needs some of the memory to render.
Safe to assume PS5 will be the same.

I know it passed few days. Do you have a link for DF statement? It baffles me that XSX won't render UI at 4k

Yeah but even PS4 Pro renders the UI at native 4K. I would absolutely expect Seriex to do the same.
As I briefly mentioned before the UI of a base PS4 is not so sexy on a 4K TV at a rational viewing distance imho.

What truth though? They the PS5 can't do Ray Tracing or that the load times are long? I'm not going to listen to Dealer type FUD when I have more reliable sources.

Also Flight Simulator 2020 is not even on Xbox and has no official release date while Gears Tactics is PC timed exclusive WTF, if Microsoft doesn't bother to release their games on Xbox, why would 3rd parties care?

Because let's think of it, most of the people propping Flight Sim are only doing it because of the Meta and that it came from MS, but have no interest in playing the game.....FS 2020 is not a traditional XBOX game like Gears, heavily multiplayer type mayhem with the dudebroness that they love, Even MS realizes that Flight Sim, which already has very limited appeal and a smaller demographic on PC, won't do all that well on PC....

So it's a question of. Should I waste money developing this to XBOX, cause the port will require an investment or should I focus on giving The Initiative or another studio that cash to see if they can hit something out of the park....Something that caters to a much wider demographic.......MS needs a game like that badly, the last one they had was Halo.....

Not really if I wanted the best I would give them a PC. But if they're young it would probably be the Switch. That's something that they can easily take everywhere and play anywhere.

Especially the Switch light since it doesn't have those removable Joy Cons.

As for me I game mainly on PC so an XSX doesn't really make sense to me but I can't live without those high quality PlayStation exclusives.

Yeah Killzone had the same mechanics as Tearaway Unfolded, Until Dawn, Shadow of Collosus and hmmmm Little Big Planet, GT Sport and Detroit. Bloodborne is demonstrably different to GOT, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted and God of War in terms of mechanics... But let's ignore all nuance because making a fallacy of defective induction and opining about stupidity is easier.

Besides many consider PC a platform that you can play games on. I mean I do it in a daily basis so I don't see why teenagers can't do the same. I always had a computer when when I was little the same will happen to my kids. Plus it's beneficial if they learn how to use a PC early on.
