Yeah I've defended their marketing up to this point, but this was such an easy opportunity for them to highlight exclusive launch games and they whiffed big time.

That info should not come from Geoff Keighley or a Blog post.

Spider-man and Horizon probably started development on PS4. There are many games that Sony still hasn't announced for PS5. Unlike Microsoft, they don't want to just put a CGI trailer that doesn't do anything. All games are running on PS5 and soon to be release.

Demons Souls is not coming to PC btw.

the entire point of first party is to be ready for next gen when we know third party wont be. thats their sole purpose. to sell consoles.

GOD FUCKING DAMN

I was so close to pre-ordering from Walmart. I had it in my cart and was putting in my address info when it told me they are out of stock. SHIT. I blame the fish.
 
Sorry guys, but horizon fw coming to ps4 is disappointing, it was supposed that this game would take total advantage of next gen ps5, and now they do that, didn't like this move by sony. While spiderman I can say that it can launch on ps4 just fine, obviously, there is enhancements in ps5 version, but horizon was a mistake :(
 
OK I know somethings happens that are unexpected but my impressions are as follows:

- final fantasy 16 looks ff15-2 gameplay and feel wait and see but if they improved the combat system and the open world missions and structure maybe it will be an ace in the hole ( big get for sony as ryan macaffry said )

- miles morales - horizon fw - sackboy being all cross gen games let not fool ourselves it is all clearly start devolopement in ps4 and later ported to ps5 engine and stuff all designed to ps4 so they can not change game design to fully take leaverage of ps5 also they want 120 million install base

- demons souls remake - astro bot - destruction all stars - ratchet and clank are only ps5 tittles for the time being so we have some games to justify our purchase of ps5

- lets not forget the prices are really great and the day one launch line up are miles better than ps4 launch remember kill zone shadow fall and knack

- finally gow2 in 2021 is huge and unexpected
 
Sony is too scared to leave their PS4 install base behind. Well, Sackboy for PS4 is okay, but Horizon FW and Miles Morales too? Not a good decision. Sony is a bit greedy here. Especially after Jim's comments about "wanting to give something that is only possible on PS5".
Also, it won't be too fun for Guerilla to cut down their game so it can be played on a PS4. Such a missed opportunity!

It was a bad day for PCs with the real 3000 series performance lower than advertised, but then Sony came to the rescue with Demon's Souls and higher game prices. Who would have thought?

edit: no Demon's for PC...

This is kind of where I'm at. The verbiage says "versions of games" not explicitly cross gen. I have a feeling a lot of shit is gonna be cut or severely downgraded. I'm not disappointed in the least but I was buying regardless

Guarantee Horizon was a PS4 game that too long to finish.

Cross Gen - I don't even mind that Spiderman was cross gen as it's using the same city and engine. Sackboy I expected that to be cross gen anyways due to basic graphics. But Horizon being cross gen is a huge dissapointment for me. I assumed all 2021 Sony published games would be full next gen only games. Now it has me questioning God of War 2, for something that would have hyped me especially that it's 2021, now making me question if it's cross gen as well.

Game Price Hike - UK price for a game is £70, to be fair I've never bought games digital anyways and retail is cheap if you can wait a few months but I'm questioning does this mean I have to wait even longer for cheap games as I usually buy games at £35ish.

Final Fantasy 16 - The footage just didn't excite me, not just the underwhelming graphics but not a fan of the setting.

PS4 Enhanced Games - No mention of PS4 games getting patched. In fact are people forced to buy Spiderman Remastered if they want to get a upgrade for that game, if PS4 Spiderman owners don't get a free patch that would be a huge blow.

I'm still buying a PS5 day one but I think I will hold off buying any games and play my PS4 backlog especially with the few extra games on that PSN Plus collection.

Final Fantasy graphics ard okay but the animations were really bad specifically in the combat.
 
hmmm tempted to pre order now on EB Games site but saw they have some package deals and makes me wonder if JB HiFi will do something similar and JB tend to be cheaper with games especially on the games release day

thats why u use google chrome. literally one click and it populated my name, address and then another click for my credit card.

yes, google is selling all information to chinese and russian governments but thats a small price to pay for a ps5 at launch.
