remember when i said i hope you get an xbox for Xmas, i hope its the $250 job one, not the full-blown spec one.
 
Don't care if perf mode looks close to PS4 Pro... 60FPS + them sweet minimal load times is plenty for me.

I'm a load time whore, you graphics whores are weird.

Game looks amazing on PS4 as is.. Sony's wizardry from last gen is gonna make for some diminishing returns this gen IMO lol

I hoped they could use their wizardry power to make transfer of game saves possible.

Even if so, I loved the original on my PS4Pro. So I'll take the 4K30fps beauty mode every time over the performance mode.

Performance mode doubles the frames. How is that not impressive. If you play at 30frames the game looks completely different.

Performance mode is stripped-down, as already stated by Insomniac. The screenshots are almost certainly from the enhanced mode that runs at 30fps. This isn't super-complicated, so I don't know if people are being intentionally obtuse. If Insomniac released only enhanced gameplay, people would ask to see the performance mode. And vice-versa. I assume they released performance mode, because it's in a better state of readiness right now. It's most likely the same as PS4 Pro @ 60fps, with some enhanced textures, models, and lighting here and there.

I imagine MM and the remaster should look identical in quality in their various modes. I don't think it was ever confirmed which mode we saw of MM. For all we know, it might well have just been performance mode that was running then too, seeing as I don't remember there being any windows to show reflections during that demo. Performance mode in this video clearly lacks the same reflections we see in the still. It's only reflecting the background, but not the player.

If the Pro and X versions have taught us anything, Performance modes and Quality modes are virtually identical on consoles. Now things might be different in this case, but we will see.

They said lighting and city was upgraded. I'm not seeing that here.
 
Seeing the remaster made me even more happy that I preordered the ultimate edition. Look at this. I care about them changing the model as much as I care that they reboot movies every few years and change the cast.

it bugs me to no end that male character models at sony games are allowed to be good looking, but when it comes to women they purposefully turn good looking real life models into dog face ingame character models.

That's most western games, not Sony games. Girls must be ugly. Guys have to be good looking. It's how the world is right now.

For a Spider-man fan that never played the first game the right face portail Peter way better than the left one.
The left one doesn't look like Peter Parker at all.

From purely a technical standpoint it seriously might be the best face render I've ever seen. In that screen I posted it looks like real life, just ever so slightly off.

i cant see it either. they said that they are redoing character faces and animations. doc oct looks identical. no upgrade was done to his face.

i feel stupid defending their decision to charge for this. the upgrade is very minor and could easily be done through a patch like legacy patches for ps4 pro games.

There are probably a few different things happening here, but likely a simpler LOD model was wrapped to simplify ray calculations and increase performance since simpler geometry is less jarring than less objects being reflected.

I agree. This is becoming a real issue for the equilibrium of those people. Microsoft needs to show something other than Halo Infinite. And possibly better.

The issue is that the MS multiplatform model won't allow them to show something better than what you will have on PS5 even with better GPU.
