well i am not sure anyone is looking to specifically downplay dirt on the xbox, i think i have said it a couple of times already, i expect it to look yucky on the ps5 too, i think its more to do with the developer that anything else, but that's just my opinion.

Xbox external SSD is also an open market. The only reason that Seagate is the first one, is because Microsoft worked together with 1 partner to make sure that at least 1 external SSD would be available at launch. They've already clarified that everyone can make one, it just has to live up to certain standards, just like with the PS5.

Let's say 10M buy an XSX/XSS on the first year. That still a small market compared to a normal NVME that encompasses PCs and PS5. Eventually manufacturers will take notice of the Xbox ecosystem, but I don't see enough competition for them not to charge premium.

Not saying MS approach is bad... Accessories are what make Sony and MS the real money on hardware.

What is your upper limit of (the extortionately costed) GDDR6 memory you are prepared to use in the consoles for your desired UI resolution - at the expense of less being available to game developers? Given what Sony achieved with tens of megabytes at 1080p on PS3's XMB, I'm more interested in less waste and a clean image at 1080p - than having to hit a 1 : 1 pixel ratio to give a clean image on the poorest versions of the latest resolution screens. A great UI is desirable, but not to the detriment of a 'game' console's primary use, but obviously it is fine if you still disagree.

I have a 65" LG C8 OLED but whatever.

Yes, you're also entitled to your opinion - my opinion is that a great UI rendered at native resolution is essential for a 4k console. It's the bare minimum for what I would expect for such a premium product. They could do it but choose not to.

Anything less is embarrassing, regardless of what TV you use. It's a joke. You don't have to agree

3% in cpu, 18% in gpu, and as for the memory bandwidth, keep in mind the ps5 can use 12 or 13GB for graphics at full bandwidth and the xbox only 10GB unless it wants to use lower bandwidth memory.

Not only that but the ps5 has like 2+X improvement in ssd, that will help with streaming and new content. And the ssd is said to have ram, while series x is said lacks ram, without ram it is said ssd performance can be unreliable and it can throttle from time to time.

Not to mentioned that PS5's SSD+I/O is as fast as a DDR4 RAM! So PS5 won't be RAM-starved, with data being fed directly to GPU caches, that are intelligently cleanse by cache scrubbers.
