Firstly, the onus is not on Microsoft, Sony, or Nintendo. The onus is on X-Gaming alone. If the X-Arcade was a successful enough product for them, then they will certainly try to carry on to the next gen. If they deem another run a possible loss, then we won't see two or three new adaptors.
Secondly, the X-Arcade only sucks when used with its console adaptors. It is the grandaddy of the anti-lag movement, as it's adaptors un-mistakenly cause lag. When used as a PC stick, optimally via USB, it is a nice product indeed.
Many are quick to bash it's lack of Happ parts, but the BoaLian clones that it shipped with are plenty good for emu play as is, and are certainly no worse than what ships in every Hori stick besides the RAP series.
