I think this Gundam is "in development", so to speak. Therefore some of the parts are still uncovered and you can see the internals.

Pretty sure that's the case with the pipes everywhere and the middle being as flimsy as it is, unless the top and bottom half can separate as some sort of Bit system for Newtypes.

Finally, Gundam Football.

Now that we've pretty much seen the whole suit, I like it a lot. I'm really interested to see what its weaponry and fighting style look like. It also looks like it'd be a fun suit to have in MG form. Color me excited so far.

Is it me or does it not have a cockpit between the top and the legs?

Would love to see more variable mech designs for this new G.

Cockpit looks like it is is where they normally are on the chest, it's just missing the normally red lower torso pieces to cover those hydraulics.

I really like the overall design and want to see it when it's finished.

I don't really know if this design is radically different in a way that necessitated a slow, drawn out reveal.

I mean, it looks cool and all but, eh. It's no Moustache Gundam.

I really dig that first look, felt like diet GP02 haha

Yeah, I'm digging it the more I look at it. Those bits of fan art get me rather excited to see it in action.

Yeah, as much as I like the design I'm not sure if it necessitated this sort of reveal. But hey, it got people paying attention and I'd imagine they have high hopes for it they probably wanted to hype people as much as possible.

Given the last two mainline series, I'm wondering if this will be more of a return to basics in a sense. Was it likely the series would be premiering this year? In the Fall I'd imagine?

The Origin is fucking with me. Just started watching this and paused at the part where Deikun was about to declare independence in 0068? Am I supposed to view this as a retcon or just some alternate take sort of thing?

You know what'd be cool?

If we had a female main protagonist this time piloting that thing.

I mean, we were already kinda getting somewhere having a Middle-East minority top billing 00.

I was thinking the same thing.

I absolutely was not expecting a middle-eastern protagonist for 00. I thought it was pretty interesting since it's something you don't see normally if at all.

Blitzendeggen!! I gave up on that show probably 10 eps in.
Valvrave was a trainwreck.

But damn those mecha designs were cool. almost Sexia levels.

I'd love a female protag.

They could be extra radical and go for a Korean protag.

I barely watched any of that show, but remember thinking the lead mechs weaponized energy shields were pretty cool.

A female lead would be pretty cool to see for sure.

Last time we did we got Cross Ange.
And if it really is Mari Okada writing this (it isn't!) we might.

I pretty much dislike all the designs in Valvrape. Especially the purple one with all the green shit on its body.
If you want this to bomb harder than AGE in Japan then yeah, go for a Korean protag.

I love Valvrave's mech designs as well.

Also, yeah it was a trainwreck, but it was a beautiful one. I haven't laughed that hard at a mech show in ages. If Tekketsu goes bad, let's hope it goes as bad as VVV.

The political stories in 0079 were mostly terrible and the weakest part of that series. The way The Origin changes things allows Yasuhiko to tell a political story during the OYW that's actually interesting. The Origin is a retelling of 0079, not a carbon copy remake. Just go with it and don't try to nitpick it for the original canon.

Yeah that one was pretty bad. But Valvrave 1 was cool.

Korean protag will never happen for that reason. But it would be bloody hilarious.

it sad that it's not really bulky after all, just the angle of the picture that made the silhouette look bulky.

Look good though, reserve final judgement for when I can see it in kit form.

Exactly one day from the official reveal as of now!
It has wings of light. Wings of light make everything better. If the real design does not have them, it is automatically worse.
As much as I like WoL I'd prefer them to have another schtick for this one.

Last time we did we got Cross Ange.

I didn't get to watch it, but wasn't that the show where
the main protag got raped/tortured the very first episode but continued on her daily routine right after as if nothing the fuck happened?

It's so odd how this is still an issue considering how Korean dramas became the hot shit in Japan the last decade, and we even got Byung Hun Lee in a Japanese game (Lost Planet).

Curious what they'll actually show off once the countdown ends since we've pretty much seen the entire suit now.

Cross Ange is a certain kind of crazy. No offense to people who like it but let's hope that this new Gundam show goes nowhere near it.

^ Looks like GP02's brother.

Oh, I'd LOVE a female protagonist for this new Gundam. A female sidekick like Aida would do fine as well, I guess.
The gundam looks too masculine for a female pilot though, but I hope I'm wrong.

It would be a neat contrast for a masculine mecha to be paired with a feminine pilot, I guess?

guys

it's going to be a male pilot, like every other gundam show in existence

you're just setting yourselves up for disappointment :(

Uuuuugh, this thread brought back the memory of me watching 11 episodes of that trash...The mechs were the only thing I liked.

On topic, though, I haven't watched Gundam in ages...I'd like to go at it again, and while there's only the teaser art, I'm intrigued.

It's counting down to a live press conference stream tomorrow at 12 noon in Japan, which will be streamed on the site worldwide with live translation into English. The mech reveal is just a teaser for fans.

I don't need a main female protag, just a female character that can pilot worth a damn (and actually pilot - as in going up against the aces, not just being a decent one and relying on the strength of her mech like Louise or smth).

I haven't watched it myself but from what I heard, yeah, pretty much. The Fukuda rabbit hole only goes deeper from there. A true Grade-A Sunrise trainwreck.

What about Marida?

I mean, yeah, she was piloting Kashatrya and Banshee for most of Unicorn, but I'm pretty sure she her skills were exceptional.

If just something like this AGE have it lol
