i hope we aren't looking past the redskins to the giants game. the game against the skins is a total trap game:

1. fly across the country
2. early game
3. struggling opponent
4. win streak

BUT! we've handled mediocre/shitty teams this season without much trouble: seachickens, bucs, browns. i expect us to dominate the skins but i wouldn't be surprised if it was a close games. we have to not turn the ball over and we should walk away with the win

So far, the 49ers have more wins than the rest of the division combined, has that ever been done in a season before? A division leader having more wins that the rest of the division combined?

i'm sure at some point in some seasons that has happened. there is no way we're going to have more wins than all the other teams in our division combined at years end just due to the fact that they also play each other so there has to be wins somewhere along the way.

there are also some toss up games for all 3 teams outside of the division

niners! Woo!!

Not that it matters since the division was locked up after the Lions game. But hey, New orleans losing makes a bye week more reasonable.

Gore still doing Gorey things. Crabtree scoring, now. Things looking better and better.

Can't believe the Saints lost to the Rams. WTF.

division title is definitely within our sights but we need to keep our momentum. the NFC east and NFC South "leaders" are very inconsistent so we could definitely sneak in with a bye week which would be huge. but we still have to show up. as the rams proved today, any team in the league could feasibly beat any other team in the league

Titans back on track..I know its against a weak team but gotta take advantage of them.

CJ1/4K might lose his starting job. Hes not geting to the holes fast enough

Flacco redeemed himself this week the comeback of biblical proportions. Top 7 QB for sure. Vick and Eli are top 3.

Flacco is fucking horrible regardless of that comeback. He is waaaay too inconsistent and just plays bad games sometimes. He is like watching a heartbeat monitor. Up and down. Still blown away that Tebow played better than him last week...cause tebow sucks....(pretty good leader though).

vick and eli I would put in top 10....def not top 3 tho....

now if you are only talking about this sunday and this sunday only....then yea...

No doubt, anything can happen, and that's even ignoring injuries.

Good thing is Niners are finally getting their WRs back with Crabtree at nearly full speed after some horrible early weeks in physical ability. Edwards will be back in better shape, too, not too long from now. And Gore is definitely healthier.

Can't give away games they need to win like the Saints did.

Washington has to be a win even on the road. Jon Beck is trash. Sacked 9 times to a team with 4 all season!?!? Can't throw these games away. Giants after that is a tough one.

edit: Flacco redeemed himself? He was garbage. Boldin bailed his ass out in the 3rd ad the Ravens continue to ignore Rice too much, despite his TDs. 6.5 ypa with 3 sacks and 1 int. Boldin made his line look okay.

Flacco is Alex Smith East, only our Harbaugh is smarter and doesn't try to force Alex to do stuff when it doesn't need to happen.

This is the shit I do when I can't sleep:

Let's see, here's some at the end of the regular season:

1946 AAFC East

1961 AFL West

1975 NFC West

2007 AFC East

Doesn't happen too often, though there's good odds for it happening this year.

I still can't believe we have another 10:00 am game in the Eastern Time zone. That's already 4! Next week is going to be very telling about where we are as a team.

I expect heavy blitzing and a lot of man. Niners, 24-10.

Awesome, though could someone explain to me what the hell did the Pats do? I hate being on the sidelines for games.

Yet another game made much closer than it needed to be. A win is a win is a win, and the Jags always play us close (expected, laughed at the 10 pt spread), but I'd like to be able to consistently put teams away. Now we get the Browns and the Bucs, then go into the bye. Hopefully Andre is back next week even if just to get him back into game action, used wherever necessary against the Bucs, give him the bye off, then be ready to go again week 12.

While Gabbert's line was kind of awful, he was making some decent throws, it's just Joseph was getting to them on one side, or the WRs were just dropping the ball. Not saying he'll be good, but he's not as awful as the numbers show (if only marginally)

Our offense is just fucking unbearable to watch. I'd rather watch fucking baseball. Good game 49ers, happy for you guys after having so many shit years. We'll get ours someday....probably when I'm too old to thoroughly enjoy it. And by thoroughly enjoy it, I mean talk a gang of trash on the internet.

Ya, it's been like that for a while. He has some bad throws that are inaccurate but for the majority at least he was hitting players straight on and they were dropping it. He's not perfect but at least he's not throwing directly to the other team like McCown was.

Don't worry, Beck will probably get sacked about 20 times.

Can we just fast forward to next season? I have seen enough of this year's Redskins.

Looking forward to the Schaub hate to help fill my morning run. Dreesen bailed him out on that TD, and Daniels on that 3rd and 5. He played like scaredy Matt Schaub again.

But he's a top 10 QB, which is amazing. Though I wonder how he'd fare if he switched places with Flacco

I'm not too broken up over the Skins, I went into this season knowing that they're about 2-3 seasons away from being consistent and/or competent.

Skins need a QB, it is going to take more then 2 years to draft and develop one of those. Plus they win jut enough games that they wont b able to draft one of the big time QBs coming out this year. The Skins are tuck in some weird middle ground where they are not good enough to make the playoffs, but not bad enough to get the help that they need.

This year sucks for primetime games. Last year I so looked forward to SNF games (and to some extent even Monday Night games) but this year has been a disaster. I don't think I've watched more than two Night games in their entirerty.

Some of the games that looked like clunkers turned out amazing (woo hoo Colts!) but you can't blame anyone for last night. Obviously the NFC East rivalries will get plenty of prime time games.

The problem this year isn't really the selection, it's the league. Yesterday there was only one single game where both teams had winning records. What the fuck? Looking at the schedule, there was zero good options for a prime time game. Just flex the Packers to Sunday night, the Steelers to Monday night and fuck the rest of the league. We'd be better off with nation wide blackouts of those games.

Six teams with winning records had byes yesterday. It was just a statistical fluke.

Best game I have seen the Steelers play in two years.

Good news about the Saints losing.

Poor Colt McCoy, he gets no respect. He called his momma after the game Sunday and she had him on her block list. If he gets released by Cleveland next year, he would be a good back-up.

Texans and Lions manned up and got over their losing streaks. Good for them.

Again, great news about the Saints losing. They do seem to take their press to heart by skipping the preliminaries such as actually playing and head for the winners stand prematurely.

Right. My point was that ABC (and ESPN tonight) really couldn't win no matter what happened and neither could the NFL.

I don't think this atrocious season has anything to say about the overall state of the NFL. It's just a down year.

Uhh. No. they do this guaranteed every year a couple of times no matter what their record is. This particular game was just in contrast with a record setting one.

eh i dont think he looked all that great. The Texans did have 9 passes defensed though.

Perhaps the quality of play really did take a hit from the lockout.

No OTAs plus the new rules limiting practice have really hurt the quality of play so far this year. I just hope that next year having a full off season will really help boost things.
