Is Simms trolling? Does he really think "arm strength" only applies/matters when chucking it deep?

Also, listening to Milwaukee radio this morning you'd have no idea the Packers won. It reminds me of last December. "Yeah, they won...but if they can't figure out how to run the football they aren't going anywhere!"

When do we gave Wade his Medal?

I don't give a fuck who we have played....that's just crazy

At least they care. St Louis doesn't air any local radio until 9 . . . baseball town

Texans fans don't know what to do with themselves so I'm hearing sad conversations about how LSU/Bama was a good game

So Green Bay is similar to New England?

So Carimi isnt playing tonight? I heard yesterday he would be playing. That is big if he cant.

he was never going to play against the eagles, last week the coaches said they were going to stick with the starting 5 they have been trotting out there for consistency since they have been blocking better the past 2 weeks. him being unavailable to play only hurts us from a depth standpoint if Lance or Jamarcus get hurt.

Not really. It's a more intelligent hand-wringing. New England fans refuse to see anything wrong when things are going good and want everyone fired when something goes wrong. Packers fans are always looking for ways to make the team better...and when you're 8-0 those nitpicks start to get necessarily more hyperbolic.

Patriots/Red Sox fans also bail when the going gets tough (Imma play some Generic Shooter 7, f' these qweahhs!). Packers fans just get more passionate and tend to get more optimistic when things are going bad.

I'm pretty sure the Browns are the worst team in the NFL but because we beat 3 other shitty teams we won't get Luck. Down three running backs and two starting o-lineman, completely unwatchable.

I think that better describes people outside of the area describing our teams.

Packers fans intelligent?

I'm sure you have listened to a whole lot of 670. You should know better than to question the intelligence of other teams fans.

There is no lower rung than Bears fans.

Green Bay won and the area has a good team.
They have the best franchise in the history of the sport. Simple as that.

Except if you are a Steelers fan and your history of football begins in the 70s.

No. If the Browns played the Rams or the Colts, the two best players on the field would be Haden and Thomas.

You just have a shit coach/GM/QB

Both their baseball teams choked?
You've lost two Super Bowls in the prior couple seasons and your baseball team with the highest payroll in sports have choked as well.

You only speak in troll talk but have no accomplishments to back it up. So I ask, what are you talking about?

29-40 isn't choking, it's just bad baseball. I'm kind of surprised you follow the Timber Rattlers though. Didn't know you were such a big fan of minor league baseball.

Eagles sports radio is pretty special after a bad loss.

That is really all I am familiar with. Never listened to other sports radio over the net. But Philly fans can be pretty damn entertaining (and also very frightening).

Packers have a shit defense and an easy schedule. They will lose if they play a good qb this year. I forget their schedule but I am not sure if they are playing any good qbs with a good offense this year (2011 Brees and Rivers are not good).

saw this article on friday I think, reading over someone's shoulder on the train...

The Footage the NFL Won't Show You
Despite Its TV Ubiquity, the League Won't Share "All-22" Footage; Second-Guessing the Coach

...Charley Casserly, a former general manager who was a member of the NFL's competition committee, says he voted against releasing All-22 footage because he worried that if fans had access, it would open players and teams up to a level of criticism far beyond the current hum of talk radio. Casserly believed fans would jump to conclusions after watching one or two games in the All 22, without knowing the full story.

"I was concerned about misinformation being spread about players and coaches and their ability to do their job," he said. "It becomes a distraction that you have to deal with." Now an analyst for CBS, Casserly takes an hour-and-a-half train once a week to NFL Films headquarters in Mt. Laurel, N.J. just to watch the All-22 film.

I never figured we'd ever get access to this, and I always feared this was why, fear of criticism, shitty...

The exact same could be said about your team. Actually, it could be said about any team int he NFL practically.

I only like listening to Bears postgame coverage after losses. There is nothing more wildly entertaining than listening to Ed and Doug rip the team after bad games. Radio gets pretty heated here, but I can't compare it to Philly because I have no frame of reference.

Thank God they never have to play Flacco or Schaub. They have had to play scrubs like Brees and Rivers. True, they haven't beaten the caliber of QB the Steelers have, but how many teams have to play a murderers row like Tarvaris Jackson, Curtis Painter, Matt Hasselbeck, Blaine Gabbert and Kevin Kolb? I mean, that's a once in a decade stretch of talent the Steelers have had to deal with.

Thankfully, this includes the playoffs!

Lies. Home vs the Bears on Christmas Night. Going to steal that game and ruin the perfect season. NBC does blockbuster ratings.

That has "Giants aren't showing up" written all over it.

Giants will be coming off of a Monday night game against the Saints to go to Green Bay. Short week and travel never bodes well. Compound it with the Packers getting ten days off because they'll have played the previous Thursday. Blow out confirmed. Bad job by the NFL scheduling committee.

Average rating of opponent quarterback:

Green Bay: 85.35

Pittsburgh: 81.21

:jnc

Pittsburgh has also played the two worst quarterbacks in all of football: Gabbert and Painter. Ya, the Packers wins are soft. Too funny.

Did I miss a schedule change?

I still think the Packers are going to pull a Peyton Manning. They will be 13 or 14-0 and having wrapped home field a month before they will rest their starters and their scrubs will go 1-1 before they are one and done in the playoffs (with like 100 flukey things going against them only to see some bullshit 4th quarter drive by someone like Vick to end their season which will include at least miracle play, like maybe a running play who knows).

Everything has happened before and will happen again.

The Steelers on the other are in great shape. We will be fighting for that 5th or 6th seed with the Bungles. And as we all know, wild cards are where champions are born. Thanks Ravens. When we beat you in Baltimore for the championship we won't forget this favor.

Most of the yards came via the Tebow Option. Same with a lot of McGahee's. It's like the Raiders had no idea that was coming.

I was watching a bit of this game on Rewind to see how Tebow did. And yeah, the option totally had the Raiders in knots. The Raiders should have seen it coming, but it still can be pretty hard to get in good practice reps against an offense that isn't run very often in the NFL. Looks like running more of his old college offense made Tebow more comfortable as well. He was still crazy inaccurate, but he did actually squeeze in some nice throws today.

I actually kinda want Denver to bring onboard Paul Johnson from Georgia Tech to coach and just try to roll out the triple option if they are going to stick with Tebow. As far as I can recall on of the big arguments against it was that valuable QBs would get dinged, but Tebow is built like a truck so I don't see that as a problem here. And from what I've seen I just don't see him as ever being accurate enough to pass from the pocket full time. Might as well let him do what he does best. Plus the triple option relies heavily on cut blocking, something that the Broncos used to be pretty good at as I recall.

I never said we were unbeatable or even good.

seems like when tebow actually manages a decent spiral he's pretty accurate, but that seems to be 50/50. I guess his technique is just terrible.

Bionic is getting hyperbolic, but the Texans didn't beat us with Schaub. They beat us on the ground with Foster.

Regardless, I can't stand this "Best team in the NFL" thing. It's week nine. We have 7 more weeks before we should get into this conversation.

Listen, can't we all get on board the Barkley Bandwagon?

Green bay game is at home, but still those 2 games will be hell for the D.

It's always been clear they were scared of everyone seeing this stuff. So many times I've watch games and hear the announcers fall over themselves in not being critical of bad QBs. All about their image management

News of the survey made its way to NFL message boards and fan sites, where the response among football obsessives was wildly positive. "Yes! Yes! Yes!" said one message-board post. Another said, "The All-22 tape would be amazing. We'd actually be able to see what the safeties are doing."

On a Buffalo Bills fan site called "The Buffalo Range," one message-board member said "I've been dying for them to release it for years. Please help me stuff the ballot box."

The NFL says the league wasn't actually serious about releasing the footage. The survey was meant only to gauge fan interest, Aiello says. "There's not a product in development," he says. "This is a long way from becoming a reality, if ever."

Cool. Thankfully there is no team with both a good running game and a good quarterback tis year. So far, the Packers have beaten the third best quarterback in football and the best running back in football. They have beaten a great defense and dynamic unknown rookies.

There is no mythical complete team for the Packers to beat. They don't exist. The Packers are built pretty perfectly to win football games in the 2011 NFL. If they had Nick Collins I'd say they would potentially be historically good. As it is, they are good enough for this year. 14-2 is gonna feel gooooood.

Sorry, didn't check the schedule ol' buddy.

That was a legit question, not trying to be an ass. I have no idea what sorts of bizarre powers Goodell has these days, and I wouldn't put it past him to give Green Bay all home games to drum up 16-0 excitement. As long as Tebow keeps starting, no one would notice.

Sadly there is absolutely no chance the Eagles make the playoffs, plus no team in the NFL can beat Gb so it doesnt really matter. I do think you are right that they rest their starters and lose a game before the playoffs start.

We're home for the Packers. (beaten)

I see the Saints game as the "come out flat" experience, personally. Especially if we're coming off a few wins against the Niners and Eagles...

I can't stand the Eagles but I'm not stupid enough to count them out. Too much talent and as much as you Eagles fans love to hate Reid, he gets his team playing well in the second half.

It's in NY. And the Giants are that rare team that play up to their competition, which is good for them given the rest of their schedule.

They play the Bears and Lions the last two weeks of the season. There is a real chance that even if the Packers are undefeated those games might have implications.

Plus, the 49ers are the second greatest team in history (such a historic year!) so the Packers will have to win to ensure home field advantage.

Every team can be beaten.

Even in a down year for the rest of the league, the Packers can and will slip up this year. My lowly Panthers almost had them down 17-0 through a quarter.

Ugh. Poor Rams GAF. Not only losing the game but yet another receiver. Can Clayton play the slot? Because otherwise the team seems awfully close to needing SJax there.
