NFL 2012 Week 1 |OT| A New Hope

Glad we kept Edwards, he looked good enough for a 3rd-stringer and has some starting experience as a Bill. Now let's see what, if anything, we get for Kafka.

Also think that with the QB battle decided, we're down to two more cuts. Either McBriar/Henry at P and one other cut.

And with Atogwe cut, we're now down to Allen/Coleman/Jarrett at safety, so I'd think we'll add some depth there before next Sunday.

Lions waive CB Alphonso Smith, per source with knowledge of situation.

Panthers drop CB Darius Butler, once a second-round pick of the Patriots.

So Butler does suck.

I hope they can trade Polk for something. They have so much depth at RB, no reason to keep him.

The Saints have a problem with way too many good receivers.
Cant keep them all. Its a good problem, but someone pretty good is gonna have to walk.

Yeah but I want someone who scares the defense.

Welker and Lloyd will do that just fine. Its good to have some guys like Edelman and (hopefully) Gaffney who will be solid targets that aren't always being picked up.

With Gronk and Hernandez, its a frightening enough receiving corps for defenses.

Nothing like coming home to news of Seneca and the Browns parting ways. Thanks goodness. Also, since these are the Cleveland Browns, this will probably be the only good news all season long.
I wouldn't mind Wallace as a backup qb for the Steelers.

Leftwich and Batch are both getting old as fuck. We need some young(er) blood backing up Ben!

All of those guys are possession players. Gronk can occasionally break a big play, but he is there to get first downs, break tackles, score TDs, and spread STDs. And he does a pretty good job of it.

Lloyd is the guy they are hoping can stretch the field. The problem with that is that scientifically women can't throw a football far enough or fast enough to maximize a guy like Lloyd. So a real man like Tebow would be able to get the ball downfield for Lloyd to drop but a shemale doesn't have that kind of arm strength. I am pretty sure most of the Pats 15 yard plays came as a result of Brady begging and crying for a flag. And we all know that a crying woman always gets her way.

Wow, this post had a level of misogyny that would probably even make some Packer fans uncomfortable and would probably turn on eznark.

Update on ref situation:

@AdamSchefter: Source tells ESPN’s @darrenrovell that difference between refs, NFL is $45 million over next seven years

Redskins safety Tanard Jackson has been suspended indefinitely for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy:

Redskins safety Tanard Jackson been suspended indefinitely for violating the league's substance-abuse policy, Fox Sports' Jay Glazer reported Friday. The NFL will revisit his case in a year. Jackson, meanwhile, is trying to appeal the ruling.

Not a prob dude. OT just showed me how to properly beat my wife. I always asked eznark for lessons but that bastard said it was packers only.

Now that I have spousal abuse down can you Pat fans show me how to be racist? With a Republican president and congress and house I think that skill might come in handy starting in 2013.

I don't think Ben will miss a single game in his life anymore after the way he somehow came back from the Browns hit last year.

Also, Saints cut John Kasay.
He was invaluable last season and very consistent but I think age is catching up with him.
Garrett Hartley has won the job back.

He is the toughest qb in the game, but to be fair he played like shit after you fuckers broke his ankle.

The problem was that it was the end of the season and the only way to heal that injury was rest. We had no good options and we were all out of steroids, the Giants bought it all up in anticipation of their late season push.

Not that Wallace is good but he seems like he would be a decent backup qb.

No guesses on seeding or the playoffs. Just how I think the divisions will play out.

Surprisingly, there were no takers for Mike Kafka. From PFT:

The Eagles finally got stung by their own sting. After trading a bevy of quarterbacks over the years who ended up being busts elsewhere, the Eagles found no taker for Mike Kafka.

He has been released according to sources.

----------------------------------------------

Also, Witten is likely out week 1 against the Giants. As per Schefter:

August 31, 2012:After meeting with several medical specialists this week, doctors still have not cleared Dallas TE Jason Witten to play in Wednesday's regular-season opener vs. Giants, according to league source. Witten is not expected to be re-evaluated until early next week, which means the chances of him playing Wednesday night are "not good."

2 spots open in the NeoGAFers FF league. Snake draft. Free. Drafting Sunday.

I might have to shut that bitch down if it doesn't fill up. Longest running GAF FF league dead. End of an era!
