Anyways I got bored and pop in FFXIII, WTF was square thinking, I'm 10 hours in and I'm still on auto pilot. I hope they bring FFXII to the PS4/PS3 for some HD goodness, I loved that battle system.

Man looks like another week 506sports breaks my heart. Showing Pitt/Clev for our area but we're in pa close to the ny border and on the other side they showing balt/jets. According to atlantic broadband looking like they choosing ny side for us once again, they did this last week with the Lions/Steelers game that 506 said we'd get :/

Ive made it known Im displeased by this winning. Being 8-8/9-7 back to back years and possibly making the playoffs this year does nothing but hurt our future. I dont want to be the Bills of the future finishing 7-9 yearly. Lets break up the vets, bring in solid prospects and reboot this shit. I see nothing on this team that screams SB contender in 2 years. And the cap and vets are holding us back. Time to start over. Id rather tank for 2 years and build a foundation for a SB contender than sit around .500 for a decade

You should go post in the NBA thread if you want to watch a team tank on purpose. Find me an example of an NFL team successfully tanking for multiple years then going on to championship form.

Only way to get better is the draft and then superior coaching to maximize that talent. Tanking won't help. A top 3 pick is not enough to fill all of our holes.

We suck now because we have sucked in the draft and have not been able to add new talent.

Yes we have to get rid of the shit vets on defense but replacing them with bums will only make us average. We need depth and 2 blue chippers on both sides of the ball to contend again. And these coaches need to start doing their jobs and max out the young guys we do have

Draft a #1 receiver and 6 defensive backs. But the day the Steelers start losing on purpose is the day I squicken. It's retarded and it doesn't work in the NBA, either.

Rockets tanked for Olajuwon. Polian tanked for Luck. For very special talents, it is worth it. But it is very rare to find a guy like that. I also think it is a brutal risk to take with your fans

I made this point before with Luck. It was one year and that one guy was worth it. Plus the circumstances made it tenable. But Clowney won't fit in Pittsburgh, Olajuwon wouldn't have any titles if Jordan hadn't been playing AA ball and Luck is currently without a ring.

If it didn't work in the NBA you wouldn't have half the league trying to do it.

It works in basketball because 1 elite player is worth so much more than 1 guy in football, unless its an elite quarterback. Tanking for a DE is just stupid.

We are bad, you wouldnt be able to tell the difference. 2 less wins this year and we're in the range I want. Would you notice 2 less wins in a season like this? Im not saying tank for a #1, Im saying lose enough to get a top 7 pick. Also Kevin Colbert and crew will probably fuck up any pick anyways. So I guess we should target him and them first.

Basketball is different.

You need a superstar to have a chance and there are very few guys like that. No one player can change your fortune like in the NFL. Cowboys showed us the value of multiple picks over one player in the 90s.

And a lot of the best players in the NFL are not drafted early.

Again you just need a good GM and a coach to take advantage and max out those guys.

I'm always skeptical if a young WR can't see the field by the end of the year. He should at least show improvement year one, and they wouldn't have drafted him if they didn't need WR help

But it doesn't work, which is why the league sucks so much. Sure, you might get a good/great player, but even then, it's no guarantee of success. If you're a small market team, you get a LeBron type talent for a few years and then get to watch him walk away and win championships with a large market team.

I don't visit the NBA thread, but I'm sure there are Knicks/Lakers fans who want their teams to tank, but in reality they should just wait until those guys become free agents and then snap them up. Those teams should just be figuring out ways to cut payroll and wait for some guys to become available.

Could be the 49ers with Jenkins. Rams have got very little from Brian Quick. Such a hard position to figure out, aside from the obvious freak talents that always go in the first round

Where are the Browns fans?

In the last three games, Browns quarterback Jason Campbell is 12-of-21 passing on third downs with six or more yards to go. Only three of those completed passes resulted in first downs and he was sacked on three drop backs.
