WILL "THE THRILL" HILL

I wasn't paying attention. Wtf happened?

Garcon made a catch that was close to a 1st but short. Refs moved the chains and called it a first though, so the Redskins ran a downfield type throw that you do on a 1st down. That throw was incomplete and refs went back and said "Our bad it's really 4th and 1".

Refs have dick all to do with how that game ended. Garcon got the shit stolen from him. If it were a turnover on downs then blame the refs.

The chain gang moved to indicate that it was a first down, but the refs ruled it was a third down slightly before RGIII snapped the ball (he never knew). He threw it down the field, thinking he had a fresh set of downs. The pass was incomplete, so it was suddenly 4th and 1, which ended with a pick (depending on how they ruled it).

In other words, they got fuuuuuuuuuuuuucked.

giants should be forced to give this win back to the redskins. while we're at it, give the super bowls back to the pats. dat mara money

Amusingly though, Davis caught it. He was wide open and dropped it when Antrel laid the wood.

Shitty the way it worked out and its totally a ref screw up but the receiver catches the ball and holds on and it's a non-issue.

It wasn't a pick. They converted the 4th down, but Garcon had it stripped on the conversion during a tackle.

They converted the 4th down, even if the refs fucked up they guys got it and Will hill ripped the ball out

That's besides the point, you can't change a play after a previous one has been ran.

The minute the refs said its 1st and 10 and that pass to Davis was incomplete, that play is ran.

If that happened to the Giants, you'd be pissed right now.

Affected playcalling as they should have went for a short gain on third instead of throwing downfield like they had downs to burn.

no I get that, but they still managed to overcome the blunder...until he was robbed. major fuck up by the refs and totally screwed wash because i'm sure they would have ran different plays but still they had it.

Have to disagree. You don't call the same play on 2nd & 10 and 4th & 1. Giants D still made the play to end it, but the Skins have a major reason to complain.

Football is really getting ridiculous this season. That's at least three or four weeks now where there has been at least one major WTF story in the news the next day (usually about confusing rules).

While we did not deserve to win, there's no denying that the refs blunder fucked our play calling and changed the outcome of the game.

The plays that occurred would not have been run if the refs didn't fuck up.

Garcon is going to get out of being the goat b/c of that ref screw up, but getting that ball stripped, and all the drops, was brutal

I dont know how you can say the refs didnt have a hand it how it ended. it messed up their playcalling

Doubt it. They didn't slow down their hustle at all in that confusing situation. They played the next play immediately. I bet they were trying to get a play in so that Gaints couldn't challenge.

If Davis caught that wide open pass that he dropped, would any Washington fan care?

First of all, it was obvious it wasn't a first. They tried to make it right though it was a weird turn of events.

how can you say the play calling wasn't affected by the fact that they had to convert a fourth down instead of a new set?

There was nothing confusing as far as they were concerned when they made that play. First down signaled, chains moved, incomplete pass, whoops 4th down.

They threw the ball. Would they not have thrown the ball if it were 2nd down?

If they ran up the gut and got stuffed, the refs are directly responsible.

They had the first down but it got stripped from Garcon. Again, if it was an incomplete pass, or a stuffed run up the gut, it is directly the refs fault. But it was a stripped ball. That could have easily been their call on 2nd down. The circumstances of the turnover make it different than a direct fucking by the refs.

if they didn't call that a 1st down and change it back to 4th later on, RGIII clearly would have scored a touchdown and gotten the 2 point conversion. you're all being pig headed if you disagree.

Yes i would be angry, but they still converted that 4th down, right now i would be more pissed that the game ended on a turn over...

so let's be honest, if the refs don't make that mistake is anyone beating the redskins? they are at least a top 1 team in the league with a victory tonight.
