NFL 2013 Week 17 |OT| The Sentimental Drunk

That's exactly what we've all been saying for 2 years now. Glad to finally hear it from him.

Also, :jnc at how he declined comment when asked if Stafford had been pushed hard enough. It was quite clear Schwartz babied the guy.

I really wonder about the whole Stafford/Schwartz situation. On one hand I want to say it's probably not so much that Schwartz "babied" him as it was he just has no idea how to manage a quarterback, and is so stubbornly loyal to his staff that he didn't want to hand off that responsibility to someone else. I've also wondered at times if Stafford's draft position and contract size have made it hard for the coaches to really grind him publicly.

Gonna be a very very interesting offseason...

We're just gonna pretend that whole Niners phase never happened? If it means we can pretend that whole idiotic typing with an accent phase never happened I am totally fine with it,
How dare I be-speckle these hallowed halls with a little bit of silliness. The accent thing was unfunny I'll give you that.

I don't understand you.
There's more than one Bay? You regionalist! All you hippie liberals are the same. You think the world revolves around you.

New OLINE and TENDS please. I don't think Gilbride will be canned even though he may deserve it.
Eli had his best season with Sullivan as his QB coach. He had Freeman to deal with in Tampa but I'd be concerned we'd be trading one for one with Gilbride/Sullivan considering they run very similar systems/concepts. If we're going to can Gilbride, I'd like an upgrade. That's not to say Sullivan can't be that either.....

I like what I'm hearing from Mara though. Eyes very open about the teams problems and the mistakes they made. Glad to hear his support of Coughlin as well and I hope his return is announced quickly. Stability before overreaction.

49ers vs Packers.

Will FMT's and Eznark's friendship survive?
More likely to survive than the Packers defense. Niners going to push those fuckers into the ground.

Of course since the playoffs make no sense and the Packers have no right to be in this game they are going to win it easily by 2 plays that are so lucky you wouldn't be out of line calling them acts of God.

Yeah, Mara knocked it out of the ballpark. I was really impressed with him and I am glad that he's the owner and not his dad.

On Sullivan, the one thing I remember about him during the America's game was him talking up Cruz nonstop during that run. I was impressed with his hunger, where I think sometimes somebody like Gilbride just loses the desire to reinvent his offense.

The last of us was pretty good. Whats keeping it from game of the year contention for me is the lack of replay value. Absolutely no point to pop that game in again.

So basically Hundley or Manziel.
Everybody besides Bridgewater or Hundley has huge red flags. The big knock on Hundley is that he has trouble throwing the deep ball, but something tells me throwing to Gordon will alleviate those issues.

And GMs are only enamored with Bortles because he's big and white, and team owners want a chance to sexually harass his girlfriend at team events.

There is only one Bay that anyone gives a shit about, and its not some shit hole in a fly over state.

those last 2 games

nightmares...

How do you think the 90's were for us!?!?

I fully expect to lose this game on Sunday.

Yeah, don't get me wrong. I was very high on Sullivan after the 2011 season but his stint with the Bucs worries me. Mara's comments were pretty damning for Gilbride though. I think Coughlin will be his usual loyal self but a change may be coming.

Very little on the defensive front. I honestly think Fewell is safe (and I've said several times - I think he deserves to be).

This comment though:

"I’m not sure why it took us three years to find out Jerrel Jernigan could play,'' Mara said. "Sometimes you have to put younger players in the game and give them a chance. It would have been nice for him to get in a little bit earlier. That’s not my decision.''

..yeah.

One last thing on the Mara conference. Hakeem Nicks met with the media earlier and was asked if he was injured this season. His response:

Hakeem: "I played at 100% this year"

Mara today: "He was hurt most of the year"

So long Hakeem. It's been nice.

Coughlin's 2 flaws are his loyalty to staff and reluctance to play young guys, although you could say the first flaw has benefitted him to some degree. I thought Fewell should have been fired the previous year, but he really did have a bounceback year while losing his most important player (I think Stevie Brown was tailored for his defense).

I love how Mara echoed everything the fanbase has said, I'm so glad to have an owner who gets it.

You can almost respect a player more for not falling back on an injury as an excuse.

So who's the next coach and/or GM to be fired? Dennis Allen and Reggie McKenzie? I don't think so, maybe Allen is on his way out but McKenzie is here for the long run.

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage

Mayhew made it sound like Stafford was clearly not being pushed enough by the staff.

Can't wait for the draft now.

Can't say enough how happy I am that I still get to stick with the Lions bros on the board. Would have been a rough year had they kept Schwartz.

The coverage was built around the pressure getting there at the appropriate time. The play was only made when Rodgers was somehow able to escape out of the pocket despite the blitz getting through. For most of the quarterbacks in the league, Cobb never has the opportunity to get deep enough to be open.

Kuhn and friends alert. That was all Kuhn.

You can, sure. You don't however pay him #1 WR money when he's proven to be made of glass. Guy cannot stay healthy. I question his effort this season, too. In several games.

Didn't need an excuse (though I'm sure he and his agent will throw out follies as to why he's been so poor this season). He looked slow, uninterested at times.

When are you going to lose that avatar?

Well it was to the end of the season, but then the person called off the bet. I don't want to go to a SF-Giants one right away, and those NFL DOTA 2 avatars are pretty badass, but I don't know who made/makes them. Maybe I'll just continue to torture myself with this avatar.
