I hate Dallas so I want the Eagles to beat them, but I want Dallas to be the team that wins the division and gets destroyed by GB in the 1st round. I want to see the Eagles focus exclusively on the defense in the offseason, if Foles continues to play well. I would love to see the Eagles pick in the top 10 again next year. Get 2 new safeties and a corner in the draft. The DL is doing a really good job with getting pressure but the DBs cant cover/tackle at all.

I certainly think the Eagles have a shot to win the division. The offensive numbers they put up are great, and I like Foles (I know some Eagles fans do not) to be more consistent than Vick. Dallas isn't going to run off a 10 win season either. Not with their injuries on defense. If Hatcher isn't playing then DAL might have a just as bad if not worse defense

Guy brings up good points.
Browns fans need to get over it. He's starting the rest of the season barring injury, and we have a pretty good idea of his strengths and limitations so far.

The entire team shit the bed in the second half against Detroit, yet Weeden seems to be getting 99% of the blame.

I'll start this week's Gifcamming with this play. It says a lot that Ben would rather throw to a Double covered Miller than a bracketed Paulson.

Fuck it. I hope they start Jason Campbell so they'll realize their offensive issues extend far beyond the QB position. Or bring back Colt McCoy. I'm sure some fans would absolutely love that.

This. Best thing for Weeden is to suffer another injury and let Browns fans have their Jason Campbell era. It's too bad the front office is letting him be the pinata

Dat salt!!

Honestly, this is bullshit. Browns fans need to stop using him as a punching bag for the Holmgren era. His last INT was bad, but there's no need for this kind of shit.

QB A: 202 yds, 0 TDs, 1 INT (which ended the game)
QB B: 292 yds, 2 TDs, 2 INT (1 of which ended the game)

QB A: Andrew Luck
QB B: Brandon Weeden

I understand the frustration of Browns fans, and that includes me. The second half performance was shitty, but putting it all on Weeden is also complete bullshit.

Fuck it. I hope they start Jason Campbell so they'll realize their offensive issues extend far beyond the QB position. Or bring back Colt McCoy. I'm sure some fans would absolutely love that.

Yesss dat saaalllttt!

So Kave, you need to go to Fed-Ex Kinkos or something and print out a high glossy Posterboard cutout of your GAF avatar and hold it up in the crowd so we know it's you!

We'll all be so proud.

I refuse, that requires extra work from me. Ain't nobody got time for that.

I totally agree it wasn't all on Weeden. As you said before, coming out of halftime, the D could have stepped up and caused trouble for the Lions, but I feel they just made better halftime adjustements than we did (which were seemingly none.)

The QB play was just atrocious in the 2nd half, which is where the issues of accuracy and decision making come up as he certainly did us no favors.

So it would seem for us to win, the coaching staff needs to do better on both ends to come up with better schemes for Brandon to succeed and the D needs to be a little more creative. Although our secondary is still a big weakness other than Haden,

I refuse, that requires extra work from me. Ain't nobody got time for that.

Oh, don't worry. I'm sure someone here would love to do that for you. You just need to hold it up ;)

haha.

I was out of town all weekend so wanted to make sure you didn't post it and think I was trying to flake out of it. I'm a man of my word!

Thanks, brah. I hope we recover by feasting on some Chicken Thursday. What was up with your fellow fans doing the wave when Campbell went down though? That was some douchey behavior right there! At least the Niner players showed class. If Campbell doesn't play, it's going to be rough, that'd be a big blow to our D. Fitz injured the other hammy too...SF did not go well for us.

I was at the game with my dad and sister (for my dad's birthday) and when the wave first came around, no one knew that Campbell was injured. It wasn't until maybe the second or third wave before people realized Campbell was seriously down and people stopped. There was a big standing O when Campbell got carted off though (not sure that mitigates the wave but whatever). That said, I didn't exactly have an enjoyable time. The crowd in my section was especially rude during the game. The kid seated behind me (late teens early 20's?) was banging on the back of my seat the whole time, there was a bitch fight that broke out between two girls a couple rows down and a few dudes that had to be escorted out because they had too much to drink and yacked in their seats (before the game even started). I haven't been to a live niners game in quite a long time but I don't recall it ever being this rowdy previously.

I don't know if they're letting him be the pinata as much as knowing Jason Campbell isn't better.

With Weeden he at least can show some flashes of being able to win a game while Campbell will checkdown all day when we're down 16 or more and be content with it.

But yes some of the anger is unjustly being thrown at Weeden but at the same time would it be this vile if he didn't throw that boneheaded pick? I think that's the image everyone is remembering and fueling their rage.

Then add into that the 3 INTs in week 1, the 4 INTs his first start in his rookie year plus the millions of other INTs he's thrown these past two years and you can see why things are bubbling over.

A lot of people are looking at him and seeing absolutely no change in him from year 1 to year 2. He's still staring down receivers, he's still hanging onto the ball, any lick of pressure and he folds terribly. The only major improvement I've seen of him off the top of my head is he's taken off some of the velocity of his throws, that's it.

He is done after this year regardless and he'll be like the 25th best option as a backup. I would not be surprised if he is simply out of the league a la VY next season. He'll bounce around a bit in pre-season and won't catch on anywhere.

If Chief fans show up in the thread there could be a good AFC West rivalry in here. ;-)

I have been sporadically posting this season. I try not to beat my chest about the Chiefs too much, I know where we have been the past 10 years. I will say that as much as I hated John Elway's Broncos, PMs Broncos are so much worse

A little red koolaid for this Tuesday morning.

Also first in pts allowed, by a large margin, and first in forced turnovers as well as turnover ratio. Cmon Denver!

Ball won't always bounce KC's way. +12 Turnover ratio is unsustainable. Additionally, you've faced Gabbert, Romo, Vick, Eli, Fitz, and Pryor. Outside of Romo, those QBs are either struggling or garbage. I think you do have a good defense, but the competition has been fairly bad. Bad in that the only team you'll face going forward as of right now with a winning record will be Denver assuming SD stays at 0.500.

The question is what happens when your team falls behind? That's KC's greatest weakness in my mind, and hasn't been tested so far. 7-10 points lead on KC, against a serviceable defense is a death knell for KC in my mind. Shuts down Charles and forces Alex to throw.

Guess we will have to wait and see what happens going forward. Should be a good game.

“You really felt like everything was happening just the way it was supposed to. He saw everything. He could come off and tell you every single guy he needed to see and the routes and stuff like that. ... He made all the checks and adjustments. He just was on his game.”

Wilson’s numbers weren’t overpowering: 23 of 31 for 257 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions for a 98.5 passer rating. He also ran 10 times for 61 yards.

But Carroll said, and it has been obvious during his first 22 regular-season starts, that Wilson’s contributions and control of situations transcend stats.

“First off, that he’s flowing with the game and he seems in tune with what’s happening so that he can utilize the flow of the game to make good decisions,” Carroll said when asked what he does look at when it comes to Wilson. “I want to see that he’s comfortable with all the communications, he knows what’s happening, he knows what has taken place, he’s filled with the right information; knowing that if you give him the right input he’s going to go to the right places with his decision making. So that’s part of it.

Yeah I agree. He's not worth a roster spot for most teams, who should be trying to groom someone at the backup spot. It's not like I have any particular sympathy for the guy. I just think he is getting a raw deal from the fans, but he's being well compensated for it

Pretty mundane play, except that Jones (#95) was caught overpursuing - he did it earlier on a read option play that Geno took for 9. Fortunately the Steelers weren't burnt for it, but Jones was benched after this. Worilds came in for him and got a sack the next play.

Williams (#98) really shined on this play too. Dude has closing speed, didn't get caught in the wash chasing his responsibility. There was another tackle for loss Williams had I wanna take a look at.

Good points and I agree, we are one dimensional right now (however we have had 2 come from behind wins). I will say that the Broncos have had the same easy schedule thus far, and it is just as reasonable to say their offense is unsustainable.

How do you think we feel about Wes :-(

Also, are you a Broncos fan or another one of those Peyton guys?

I've always been a Peyton guy first. He was the reason I even started paying attention to football (my first two sports I really paid attention to was NBA and tennis). I honestly don't know who I'll continue cheering for once he retires, but I do like both the Broncos and the Colts.

I was the same way with the NBA as well. When I was younger, my favorite team was the Lakers because my favorite player was Nick Van Exel. Once they shipped them out, I only ever watched Laker games for Chick Hearn and started rooting for the Clippers. For the most part, I'm a homer for Orange County southern california teams (Clippers, Ducks, Angels) though I only really follow the Clippers throughout the season.

@cover32_MIA 1h

Interesting is that @PFF also ranks Ryan Tannehill as the 4th most accurate QB in the league this year based on their accuracy percentage

‏@cover32_MIA 2h

Mike Wallace is ranked 104 of 106 WR's on @PFF has a -6.3 grade. Get what he brings to the team but those numbers don't add up to 60 million

@cover32_MIA 2h

#Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill is ranked the 6th best NFL QB by @PFF according to their PFF QB Rating

That's not an over pursue. That's how they play the read option, now. The crashing lb has responsibility on the rb.

Someone should write an obit for the read option, btw. It's dead.

Fine, but Jones was 5 steps off of the RB. I get that the pursuing LB has responsibility, but he's supposed to stay square to the play. Jones didn't and got torched.

Oh, well, I did not mean yell and scream like Children. That is for Pats fans.

I just like a little ego showing as it creates conversation. It actually seems really interesting to see if defense thrives over offense or not. As a fan of interesting football of course I hope offense wins.

Yeah, the AFC West has to be the shock of the year. They are rising out of fubar status to real contenders. It reminds me of the NFC West rising a couple years ago. Hell, I am willing to say that this year the West in general has most of the best teams.

This play may look familiar - it was the same one that Baron Batch dropped on SNF last year. After that play it was obvious that Batch was a goner.

Devin McCourty is the #1 rated safety.
Nate Solder is the #1 rated left tackle.
Sebastian Vollmer is the #2 rated right tackle.
Aqib Talib is the #4 rated cornerback.

Go Pats.

SF culture! Seriously though, that sucks that your experience was marred. Campbell said he heard the ovation and didn't notice the wave so that's good. The Niner players tried to shut it down right away, were classy. He said he could have walked off but the doctors wanted to play it safe so hopefully it's not serious and he'll be good to go Thursday. Probably best to let him rest on a short week but man will we miss him if he does.
