So Peyton Manning is losing that single season passing yards in a season record? That is some pretty crazy shit.

I wonder if Drew Brees called the league office himself to let them know it was a lateral and not a pass.

Brees is celebrating his ass off right now. Manning might never even notice.

What a shitty time to go. RIP

Next time fail your classes and enjoy the games. Like a real man.
I don't know how studying helps for math.

I was always good at math and never had to study for those exams. You just had to know the basic concepts and be smart.

Your advise is sound. Just watch the games and do some problems during commercials. If you still fail then it wasn't meant to be and remember that not everyone needs to go to college. The world needs plumbers and ditch diggers too.

Dreeeeewwwwww Brrreeeeeeeeeeeeesssss

It was embarrassing for everyone how much Drew Brees cared about records that season; especially the way they were throwing the ball in the 4th with a 28 point lead or whatever it was.

They should let Manning keep it out of principle.

Anyone know Best Buy's return policy on laptops? I want to get a Yoga 2 Pro, but the one I want (8GB) isn't in stock anywhere and I want to go ahead and get a laptop already, mostly for work.

I'm willing to settle for and test out the 4GB (non-upgradable) and see how things go, but I want to be able to bring it back after testing it if it turns out to be garbage.

What's the hardest math class you took?
I would say Econometrics at NYU when I was going for my masters in Econ. Not sure if you consider that a math class but I do!

But honestly dude I barely remember anything I learned in college. I just remember that math was not that hard for me. I do remember doing a lot of problems but it never took that long and it was fun not work. Like figuring out a puzzle in a videogame.

BA or BS?
BA in Econ. Is Econ ever a BS? I thought it was always a BA, at least thats how they rolled at my school.

Yeah, you can get a BS, the focus is on modeling and metrics as opposed to abstracts and theories with the BA. I started in BS and bailed after the third econometrics class because fuck that I'm not a fucking nerd. Went and chilled in BA where the only math I had to do was count my arbitrage money!

Hey I'm trying my best to represent seahawks fans in a positive manner but it's hard!! Lotta hellcunt Hawks fans out there!! :-(

I try as well. I might have teams I hate, but I can't hate on any fans! Sports has always made people become nuts.

Chickens fans smh

That sucks you had a bad time. It's almost impossible to go to an away game now unless you go with a block of traveling fans. NFL has to choose between beer sales and a pleasant environment, and they chose beer

Yup. =( This makes me sad too because I don't know how likely it ever is that I'll cross country to Seattle to see a home game, so it's much more likely that I'd have to see them away on the east coast.

Also, fun stats on the NFCW dominance

I never got into all the economic type math classes but all I know is there is no way I could have survived college math classes without insane amounts of studying. I breezed through math all the way through high school but once I hit college it was a different story. Multi-variable calculus, differential equations, that kind of stuff. The stuff you learned in class was never as tough as what you got on the tests so you had to do a lot of studying and learning on your own.

To be fair I am pretty stupid, though.

I liked Econometrics at the undergrad level but I was shooting for my PhD at the time so I had a reason to like it.

Econ is a BA under the liberal arts college at Arkansas but as a business major you can take Econ courses as business electives. I think Econ faculty would occasionally co-author papers with business school faculty as well. It's a weird setup.

The only thing I want to see now is a KC - PHL Superbowl, and KC blowing out the Iggles. It would be too awesome.

I love math so much. The highest level pure math class I ever took was Differential Geometry. I also took String Theory when I was in grad school and even though that was a physics class it was basically just a math class.

I purposely avoided a math minor and told my advisors to eat shit.

Windows 8 is great when you pair it with an SSD...just a blazingly fast responsive and reliable OS.

The whole issue is the terribad metro design, but after a few hours of tinkering with it you quickly learn how to quickly bypass/ignore it.

8.1 is faster than 7. I hated the Metro shit but now that I've got it bypassed 8.1 is decent enough.

I could be entirely wrong but at Oberlin (my alma m) I think it was just a BA no matter what the fuck you took. But we also had co-ed showers in one of the dorms so its possible that Oberlin did everything a little bit differently.

I actually did not mind the models and metrics. I also loved the theoretical shit. Wished I remembered 5% of what I learned.

I mean it is possible that my memory is making things easier than they seemed at the time. But at the same time some people are just good at some things and don't have to work as hard as others to get the same result. I had a friend who was a history major and did everything at the last minute and his shit was still just better than everyone else's so he always got A's. I was definitely not the smartest kid in my math classes but I always generally did well enough to get A's and it was generally fun as far as I went with it.

Speaking of math, it might have just been the people I knew around school but math majors seemed to be generally weirdos. Even mores after college. Seems like a rough life because it seems like if you were just a low level genius it was going to be a real tough grind to get that PhD.

Windows is shit, and the only people around here tolerate it is because it has great games support. Microsoft has no clue what its doing with any of their products and it shows.

Games before 2005 actually had puzzles where you had to figure out some obscure shit to advance. Play SuperMetroid or some Zelda.

Often the puzzles were poorly explained and there was a time there was no Gamefaqs to consult to tell you exactly what to do.

Yeah there are plenty of NES/SNES games that were either unplayable or fucking ridiculously hard like Ninja Gaiden. I remember trying to figure shit out in Simon's Quest. Fuck that game.

Windows 8 is fine, i find its the people so averse to change that can't handle it.

The only difference visually from 7 to 8 is metro, metro is a glorified start menu with widgets. ITs really not that difficult to use or understand.

As for your comment about them not having a clue, maybe on the consumer end. Their business end is pretty fucking good with their System Center Suite, Lync, Office 365 etc.

RE: BA vs BS. BA all the way for me. Computer science. My advisor says "well with a BS you have to take Calculus I and II, (another math that was higher than calc II) two sciences with two four hour labs." I ask what does the BA have to do? "Oh just calc I and any two sciences" F that noise. BS took so much math you could take one or two more math classes and have a minor in Math.
