Incredibly Naive
No, but the Patriots cheated their opponents out of fair games. i don't even think the Eagles would have necessarily won if the Pats didn't cheat. The Eagles may have ended up playing the Steelers in 2004.

I don't really believe in refereeing conspiracies. "Kraft money" is a joke. What I do believe in is that the Patriots dynasty deserves to be looked at in the same way that the Black Sox scandal was looked at in baseball. The Patriots never received their full punishment for what they did.

It goes beyond rivalries. The Giants are a rival. The Cowboys are a rival. I respect those teams more than I respect the Pats. The Patriots brazenly and systematically cheated every team in the league during the Belichick Dynasty days. They were a great team that wasn't content with testing themselves against competition.

Barry Bonds may not have an asterisk next to his HR records, but I will never consider them to be legit. I don't think you would either. The NFL burning the evidence of the Patriots misdeeds robbed the American people at a chance at justice.

The recent actions of Goodell and the NFL show their willingness to cover up disgusting behavior in the name of protecting the league's image.

Nothing would harm the league's image more than a detailed account of how the last great "dynasty" in the NFL was a sham. The Patriots went on to profit off of being the gold standard. They attracted free agents, gained a bigger fan base, and ratings soared. The league was soft on the Patriots.

I'm doing my part to make sure their actions are never forgotten.

LOL wow I'm sorry man... seriously "doing my part" that is golden right there. Doing your part by whining on a message board. Keep pounding your head, I'll keep watching the specials and documentaries made about how great that era was. Also I'm almost positive Bonds has an asterisk no? Either way he's not a first ballot HoF.... in fact a ton of players during that era are either not in the hall or won't be, so you're wrong about that. Nobody considers Barry Bonds as one of the greats anymore, he's absolutely been outcast, just like clemens, like big mac, like sosa, manny ramirez, etc.

At work today I jokingly predicted it would be a 14 inning Marathon...

... It's been fun, but I want to sleep, but it's so compelling!

The Pats organization should be considered outcasts. The Patriots benefit from Robert Kraft being best buddies with Roger Goodell.

Also, Bonds's records do not have an asterisk next to them. I think Roger Maris is the only time MLB has ever used an asterisk, because of the league's reverence for Ruth and the extra games Maris played. It has since been removed.

Heh, I predicted Fairley would have a better season than Watt. Fairley has been solid but Watt is on another level above even Suh at this point.

I'm starting to get used to the idea of letting both Suh and Fairley walk and using all that freed up cap space wherever we please.

Hit the peak of my suffering in the Superbowl. I think I've paid my dues.

I cried.. for the first time in over a decade. That Superbowl was glorious. Like literally tears came down from my face randomly in the 4th quarter and I didn't know how to stop it. Looked around and everyone else also either in tears, or just completely drunk (we decided to do shots for every Seahawk score.... Oh lord).

Man, Watt just destroyed. I kinda feel bad for Manuel.

So did I to be honest, but I'm not sure what's going on with the OL on some of those protections and who's responsible. I mean Eric Wood is blocking air and sliding away from Watt....that can't be right. But I have no fucking idea who's responsible for the incompetency.

We also ran a similar play to Fred/CJ multiple times the last two weeks and I think we ran it twice before the int. It was either trips or two wrs and quick hitter to the flats, just an extension of the run game. That was the perfect play to fake in the redzone to try and catch the CB playing up, catch the corner flat footed and sneak Williams behind him, instead they sat the route down.

Edit: Only explanation is they wanted to pick LB off with the smash route by Williams, and release Fred into the flat if it was man coverage. If zone, hit Chandler on Corner, but still, I don't get it. You can gain a 2 vs 1 advantage if you run Chandler up the middle and have Williams run a corner, safety would be in a bind if the corner didn't sink. But if the corner sank, OLB had Fred, and you would go to Chandler up seam. Maybe the original design is better now that I think about it... bah, so many ways,

For those interested, JJ Watt Porn and some Manuel Mistakes.

Hard to play QB when your protection is all over the place, barely slid his way. What's crazy is how many missed tackles are backs caused in the first half to get the run game going a bit.

Protection is bad, but Manuel has no anticipation. Wonder what Orton does this week.

LJ, any thoughts or reasons behind the Bills pass/run splits besides coaching incompetence? I didn't watch much of the actual game, but both Spiller and Jackson seemed to be getting pretty solid gains on the ground, at least early on. Future and I were talking about it as the game was going on and it seems insane that any staff could watch Houston's tape vs. WAS or NYG and not pound the run against them. Especially when you have a guy like Manuel under center and Spiller/Jackson available. There was actually a point when they were averaging more YPC on runs than they were YPA on passes, which is insane.

I don't see how you have Manuel throw 44 times in a game which was close pretty much the entire time and against one of the worst run defenses in the league.

So who are the top 5 Badgers in the league
I'll go with
1. J.J. Watt
2. Russell Wilson
3. DeAndre Levy(my favorite not only cause he's a Lion but because he's from Milwaukee)
4. O'Brien Schofield
5. Monte Ball

Anybody (besides Mech) wanna go out on a limb and say J.J. Watt is the single best player in the NFL right now, offense or defense?

I'm kinda tempted.

Last time Seattle won a championship was 1979 (sorry Seattle Storm but it's not the same). I wasn't even born yet (80's baby!!). Nothing but heartbreak especially in the 90's when we had a ridiculous good basketball and baseball team. That quite frankly could of easily had multiple titles if it wasn't for random hiccups (Seriously best basketball team, and MJ decided to go play baseball? How we fuck that up!!!). Then the 2000's came we got 116 win baseball team, and a SB berth and both failed.

We aren't as miserable as Cleveland, or Minnesota but we weren't far behind. Me and my boys were literally slapping each other in the 3rd quarter to make sure the 36-0 score wasn't fake.

Nope. I can't in good conscience believe "single best player in the league" is only worth 2 wins.

MRSA we went over this dude, 240 lbs of evenly distributed muscle+tiny bit of fat distributed on a 6'5 body isn't fat. I'm husky sometimes depending on the amount of beer I consumed the night before.

Also every game we've won I've had my Stafford jersey on before the game started. The Panthers game I woke up late after a nonstop party of copious amounts of narcotics and put on my Stafford jersey mid 1st quarter. It was pretty much the same last season iirc. The pride I feel when I put on that jersey is immense. What a great time to be a Lions fan. I couldn't imagine wearing a Mike Glennon jersey.

I don't think I've ever cried because of sports. I'm usually over it within a few hours.

I cried from laughing during the HarBowl. At least part of that didn't have to do with the beatdown and had to do with the fact that of course this would happen the same season as being the only team to lose to Charlie Batch, though.

Only other time I cried during sports was also from laughing, which happened during every moment of the 52 seconds of scoring at the Thanksgiving Jets/Patriots game.

You have to adjust accordingly and I want Suh back but it's not possible. Fairley is Shaun Rogers 2.0. Once he gets his contract he gonna eat. Let him walk. I'm going to check out the free agents next year.

Still the foundation of our future dynasty, Matthew Stafford, will remain and that is the most important part of building a football team.

I will probably cry and scream when the Lions win a Super Bowl. It's been a long time since the 1950 Bobby Lane glory days and I want the Lombardi Trophy at least once before I die.

You might be the new Kastrioti. and I say that with great respect.

I consider it different, but if you take it that way I'll understand. I'm not blindly covering up holes in our roster or anything like that, my point was that the league and media still embraces that era, and the public eats that shit up. Wishing for that to change on a forum won't make a damn bit of difference, and that's the best part of it all.

Lol definitely he covered for his best buddy sure man there ya go. I may have been off on Bonds, but it doesn't matter, dealing with the supreme court, the magazines, the interviews, the confessions, etc. Baseball as a whole was tainted not just one player, and he became he poster boy. That's not to say he's the only one who has been affected by it, again players like Manny, Mark McGwire, Canseco, sosa, massive list really. It absolutely stains their legacy, and a lot of great players have been missing the hall because of it. Make no mistake tom and bill will both be the leaders of their classes. They will have a massive presence long after they've gone, so get used to it. Your hate, may outweigh your love/like for your own franchise. How the hell do you have any fun watching sports?

My god jabbee you are always bringing the truth. It is so sad that these Pats fans have to be so ridiculous about this. If the Pats got cheated out of a SB the same way they would be burying the team that did it. Bunch of fucking hypocrites.

Don't know what I'd do if dolphins made the superbowl let alone win, I'm a laker fan and it was great seeing them win all those titles but my fandom for basketball and the lakers pale in comparison to the dolphins, i don't even own any lakers gear.
