I was listening to a Vikings podcast and they were saying that there is very little positive to say about Treadwell behind the scenes. Almost talking like he is already a bust. Spielman has been great at drafting defense, but on offense he has had little success. Diggs is really the only guy that he has drafted that will be a 2017 starter. That's how you end up with a bottom 5 offense

So Switch is a powerful handheld that can also dock for TV output. Sounds fantastic to me.
I have the PS4 Pro and PC for the more graphically intensive stuff. You buy Nintendo systems for Nintendo games, not cutting edge power. SNES days were cool and all but that was a long time ago.

In terms of tech that might be true but PS4 is a big step up from PS3 and is really coming into its own nowadays. Uncharted 4 looks incredible, for instance. Go look up some videos of The Witcher 3. There's only so much you can ask for to begin with as we've been dealing with diminishing returns for awhile now.
I know you booted up a game or two on your PS4 when you first bought it but you might be surprised to learn there are still new games coming out for it.

This isn't really a gimmick, honestly. 3DS is much more successful for them than Wii U so why not make the next system more versatile and give it docking/TV output functionality? This allows them to combine all of their development efforts into one system instead of splitting resources between handheld and console. The market for "powerful" consoles is pretty well owned by MS and Sony at this point, Nintendo is being smart and leveraging their greatest strength to create a portable that is versatile enough to be used as a home console. It's the smart approach, in my opinion.

Why do people want three of the same console? The PS4 and the XBone already exist, and between them share 95 percent of games. What benefit is it to anybody to have Assassins Creed 6 come out for 3 consoles (and PC) where the only major difference is the controller?

The decline just makes it appear like the particular gimmick they sell wasn't the best or most likable one, not the concept of "more gimmicks" itself being bad.
