Andy Reid is talking about getting Tyreke Hill the ball more next year. Mixon is the best RB talent in this draft. Teams, players, and coaches know that, while fans talk big about character stuff, deep down all they care about is winning

I know one team that absolutely wont touch him.....

The Film Room: Houston's Divisional Round Defense

The Houston Texans defense was incredible this past year. They were seventh in DVOA at -6.9%. They allowed 20.5 points a game, which was 11th. And were first in yards allowed. They were incredible on their own, and even more so when you remove the best player in the NFL, J.J. Watt, from the roster.

But what they did against the Patriots in the Divisional Round surpassed every great regular season feat. They went up against the second best passing offense, and gave their offense a shot in a game they had no ammunition in. Tom Brady had his lowest completion percentage of his post season career at 47.37%, the worst since last year's AFC Championship loss to the Denver Broncos, and he threw two interceptions, as many interceptions as he did the entire season. The Patriots' rushing attack was limited to less than four yards a carry. New England did score 34 points, but fourteen of those were the result of a Dion Lewis kickoff return touchdown and a Brock Osweiler interception that was returned to the six yard line. Yes, New England would have had two more offensive possessions to pick up points and yards, but Houston actually confused and flustered Brady, stopped the run, and possibly could have held New England to that mystical 20 point mark if their offense and special teams was just lousy in a vacuum.

Finally the Texans played a game against the Patriots where a couple of breaks went their way and they could have won. They finally had the defense to pull it off. But again, it didn't matter. Because again, like it was all year, their offense and special teams were festering burnt flesh masquerading as something with substance. Because again, Bill O'Brien had a passive keep things close game plan as sixteen point underdogs. They let their defense down, like they had all year. And consequently, the winnable turned into a an inflated end result.

There's still good news. It's just the same news as always, just a bit better. The Texans have the defense to contend for a Superbowl. They have the best defense they've had since 2011. If they resign AJ Bouye. If Kevin Johnson and J.J. Watt come back fully healthy, and they don't deal with cataclysmic injuries, it could possibly be an alltime great one. Yet, like the past three years, it's all going to depend on the trash heap that coagulates behind the center.

Just posted the first and last paragraphs but there is a long but great brekdown there on the Texans defense vs the Patriots in the divisional round. Good stuff

press it yourself, biiiiitch

I've got my press working, but all I've got in the house are some shitty Folger's crystals that I keep for the well done steak eating crowd.

Things have definitely gotten worse under Trump.

Millen and Marinelli tried to field a team of good guys and went 0-16. As Bill Parcells said, "This is not a game for the most well-adjusted people." As fans, we hold our noses. The Patriots cheat and lie and support Trump and their fans are as happy as they have ever been

Well, it helps that a large swathe of Pats fans share the odious beliefs of their cheating, corrupt and racist franchise.

The Lions taking the approach of not giving a fuck led to the Culbreath/Leshoure/Fairley/Berry/Spievey failures. It didn't lead to magical wins.

Not a chance.

Whining this way is just an outlet for fans of loser teams. They can't accept that their owner sucks. That their coaching staff sucks. That their players suck.

So they call the best organization in the league cheaters. To make themselves feel better.

All that is good in the world is dead.

Time for coffee and scones.

You are easily the most delusional person in the world if you don't think the pats have cheated in football games.

Willful ignorance.

They also don't like to talk about Brady and the Cheat being on his speed dial.

Remember the love letter the Cheat wrote him before the election?

Why can't they all be like Popovich and NBA coaches. :(

Van Gundy won all my respect the last few months.

Pats fans just need to lean into being evil instead of insisting they aren't at every opportunity. The lying and buck passing just makes it worse

America, what are you doing?

Shame on gata and the rest of the Pats fans who are ok with this bullshit.

On a long enough timeline honestly we're just doing what we've always done.

I honestly fear for the future of multiculturalism in the face of an economically uncertain future for the first world - where things will probably just get worse and result in a more radicalized and anti-social population looking for a scapegoat.

Donald Trump getting impeached tomorrow wouldn't change that reality without being replaced by someone pursuing a meaningful restructuring of society to some extent. Trump is the result and not the cause.
