Loved Cabin in the Woods but it helps to have enjoyed Whedon's other works. Cabin is seriously like a Buffy episode made into a feature film. Tha's not an insult either as it's what makes me love the movie since I'm an admitted Buffy/Angel/Firefly/Dollhouse (S2) fan but if you're not a fan - you won't come away rethinking your position.
So yeah, I loved it and its a helluvalot of fun to watch. Never takes itself seriously and knows exactly what it is without trying to be more.

Its more along the lines of them donating 100k to the charity he is associated with and a stipulation that he be there for the event they have planned.
It sounds a lot less insane.
Paying to be in presence of someone like him and that much money seems pretty batshit insane. charity or not
I think they had donated nearly that NYC previously, this was just a new addition.
Also, 100k isn't a big deal to everyone.
