i was out tonight and met a dude who says he was on the 49ers 1988 superbowl team. says he was a backup guard and had the superbowl ring! i can't remember his name though and i looked up the 1988 roster but none of the names ring a bell. he says he also played for the lions in his career.

Last year was the first time I've ever missed an entire NFL season. Can't believe how much I missed out on. A part of me still can't believe Cam is a starter... let alone the #1 overall pick.

The thing I don't get about the "insular" comment is that the whole point of being a sports fan is hitching your wagon to team that you really have no legitimate connection with, and then acting like your team's rivals are your rivals. I cannot stand Peyton Manning. He makes Tom Brady look tolerable by comparison. He may be the most arrogant athlete I have ever witnessed.

I think it's funny if a mediocre team wins one on a top conference it'll automatically shoot them up 3-4 seed spots even if they were mediocre for a season and found a way to win their conference tournament

I disagree wholeheartedly. My perceptions maybe off, but he seems pretty down to earth. Hell I mean the guy WANTED to finish his career in Indy, displaying his loyalty to the team and fans. He should have been Indy's Elway in that they should have devoted everything to letting him finish on top. They just got really lucky in that they landed a huge prospect, and decided to move on. I might be biased because I want them to land a legendary QB, but even if we don't I don't think he is arrogant by any means.
