30 million dollars of your cap is enormous isn't it? And that for front loading contracts.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind the league stepping in and keeping the rich reams in check, but if they weren't warned and the contracts got signed off w/o a warning, I dunno. Then again, look at the player fines, they don't really follow a trend. They just happen.

hahahahah @Skins losing $36 million in cap space....remember hearing from a few skins fans how the uncap year will free them from all the cap hell....lol lol lol...

Apparently it was the other owners who were pissed. This isn't Snyder and Jones breaking some rule. It's the other owners settling accounts, as all teams were warned not to do what Dallas and Washington did. The salary cap exists to keep Snyder and Jones in line. They are the two owners most opposed to revenue sharing

The wisdom of the Mara and Ronney families to take the long view and not constantly seek to exploit their market/legacy advantage for short term gains is why the Giants and Steelers are two of the best franchises in sports.

The Broncos are one of six teams who are considered alive in the pursuit of Manning. The others are Miami, Arizona, San Francisco, Tennessee and — surprise! — the Houston Texans.

The Texans recently inquired about Peyton Manning, according to a source. If they get seriously involved, the Texans might be considered the Broncos' biggest threat. Like the Broncos, Houston is an AFC team. Unlike the Broncos, the Texans currently have the pieces in place to be considered a Super Bowl-contending team.

Houston also has a Pro Bowl quarterback in Matt Schaub, who will turn 31 in June.

However, Schaub is coming off a season-ending broken foot injury. Manning, who is 12 days away from his 36th birthday, missed all of last season with a neck injury.

Mike Tolbert on possibility of joining the Giants:

Could former Chargers RB Mike Tolbert be the replacement for Brandon Jacobs? "I mean, definitely,'' Tolbert said on SiriusXM NFL Radio. "You see the type of offense they run. They've got a dynamic quarterback that puts the ball all over the field. Without Jacobs there that kind of leaves a hole in the offense. I think I could fill that void pretty good.'' #nyg
If the price isn't too high, I'd like that. He's a better short yardage back and he's a FAR better receiver.

Internet forums and irc...pretty much a constant. Other than texting, but group texting sucks with a lot of people.
Just weird that they never made something better.

I feel like I was on Gamefan IRC back in the 90s. You would think 15+ years later they would have come up something better.

So basically, the gist of it is that they're getting screwed cus of the new CBA... What they did was fine and fair under the old one. The league didn't disprove the contracts cus they were fine at the time.

Why did the Cowboys and Redskins get singled out?

Meanwhile, several other teams frontloaded contracts and will not be penalized at all.

Any truth to this ?

"The Packers, for instance, renegotiated Tramon Williams' contract late in the uncapped season to make his base salary more than $37 million. He got 1/17th of that each week for the last five weeks of the season, giving him a "cap" number of $15,043,000 that season. In 2011, when the cap returned, his cap number was $5.6 million -- barely more than one-third of the 2010 figure. The Packers also gave Nick Collins a roster bonus of $8.3 million in the uncapped year to give him a "cap" number of $10.95 million. The next year, when the cap returned, his cap number was only $5.18 million -- less than half. The same with Ryan Picket, but with a smaller bonus ($6,437,500) and smaller cap numbers ($8.44 million in 2010, only $4.21 million in 2011). The same with BJ Raji -- $5,222,500 roster bonus, $7.89 million in 2010, only $3.06 million in 2011. Apparently, it was perfectly OK for them to dump money into the uncapped year."- From Cowboy Zone

Apparently because or two teams were deemed as too brash in their actions....

The Cowboys seem to have it worse, because this puts them 10M over the CAP. This leaves the Skins at 18M if they split it 50/50.

I think they're going to take a bulk of it next year, assuming that the cap increases to further absorb the hit.
