NFL Offseason Thread 2013 - Here comes the wait

I think this is going to be the season that defines Tomlin's coaching career. I know he's won a Super Bowl already, and been to another, but those were largely with established Cowher-era players (although I don't take it as far as some do in that regard, he had a HUGE part in helping us to achieve those victories). Barring variables like break out players from the draft, we're going into next season with what I'd consider to be our least talented/thinnest roster in years. We're going to need our best players to maintain a high level of play, and we're going to need the players under them to step their games up if we hope to have a successful season. And IMO, it's up to Tomlin and his staff to make that a reality.

I tend to over exaggerate a lot, that's just my method of coping, so I don't truly believe next season is going to be awful for the Steelers (although I wouldn't be surprised if it were!). I know it's a bit premature to talk about this considering the draft has yet to occur (let's be honest here, we're not going to be doing anything in Free Agency), but was interested in what Steelers fans had to say about next season's prospects. I think playoffs are a definite possibility, but I think that may come as a result of what I think is going to be a relatively iffy division.

Tomlin has shown that he has no skills at making decisions. Horrible on the field management of games. At least twice last season he chose to go for long FGs that every other human on earth knew Suisham couldn't hit.

If you're depending on Tomlin coaching a less talented team to success, then you're deluded (which probably isn't the first time you've heard that).

We lost our best pass rusher, a CB who could have been our #1 when Ike retires, our only 1K yard RB and our best TE has a torn up knee. Our SS and FS are both old and injury prone. As much as I like Brown and Sanders, they have proven to be turnover prone.

Our QB is still whining about losing the OC who tried to get him killed.

To pile on: we re-signed William Gay (on purpose) and Waste of Spaeth.

To make it even more transparent, the best facet of our team right now is our offensive line.

If we win 7 games I'll be surprised. If we win 8 or more it's because Ben really is elite and he'll put his team on his back and carry them, but I really don't see that happening.

So sorry man. I understand survivor's guilt. Just be happy you didn't get done.

the more I read about Keenan Lewis the more I like.
He is a physical bump n run corner that plays on the edge.
as opposed to our current guys who like to escort recievers to the endzone.

Tomlin sucks at making changes during a game and is even too slow at making changes during a season. As someone pointed out he still has not figured out that 50 yard FGs are a bad proposition at home. We have also sucked at drafting and coaching up players. How many players have we added worth a damn since Cowher left? Cowher rebuilt three times. Time to see it Tomlin can do it.

This season to me is more about the draft than the season.

We fired an attorney last week and it sucked. He was not a great attorney but he was a good dude. I hate that side of work. The cunt who got him fired is still there though. She is such a lying bitch. I remember when she tried to get me in trouble when I was first hired. I never trusted that bitch and kept meticulous records of everything. I proved I was innocent and she was on thin ice for the next 2 years. But cunts are like cockroaches when it comes to surviving it would seem.

What is the deal with people constantly trying to get others fired? I mean, it's not even the stab someone in the back kind of thing either because it wouldn't even benefit them!

My wife worked with this girl who was constantly trying to get dirt on people so she could go rat them out and look like a hero.

Cunts are going to be cunts.

The bitch at my office is crazy as fuck and has nothing better to do.

Also a lot of those cunts get promoted. It can pay to be a weasel.

http://www.rantsports.com/nfl/2013/03/21/ed-reed-is-a-perfect-fit-with-the-houston-texans/

If any safety is forced to play in the box, it will be his new partner on the back end, Danieal Manning. Manning is so similar to Ravens’ last safety partner, Bernard Pollard, that he actually replaced him in Houston two seasons ago. It could be argued that Manning is actually better than Pollard at this point in his career.

Much of Reed’s time last season was spent covering for the Ravens’ depleted cornerback corps. Without Lardarius Webb, the defense was forced to adjust its approach. When Jimmy Smith was injured and under-performing, Reed was limited even more in the freelancing that he could do. In Houston, Reed will play inside two very talented cornerbacks in Kareem Jackson and Jonathan Joseph. Both had their issues in 2012, but both should be able to rebound in 2013.

Joseph in particular will make Reed’s job easier. When healthy and performing, he is an elite talent who quarterbacks will hesitate to target. If Reed has a cornerback who he can forget about watching over on the back end, then the area on the field he is required to cover is diluted. A diluted field means less distance to travel for Reed when he reads the quarterback or reacts to throws. By proxy, that should allow him to get his hands on more footballs.

Almost gets me excited for Old n busted.

Caught up with The Americans. Really good show. But fantastic choices in music. I'm not really a music snob but they are killing it!

And I had no idea you could show so much nudity on FX! Figure by season 3 we'll be getting some fur

What time are the Browns going to be drafting in our Mock this Saturday? I have to work 2nd shift until 10 PM EST. Maybe we could delay a bit if I can't make it?

Texans need to sign Kolb. It's such a good fit, unless Kolb is done with football. Had a lot of the don't give a fucks at the end of his season
